I’m still feeling pretty burned-out.  I trust that, within a few day’s, I’ll feel more motivated.  In the meantime, I’ll just keep going.  OGIM!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:38 (average 5:29).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Religious Agony:

If they can’t beat the dawg ass Jets, it’s going to be a long year.

Short Takes:

From YouTube (CNN Channel): New climate change report issues stark warning

Unless greedy Republican polluters, both at home and abroad, can be forced to act responsibly, they will kill us all. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube: "Nasty Man" by Joan Baez

I loved Joan as a 1960s protester. I count finding this a joy! Here she is in her prime.  RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From Vox: For the past week, House Democrats have been saying they’ll take over the investigation into Kavanaugh’s background if they win in the 2018 midterms. Five Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee — including ranking member Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) — have called for an investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh. (Kavanaugh has denied all the allegations made against him).

Nadler, who would become committee chairman if Democrats win back the House, made it clear he would like to do a thorough investigation into both the sexual assault and misconduct allegations brought by Christine Blasey Ford and other women, as well as claims that Kavanaugh perjured himself in sworn testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

It is possible that sufficiently egregious criminal findings proven by such an investigation may prompt Roberts, who is very big on institutional reputation, could side with Democrats to force Pervert Kava-Nazi to resign over violations of the Judicial Code of Conduct. That may be our best hope. To convict of an impeachment, we won’t have 67 Senate votes anytime soon.  RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From Our Future: Georgia has purged nearly ten percent of its registered voters – nearly 750,000 people  -from the voting rolls without their ever knowing. Now these voters have just one more day to reregister.

IF YOU VOTE IN GEORGIA, OR KNOW ANYONE WHO DOES, BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE FOLLOWING WEBSITE TO SEE IF YOU OR THEY HAVE BEEN PURGED FROM THE VOTER ROLLS, AND TO GET HELP IN RE-REGISTERING BY TUESDAY. CLICK HERE.

The problem is that even if these voters find out they’ve been purged, unless they reregister by Tuesday, October 9th, they won’t be allowed to vote.

Don’t let Republicans steal your vote!  Enough said? RESIST!!  VOTE BLUE!!

  1. 7:06 Maybe they told the randomizer to look for black and orange, thinking Hallowe’en, and this is what they got? Anyway, lilies are toxic to cats.

    Agony – Well, DAMN!

CNN – Nothing you and I didn’t know. But I think we’re already screaming as loud as we can.

Joan – I once got to use a textbook she had used a few years prior. You remember “The President Sang Amazing Grace from this new album, I hope? And she is still in her prime, as far as I can see.

Vox – I was so glad to see that Nunes hometown paper, which has been endorsing him for 16 years, ripped him a new one this year (and endorsed his opponent, Andrew Janz, a MUCH worthier man.)

    GA – Thank you.

Cartoon – Not enough yet, and not with big enough teeth and claws yet. I recommend a jaguar or a Siberian tiger (that would be poetic justice, wouldn’t it.)

  2. CNN: Scary news, but yes, I’ve known this for quite some time now. We are not being hospitable to Mother Earth, and people seem to be in their own bubble. It’s sad to see it being televised as a warning, though.

YT: Wow! She’s a favorite for sure! Such a TREAT to see JB, I hear ya!!

Vox: Good news if the Dems win back from the midterms. Can’t wait to open this investigation into Kava. He’s one bad seed, imho.
    OF: Georgia!! Do it now!

!! Every hour counts to check and see if you’re on the voting rolls, get in there!!

    Cartoon: What JD said. thx!

We won! What a game. 19-16. Sorry to read your guys lost. Hope that you get your rest, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

Joanne: What a great story, I am proud of what our next generation is doing! ‘OH! The Places They’ll GO!!’
Kudos to the staff, students and parents!! WTG!

*This just in: “The forest was shrieking but the trees kept voting for the axe, as it’s handle was made of wood, and they thought it was one of them.” ~ Linda S. ~

  3. RA: P**s on the Jets!
CNN: Even if this is exaggerated, it is still scary. Hold on tight and hope we survive the ride.
In Georgia, there were “mysterious” blackouts at places where people could register to vote. Then Monday was Colum-bull Day. Coincidence? Maybe – and maybe not.

