Woozles Want Equal Time

And speaking of dogs, while many of us have shared our delight in having Pooties, I have no doubt we have our fair share of Woozle lovers out there, too.  I think they deserve some equal time – and what better way to provide it to them than some clips from this week’s Westminster Kennel Dog Show?

Not being a dog-person myself, I’ll be honest in saying that I was surprised how much I truly enjoyed the Agility Course Run  competition – especially the weaving part.  So here are some GIFs of the winners while weaving.

[NOTE: The heights refer to both the height of the bars they have to jump AND the dog’s height.  A dog cannot compete at a higher height than their own actual measured height.]

Notorious RBG Returns to Work Today – YIPPEE!

How’s this for some great news?  One of our favorite Supreme Court Justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg (AKA Notorious RBG) today has returned to her actual workplace – first time since her lung cancer surgery in late December.

(Even though not physically present, she has been keeping up with the Court’s workload while recuperating at home – although she has missed two weeks of oral arguments.)

No doubt her regular workout routines have helped the 85 year-old Justice in her rapid recovery from her fall, rib fractures and lung cancer surgery.

And it’s reported she enjoyed the Get Well Card that was signed by a few folks wishing her a speedy recovery whose names you might recognize: Steven Spielberg, Lady Gaga, Spike Lee, Glenn Close, Laura Dern, Amy Adams, Ron Howard, Ted Danson, Helen Mirren, Stephen Colbert, Meredith Vieira and MORE!

Rosalynn Gets Bussed on Camera

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, 94 year-old Pres. Jimmy Carter took Rosalyn to an Atlanta Hawks basketball game.  They were there to receive a humanitarian award from the Hawks for all the good deeds they do, and also to honor the LGBTQ community during the Hawk’s first “Pride Night” celebration.

The theme for the night was “Love Wins” – so it’s not surprising that the couple (who were married in 1946) was featured on the Hawk’s “Kiss Cam”.  And this is not the first-time they’ve been on a “Kiss Cam”.  The Atlanta Braves featured them twice, in 2015 and 2016.

Winter Road Rage – Canadian-Style

Despite Thursday being Valentine’s Day, everything was not all love, kisses and roses in Canada.  A couple people caught videos of some brutal winter road rage, Canadian-style:

Now THAT’S something we would all welcome crossing our borders!

In closing, I suppose for fairness’ sake, we should also give our Pooties some “face-to-face” time … with a window washer.  No doubt there was enjoyment happening on BOTH sides of the window pane in this video clip.

  1. Cross posted to Care2 HERE

    • Delightfully agile woozles … the training must have been grueling.

I signed a couple of cards for RBG myself – but [a] I’m not a celebrity, and [b] the ones I sgnied were signed by thousands of people. So don’t look for my name on the net! (And isn’t everyone glad she got there BEFORE Traitor Tot declared a fake “national emergency,” which will likely end up there?)

Of all our Presidents, Jimmy Carter is the one I (and many others) most associate with LOVE. This is great.

What a gorgeous and BIG house panther! And his buddy the house tiger as well!

  2. Yeeeeehaaaa!!! ? ?
That was amazing, all those pups were super agile but my heart is with those precious Papillon’s!!!
Dear Bulldog just isn’t cut out for agility!

RBG’s got it, use it or lose it!! NEVER too old to train! ??‍♀️ ??

President Jimmy Carter, NEVER too old to KISS!!! ?

WOW give me some of that Canadian ‘road rage’!!! ☮️

i want to hire that window washer, to entertain my furry ones!!! ✔️

    • Maybe I should have included the Bulldog.  He didn’t Win, Place or Show – so I left him off.  But Rudy was VERY popular with the crowd … if not all that agile. But he ended strong:

  3. Awesome post, loved it, TY SoINeedAName!! ❤️

  4. Westminster Kennel Dog Show: I’m not sure if those dog who compete only in these “best in breed” like it very much: all that waiting around, endless grooming and striking a pose and standing perfectly still for judges to take a look at them. But I know from friends, who had two border collies who competed in Agility Course Run competitions, that the dogs adore running those tracks and love doing the training for it. In fact they like it so much, they go ballistic if their training hs to stop for more than a few days. They then need to spend all that penned-up energy on something else.

Welcome back, dear RBG! I hope you keep fit and healthy and can continue to deliver common sense and judgement with integrity to SCOTUS. Don’t let them get away with their right-wing ??

I hope Jimmy and Rosalynn get to share many more years of their true love.

The examples of Canadian Road Rage in winter are terrific, Nameless. Canadians give it a whole new meaning. Kudos to them!

I bet that window cleaner went home whistling that day. A pootie lover, no doubt.

Thanks for a happy set of video’s that put the ? back on my face, Nameless.

  5. The Westminster announcer was just as excited, as I was in viewing these. Of course, they (furbabies) did such an excellent performance. Kudos to all and their handlers. Though, I will say, Winky is my new hero, who won my heart. lol

RBG rocks. I mean, ROCKS!!!! Glad to have her back too!! Love her get well card too.

Such a sweet viral. Love the Carters!!

Road rage: We need more of these, than the other.

    Window washer & kitties: Awwwww….

Thank you, Nameless for this delightful post, and Joanne for cross-posting. Wonderful !!!

  6. Thanks Nameless!  Loved the dawgs25

  7. Amazes me the way the owners/trainers are so involved with their pets at the Westminster Kennel Dog Show. Never realized that the were.
RBG you go lady… motivated to keep going,  I pray that I will be just as motivated to keep pushing myself like she does.
Kiss Cam: Love watching Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. They have been in love for so many years and still as happy as when they were youngsters.
Amazing Road Rage in Canada. We could use that kind here.
Wish I could hire the window washer too.

  8. The agility clip with “Boss, and the other little guys,” is mind blowing!
Having once ages upon ages ago, had a girlfriend who ha a national breed champion english setter, at one time pictured on the inside cover of the book about them that one would see at the pet stores, I can tell you that the involvement with them is loving, and the dogs do seem to relish the experience.
RBG: Never stop exercising, or, on the other hand, never consider yourself too old to start!  She is amazing!!!
Kiss Cam: We might be living in a much more livable world if Reagan had not screwed his way into office, giving Jimmy a second term.
Who knew window washing could be so rewarding?
