Yesterday’s trip to the eye surgeon’s office came off without a hitch. Lori said the eye point is unchanged, increasing the odds of a successful corrective surgery in December. I slept very poorly last night so I am tired today. Pray for those harmed by the Republican domestic terrorist in Pittsburgh.

From The New Yorker: Moments after law enforcement apprehended the pipe-bombing suspect, Cesar Sayoc, in Florida, White House staffers scrambled to make sure that Donald J. Trump had never retweeted anything from Sayoc’s demented Twitter feed.
The alarm bells went off at the White House after the chief of staff, John Kelly, reviewed Sayoc’s feed, which is riddled with right-wing conspiracy theories and paranoid attacks on George Soros, and thought that some of the tweets “looked kind of familiar,” an aide to Kelly confirmed.
After spotting the similarities, Kelly enlisted Kellyanne Conway, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Jared Kushner to comb through Trump’s Twitter feed and ascertain whether he had in fact retweeted any of the bombing suspect’s unhinged ravings.
As of late Friday afternoon, the team of staffers had not yet identified any retweets of the alleged pipe bomber by Trump, but cautioned that their work was “far from over,” a White House source said.
Dang, Andy! I think they’ll find dozens. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

This country is in the toilet, no doubt of that! Quick, Henry, the plumber’s helper! Our lame excuse for a chief executive boasted that he would make America “great,” but all he has done is make America hate. Don’t look at me – I early voted straight-ticket Democrat, but before that, carefully picked the best Dems to select in the primaries. Now I am stumping like hell for Stacey Abrams, who could make some serious history if she is elected, despite the cowardly machinations of notorious voter suppressor Brian Kemp.
If you haven’t voted, get your arse to the polls! Your vote is your voice, and it counts – and never before has that been so important.

Rachel – There is a name for what Trump is doing. It is “STOCHASTIC TERRORISM.”
Stochastic terrorism is “The use of mass communication to incite random actors to carry out violent or terrorist acts that are statistically predictable but individually unpredictable.”
In other words, you can’t predict from what he says who will do what to whom or when. But you can predict with pretty good certainty that, because of his rhetoric, someone will do something to someone sometime (fairly soon).

Rachel Maddow: Excellent news item with th exposure of the arrests of these Trumpenkrieger (very reminiscent of the Hitlerjugend and other names for their “warriors” (Krieger) the Nazis employed to beat up and kill their opponents in th 1930s) I’m sure Rachel will continue this expose with the pipe-bomb sender and the shootist at the Pittsburgh synagogue.

Cartoon — 1996 hmmm . . . since then, the prison population has grown to 1,945,900 with 6,467,000 in the total correctional population as of 2000 (prison population 2,220,300 with 6,899,000 in the total correctional population as of 2013). It did not take long to almost double the number, and now it is more than doubled. Sad!!! Not a stellar statistic to be known for.
