ARGH!!  What a day!  Yesterday, they prescribed Amoxicillin and Prednisone.  It helped and I got the first decent sleep I’ve had in days.  Today I found an update waiting for my phone.  It’s an old iPhone and it locked up.  It took me over three and a half hours to restore it enough to call and text, but it will no longer update.  I waited too long. My new phone should be delivered to WWWendy tomorrow.  I’ll get it Sunday.  That left me no time to research, so I don’t have even a short take.  ARGH!!  TGIF!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:37 (average 4:42).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. Whatever you can post, TomCat. Hope you get to feeling well enough for more writing.

  2. Cartoon: Amen, to this!

So relieved to read that you got meds, and sleep too, and are on the road to recovery. I don’t know much about iphones, but I’m glad that you’ll be getting a new one on Sunday, by way of WWWendy. Good news all the way around. Get your rest, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. 6:14 Some passionflowers bear passionfruit, and some, I guess, don’t. passionfrit is delectable.

The good news is, though your phone may be toast, YOU feel better. And that IS good news.

Cartoon – One of the anniversaries we celebrate that is pretty widely known. John Lewis, for instance, brought it up. Even though in the end it did not achieve real desegregation, it was the right decision.

    • Very sad to hear about the passing of Grumpy Cat from complications of a urinary tract infection.

Still, 7 y/o seems awfully young to me.

      • Seven years is young for a cat, normally.  It would correspond to late 30’s-early 40’s in a human.  Normally.  But Grumpy had dwarfism.  this affects both general life expectancy and the ability of the immune system to fight off infection.  No, I’m not a veterinarian (as you well know), but these are consistent motifs in what I’ve been reading about her.

  4. Good to hear you got seen, medicine AND a good night sleep!

    Take your time getting better.

Sorry to hear about your iPhone.

Reminds me I need to backup my phone again.  (But I really would like to get rid of a lot of the photos since they’re now on my hard drive and the cloud.)

  5. So good to read you’ve got meds now, TomCat, and that they’re working already. Of course, sleep will be the most powerful medicine now, so take an extra dose whenever you feel like it.

I’ve got a slight suspicion that Apple is deliberately limiting the downward compatibility of its updates, as I’ve recently heard the exact same story from both iPhone and iPad owners who had an older version of either. It’s hard to believe that’s a coincidence. I’m sorry it caught you now, at a time you’d probably spend your money on your move to that lovely apartment instead of on a new phone, I’m sure.

  6. So happy to hear that you’re feeling a little better, TC. Glad you got some medications to help you. That you got some sleep too.
Sorry to hear about your older iphone. Sunday will be here before you know it and you’ll have your new one.

  7. Thanks and hugs to all.  On the phone, the repair time is a much bigger deal than the expense.  17
