I don’t know why, but I overslept and feel very tired today.  I’ll just get done ASAP.

Jig Zone:

Today’s took me 3:44 (average 5:38).  To do it, click here.  Yow did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Media Matters Channel): During Fox News’ emergency meeting with ad buyers, protesters tell advertisers to #DropFox

Kudos to the protestors. The Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, deserves extinction. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Progressive Politics Channel): CNN Wants To Teach You About Socialism

We are a mixed economy. Fire and police protection, for example, are socialized. Ideal Communism is a state where there is no government. Everyone contributes according to their ability and consumes according to their need. It does not exist on any national scale. Modern Communism is a dictatorship pretending socialism. The Republican goal is plutocratic fascism. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Offering an upbeat assessment of the headline-grabbing college-admissions scandal, Betsy DeVos said on Thursday that bribing colleges gave students “a really neat opportunity” to learn math.

The Secretary of Education suggested that, rather than keeping children in the dark about the bribes that enable their college acceptances, “Parents should sit around the kitchen table with their kids and work on some fun math problems together.”

“Let’s say it’ll cost Amber seventy-five thousand dollars to get into Stanford, and it’ll cost her twin brother Dylan seventy-five thousand to get into Georgetown,” she said. “How much money total will their parents have to wire?”

“Or let’s say Jenna has a 470 verbal score, but she needs a 730 to get into Yale,” DeVos said. “How much will she have to pay to get her score changed?”

Andy, she might not have said that, but you stole her idea. RESIST!!

Cartoons:

Ryan may be gone, but the goal remains.

  1. MM: I am with them in spirit, as what they’re protesting is so true, with their lies.
Faux is not what we stand for.

CNN: Good & educational video. Passing this on.

NYer: Isn’t that awful? Gawd, the sheer amount of $$ !!

Cartoon: Hope you have a fun day, Happy Birthday, Edie! Cartoon 2: Yep !!

We just had a mini hailstorm, wth? Hope that you get your rest, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  2. I watched Faux News once, just to be fair. I could stand only a few minutes before I knew it was garbage. Just a few minutes, you say? One need not drink the entire bottle of beer to know it has gone skunky.

Too many people confuse socialism with communism. Also, many people who knee-jerk lose their sh*t upon hearing or reading the word “socialism” don’t know how much they benefit from socialism every day. Take away socialism, and these fools would wither.

  3. Many more, Edie!!
MMC: Glad to see that this is out in the open!  While I do not see it happening, their license needs to b pulled.  Carlson is bleeding sponsors; drip, drip, drip.
New Yorker: Is this not how DeVos got to be where she is?
‘Toon: Just when I thought I’d never have to see his smarmy face again!

  4. MM:  Good for the protesters.  Faux Noise needs to go away.

PPC:  This is an excellent and educational video.  Shared.

NYer:  Andy is reporting straight news again.  I’m sure Devos got her degree through mommy and daddy’s $$$$.

    Happy Birthday Edie. 🎂🎁

Thank you TomCat.  Have a nice evening and rest up.

  5. 5:12 In Putin’s Russia, salad eat you.

MM – Excellent. Of course we need to KNOW who these advertisers are and NOT PATRONIZE THEM. I’ve shared this before, but I’ll share it again:
List of Fox advertisers, general and by program
Yes, I know they change. This gets updated periodically.

PPC – Just because someone lives in a capitalistic economy (if we did – I agree we do not) doesn’t mean that person is a capitalist. If it weren’t forsocialism I’d be dead – my major source of income is Social Security. I also have a small employer pension (which might be considered capitalistic, but I’d disagree – without unions, not one of those would exist.) I also have wo 401(k)s – one of which I just virtually liquidated to replace my dead vehicle, and another a little larger, but I still could not live a month on the mandatory distribution from it. It’s truly socialism that is keeping me alive. Also, earning on money loaned at interest is just psrt of capitalism. Most of those distributions are not interest income, but my own money returned to me.

TNY – Sure, why not, the kids deserve to be able to brag about screwing the country. /S Otherwise, straight news.

    Happy Birthday, Edie!

Cartoon – Isn’t that the truth. He’s gone, but the memory lingers on, like a bad smell.

  6. 22Happy Birthday Edie

  7. MMC: Power to these protesters. CNN: Agree with Pat and Nita. Great video indeed. Happy Birthday, Edie. Cartoon: May these rot in he*l for wanting to destroy our healthcare.

  8. 4:06 Unappetizing stuff of nightmares.

MM: Very worthwhile protest aimed at the right people: Faux News advertisers. If they had any sense of what was going on in the street before the closed doors of their emergency meeting (a bad sign in itself) they will have realized that some responsibility for how much Faux News is able to brainwash people with fake news and lies, lies with them. Of course, that is exactly how some advertisers want it, but a number of them must realize that it rubs off badly on them too.

PP: Glad someone is taking the trouble to first learn from his own mistake and then takes the trouble to explain to Americans who may make the same mistake, what socialism really is. Well, Democratic Socialism to be precise. Sad that”, although CNN is Drumpf’s “enemy number one, they haven’t forgotten their old tricks of disinformation.

TNY: I’m sure Betsy DeVos would like us to mail her the answer to the questions, so she can tell her family and friends how much they can expect to put aside to put their kids through college.

I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Edie!

  9. Puzzle — 4:12  Would someone give Trump a big bouquet of this precious plant!

Media Matters — I hope Faux Noise sinks faster than the Titanic.  Perhaps Trump should be charged with collusion . . .with Faux Noise!

Progressive Politics — I have said it before — too many people conflate socialism with communism.  Further, Republicans bandy the word ‘socialism’ about as if it is a dirty word.  It is not!  As to this presentation, I have to review it several times as I find him difficult to follow, especially when I am very tired.

The New Yorker — I was thinking the same thing Mitch.  One rises to the height of one’s incompetence and DeVos is more than just a little high!

Cartoon — I do remember that!  What an idiot!

    Happy Birthday Edie!!!

Happy Ides of March!  Julius Caesar did not think it such a happy day.

  10. Thanks and hugs to all! 29
