It’s a tired day here in the CatBox.  The remains of the tumor in my retina are still shrinking and still quite dead, so I am a cancer-free puddy tat.  My eyes are still irritated, but not enough to keep me from working.  I don’t like being out of the loop for two days.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Tofay’s took me 3:22 (average 4:56).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Pete Buttigieg Breaks Through The Political Noise

That has to be one of the best slams of Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian (the opposite of authentic Christian) hatred I have ever heard, I am very impressed. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: Socialism of the Rich, Capitalism for the Rest

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right, but I’ve been writing the same thing about the Reich on the right, the Republican Reich, since 2009, that I can document. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: The redaction of the Mueller report stalled on Monday after the Attorney General, William Barr, passed out from inhaling fumes from multiple Sharpie markers.

Barr, who had been working around the clock to redact the report before its release, reportedly lost consciousness while trying to black out a seventy-four-page section detailing Donald Trump, Jr.,’s contacts with more than three dozen Russian individuals.

“You cannot use that many Sharpies, for hours on end, without proper ventilation,” a Justice Department staffer, speaking on condition of anonymity, said. “This was a disaster waiting to happen.”

The insentient Barr was rushed to Walter Reed medical center, where a grim-faced hospital spokesperson described his condition as “Ben Carson–like.”

Thanks for the scoop Andy. I’m sure it’s accurate.  RESIST!!

  1. 5:36 Brrrrr.

Mayor Pete – “Your problem, sir, is with my creator.” Yes. Now take it to the next level. If you claim to love and serve God, yet you dismiss one of his creations as sinful, just by virtue of being what it (or in this case, he or she) is, you are a blasphemer.

Reich – I can testify to some of that longevity on your part, and you have not been alone in that either. And I think this is far from the first time Robert has said it. The new part is this particular format and presentation. If it helps, I’m not sure I care who said it first.

TNY – Andy, from your mouth to God’s ears.

Cartoon – The military giveth, and dirty politics and hate taketh away. Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. has a new two-part series ready on Reconstruction called “Stony the Road” (and there is also a companion book.) The first part is on PBS tonight, the second, next Tuesday. Watch if you can, DVR if you have to, read the book if that’s all that’s available. He and a partner had three documentaries planned, and this ione was not going to be the first originally, but current events made this one a lot more pertinent.

  2. MSNBC: I really like Pete. Loves his talks, and speeches. As with all who may/or may not be running, (D’s), it’s nice hearing a person speak about issues that are important to all of us, and not blabbing incoherently about nothing and then lying about it, in an unhinged rant.

RR: Good video, and so true! Passing this one on.

    NYer: Ben Carson-like’….LOL Andy!
Good News that you’re cancer free! YAY!!!! 23
Hope that you have a great rest of your day, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

It’s begun, and this breaks my heart:
*This just in: Trump administration cancels deal with MLB to sign Cuban players.

  3. It speaks volumes about society when a gay man reveals that he once wished he could take a pill to make him straight. The times, they are a-changin’ – but they need to keep changin’, and moving forward.

Of course the Rich oppose socialism – for everybody else. Cut off social security, Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, but keep those tax breaks for the rich, and all those subsidies for big businesses! What they don’t realize is this system is not stable, and not sustainable. Not only that, when the 99% realize they are working harder and harder for less and less, they will not take this lying down. They will rise up, they will VOTE, and the fat cats better pray that ballots are sufficient to end this top-heavy system of legalized theft!

Why do the 99% deserve a bigger piece of the pie? So they can not just keep up with bills, but feed their families without relying on food stamps or welfare. So they can spend and stimulate the economy. So they can put aside enough so they don’t have to worry about an unexpected expense.

But if the 1% want to keep feeding the monster of socialist revolution, let them. When they see the torches and pitchforks, it will be too late.

  4. MSNBC: I’m also very impressed!  I am also glad to see someone come out and confront Pence in a very direct, straightforward manner.
RR is always on target.  This goes back to St. Reagan, and his work to shift, redirect, wealth up the ladder.  Had he done it the other way around, he’d been called a “Dirty Commie!” by the wealthy.  They are, however, not capable of recognizing a subtle point like this, as all they can see is greed!  So, it’s Communism for the wealthy, actually!
New Yorker: Hey, maybe Barr is Carson…in white-face!
‘Toon: Sadly, while the North won the war, the South has won the reconstruction, and marches on!

  5. MSNBC: Agree with others above, that Pete is a person you’d enjoy listening to. I say Bravo to him for standing up to pEnce. We certainly need more people like him.
    RR: Good advice as usual.
TNY: bArr… ben carson like???? All I know is that I’m sick of him screwing around with the report. Release it now.
Happy that your exam came out with flying colors. cancer free. Keep up the great work, TC.

  6. 3:47 A slippery slope.

MSNBC: It’s incredibly sad that America has returned to or is stuck in an era where public figures still are made to feel they have to ‘explain’ their sexual orientation or apologize for it, just because others think they have the right to condemn them on no more than their own bias and intolerance.

Robert Reich: Nice new format, redefining, or rather reappointing, socialism and capitalism to give new attention value to a message that has been repeated often and for a long time by many. But repeating it over and over, in as many different forms as possible, is an absolute necessity to have voters make the right choice in 2020.

TNY: I haven’t enjoyed your parodies as much as this one for quite some time, Andy. 😜 I can just imagine Barr, almost covered by hundreds of black markers, overcome by their fumes and fast turning into zombie Ben Carson, spasmodically trying to blacken out yet another line in Mueller’s report before he’s carried away, for good.

Congratulations on such an excellent result for your eye-examination, TomCat. Dead tumours that shrink, the only way for them to be. I was wondering, though, has the radiation affected the nerve, and your eyesight as a result, in any way?

  7. Thanks and busy TGIF Hugs to all. 23
