From Daily Kos: Republicans have made their strategy for the 2020 elections crystal-clear: going after the newly serving Democratic women of color in Congress. Given this, we can only anticipate conservatives becoming even more rabid over the next two years, ramping up their claims that progressive Democrats in the House are all socialists, who also happen to be anti-Semites that get a kick out of murdering unborn children. The New York Times reports that this is how Republicans hope to appeal to voters, and that they have unabashedly claimed this as their plan for victory going forward.
Of course, it’s always super fun for the GOP to make false claims about Democrats and paint them as out-of-control lefties who threaten the American way of life. But this time, it isn’t just business as usual. By pinning their hopes on this as a viable campaign and fundraising opportunity, Republicans are also hoping they can “strangle the new Democratic majority in its infancy.”
As absurd as this sounds, beware! If the Republican Reich were 1/10th as adept at governing as they are at disinformation, they would be half competent. RESIST!!

YT-RRC: The Democrats need to focus on WINNING. Winners make laws – losers can only protest. They lost in 2016 because they backed a Democ-RAT, a pseudo-progressive who was a corporate tool. In 2020 we need a REAL Democrat, a real progressive, in position to retake the Oval Office from Cheat-oh.
YT-MOC: I did my part by joining a peaceful protest in Decatur, GA, a very progressive suburb of Atlanta. We got lots of thumbs up, honks, beeps, cheers and applause – and just one middle finger. I pity that schmuck.
DK: No surprise the lily-white male chauvinists are pissed about having to share the House and Senate with women “of color.”

DK: It’s no surprise to me that the republicans are going after the diverse newly serving women. They don’t like women in power, people of color and people that want to help the common person.

Protests – Kudos indeed. I wasn’t able to hit the streets but I did do some signing.
DK – Yes. This is what always scares me. It might not scare me, or at least not so much, if I hadn’t seen first hand what they did to Hillary Clinton. We do need to be wary.

DK: I am anticipating that this strategy will backfire on them. They will simply alienate anyone other than those who, at this stage, think that Drumph is worth voting for. And any of those are not going to even consider voting for a Democrat. On the other hand, I could be wrong, as more and more people do their tax preparation, there ought to be an increase in “Buyer’s remorse” spreading around the country…in all but the 1%.
‘Toon: That fetus has rights only as long as it remains in-utero. Especially if it emerges with anything other than white skin.

Robert Reich: Excellent analysis from Reich, rightly concluded with “No more is needed. But also no less”. The only question now is: who will fit that profile? Because just being a Democrat will not be enough. Reich’s selection criteria will be hard to meet for any of the candidates.
MO: This is where democracy is to be found these days: in the streets, at the grass roots. I hope the next two yeas will be filled with larger demonstrations against Drumpf each day.
DK: Republicans come up with a strategy that’ll lead them to victory which summarizes as follows: “ramping up their claims that progressive Democrats in the House are all socialists, who also happen to be anti-Semites that get a kick out of murdering unborn children” by repeating lies until they become truths and by inundating people in fake news. And while they are open about it, there’s a fair chance it’ll work. Only in America (I hope).
