As always, it’s a busy day here in the CatBox.  Store to Door returns next week, so I’m starting to plan my menu.  Today and Tomorrow are High Holy Days, as the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb celebrates the annual Festival of Cards Gone Wild.  My Broncos are not in the playoffs, because they stink.  May the Orb shine its blessed light upon your team.  Tomorrow is a WWWendy day, and we have a pants load of chores.  Therefore, please expect no more than a Personal Update with no links messages on Care2.

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Democrats Paint Stark Contrast With Outgoing Republicans (18:29)

"HR1 is the most far reaching reform plan to be introduced in Congress, since the Watergate era." This is a beautiful way to introduce voters to what the Democratic Party wants to do. We must publicize the bill (text of HR1 here) and the tactics Republicans use to keep it from becoming law. RESIST!!

From YouTube (RWW Channel): RWW News: Hank Kunneman Prophesies That God Will Use 2019 to Divide the Democrats

Barf Bag Alert!!

I hate to say this. To be divided, Democrats have never needed help from hate-filled, rabid pseudo-Christians (the opposite of real authentic Christians) or Republican Supply-side Jesus (a Republican invention that is the opposite of the real Jesus). We have accomplished that all by ourselves. That MUST stop NOW! RESIST!!

From Alternet: 1. Tucker Carlson warns women being paid more than men will destroy society.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson is by now well-known for his on-air appeals to white nationalism. Last month, his remarks that immigrants make America “poorer and dirtier” have caused him to lose a raft of advertisers in recent weeks. But he also has a serious problem with women — and according to his broadcast on Wednesday, rising pay for women will lead to “men in decline.”

Carlson claimed that because “male-dominated” industries like manufacturing are in decline in some parts of the country, but schools, hospitals, and other places that employ large numbers of women are in as high demand as ever, “in many areas, women suddenly made more than men … Study after study shows that when men make less than women, women generally no longer want to marry them.”

“Over big populations this causes a drop in marriage, a spike in out-of-wedlock births and all the familiar disasters that inevitably follow. More drug and alcohol abuse, higher incarceration rates, fewer families formed in the next generation,” Carlson warned…

…Naturally, Carlson doesn’t provide any sourcing for these claims. Nor does he seem to have noticed that women in fact earn less than men on average, not more.

This is the first of five most ridiculous Republican moments of week. Click through for the other four. RESIST!!

  1. 4:49 Fish?

MSNBC – I’ve been reading about HR1. I don’t suppose it will bring peace and prosperity to the world, or cure the common cold, but it’s definitely a step in those directions.

RWW – It is ridiculous that Democrats, who are so unwilling to be divided by color or gender or sexual orientation or disability are so easily divided by differences of opinion, and often small ones at that. As you say, it MUST stop.

    F. Carlson – So – paying people what their work is worth will destroy society, hmmm? That would not be any society I would want to be a part of.

    Cartoon – Yep.

  2. MSNBC: Love Rachel. Will read later re: HR1, thx.

BBA: We must stay united, and come together always…as one.

AN: omg. Good grief!! What amazes me is how they think and what they say. ugh!

Cartoon: Of course, the bigger the better…. to shoot with!

My guys are playing the Colts, not lookin’ good, as of right now. Hope that you have a good evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “Donald Trump says accepting any deals by Pelosi and Shumer would make him look foolish re: the shutdown. I don’t know how to break it to you, Spanky, …but that ship has already sailed by.” ~ AN ~

  3. Wingnuts are hyperventilating!!!

    Love it!!! ?

  4. MSNBC: We shall see where it all goes from here??
BBA: Agree with Pat that we need to stay united. Don’t need bickering among them.
Alternet: Heard of it all now. tUcker speaks like tRump…worthless thoughts. Women work harder just as hard if not harder at companies.

  5. 3:53 No catch aboard.

Rachel Maddow: Rachel brought some excellent examples to the table of Republican loud-mouths who have only one strongly developed political muscle: their vocal chord’s with which they scream their hatred and impotency into the world. Everything else is underdeveloped, their brain, their political vision and their humanity. It may have taken them long, but finally their constituents have gotten the message: these loud-mouths are incapable of action, of bringing to fruition anything they scream at their voters. The incoming Democrats now have to show that politicians can actually realize plans; not with screaming, but with commitment and competence. Go Democrats!

Alternet: “Study after study shows that when men make less than women, women generally no longer want to marry them.” …sorry, it took me a while to get myself off the floor and dry the tears running down my face. I seldom heard a more pathetic case made for men. Apparently men have nothing going for them except their pay-check and women wouldn’t put up with them if the earned more and were self sufficient. Tucker is lucky not all women are Amazonians who selected a few good men to survive and that wasn’t based on money. I dont think he’s had gotten very far. ?

  6. Puzzle — 3:41  This is strictly a catch and release boat!

MSNBC — Le Page and Snyder gone — don’t let the door hit you on the ass as you leave — AMEN!!!  HR1 is a damn fine start.  Too bad that it will not see the light of day in the Senate, well at least not in its entirety.  McTurtle will see to that!

RWW — WTH???  Is this charlatan trying to channel God?  Has he not heard that God is omnipotent and does not require any help.  Besides, God does not do politics.  Kunneman better be careful or he just might be thrown out of the temple.

AlterNet — Tucker Carlson, Lou Dobbs, Rick Santorum, and die hard Trump supporters are a bunch of losers.  AlterNet has another article about the links between brain damage and religious fundamentalism.  I wonder if there is a link between brain damage and Republicanism as practised in the US?

Cartoon — Yeah but too bad they didn’t all fire blanks.  Maybe then Republicans would peter out! (pun intended)

Sorry I did not make it in yesterday.  I was not feeling all that chipper upon waking.  When I tried to check in, I kept falling asleep at the keyboard so I decided to snooze which turned out to be a day long exercise.

  7. Thanks and pooped hugs. 19

  8. Y/T: Pelosi is a class act, and actually has a few smarts, so sorely missing in the Oval Office’s resident.
    RWW: Pure poppycock!
Alternet: Carlson shows still more poppycock!
‘Toon: It probably melts upon firing…not wilts, melts!