  4. “Georgia has purged nearly ten percent of its registered voters…”

How is that constitutional & democratic!?!? ?

    • As I understand things, it is legal to purge the voter roll of deceased voters and those who have moved out of state, as well as felons and ex-felons depending on the state.  Due diligence to ensure that those being struck off fall into one of the accepted categories.  The big problem in Georgia is that it is a red state and we all know that due diligence is anathema to Republicans . . . the latest example of this is the Brett Kavanazi confirmation.  Republicans will do anything they need to do to win including disenfranchising voters, especially minority voters who tend to vote Democrat.  Let’s hope that Stacey Abrams wins the 2018 gubernatorial election . .  . black progressive female!

  5. CNN: Makes me sick knowing that tRump and his cronies all call these climate change facts, Fake News. He has rolled back so many of the regulations that Obama had in there regarding clean air quality. Like I had mentioned before, it’s like he’s out to kill us one way or another. YT: Always been a fan of Joan Baez. Still a great singer/writer.VOX: I’m hoping something can come of this. I’m praying the Dems take back the house. Sorry the Broncos didn’t win. Cartoon: I also agree with Joanne’s comment.Take care. Hope you get to feeling better. Thanks TomCat

  6. CNN: As if the weekend wasn’t bad enough, this grim prediction came on top of it. Kavenaugh’s appointment to SCOTUS made it very clear that Republican governments don’t give a damn about the future of their countries, only about accumulating as much wealth in the here and now. However, their way of reasoning is insane: because we’ve all done far too litle and climate change is accelerating, the turning point now lies only 20 years in our future, which is THEIR future too, not only that of their children and grandchildren. What are they going to do with all their money if living becomes unbearable for all and we run out of food and water?
The time to act is now, so vote for a progressive and not or a climate-change denier in November!

Joan Baez: Still going strong, having lost little to nothing of her expressiveness over time.

Vox: Let’s hope this strategy is going to work if Democrats win back the House in November, but even if it would work, Kavanaugh has shown himself to be such a vindictive Drumpfian turd, that it’s doubtful Roberts will convince him to resign. Kavanaugh doesn’t give a sh$t that he gives SCOTUS a terrible name now he’s sitting on their bench; he’s finally got his ultimate job and he’s there to stay.

OF: Republicans steal 10% of the votes an get away with it. And so it continues. ?

  7. There will NOT be “…irreversible damage to the planet.”  There will be irreversible damage to the planet’s capacity to harbor, and nurture life as we know it.  The planet, excuse me, will go right on doing what it has always done, and will eventually clean up all the rotting corpses.  The planet works in long time, has some 5 BILION years ahead of it.  See “The Clock of the Long Now,” by Stewart Brand.
“Nasty Man”: Joan has such a sweet way of telling him that he’s a serious looser.
“…Dixie Down.”: Sadly, Dixie never quite went down, but she’s been festering not quite quietly, in the dark underbelly of the country.  “The North won the war, but the South won reconstruction.”  The tribalism, elitism and the bigotry remain!
VOX: Sounds good to me.  the last thing we need is a failed impeachment!!
Our Future: Despicables!!!  It’s not, Animae, but they do not give a damn; power is what they are interested in, not democracy!

  8. Puzzle — 4:55  Well that is one candelabra that does not provide any light!

CNN — Republicans are too stupid to realise that if the planet goes, so do they!  Money will not save their asses!  Climate change denial is the new holocaust  . . . it will kill every living thing on the planet without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, ideology or species.  I mean no disrespect to the murdered millions of the 20th century Holocaust, nor the survivors.

Vox — “It is possible that sufficiently egregious criminal findings proven by such an investigation may prompt Roberts, who is very big on institutional reputation, could side with Democrats to force Pervert Kava-Nazi to resign over violations of the Judicial Code of Conduct.” — I am curious . . . does the Chief Justice have the power to discipline Associate Justices in egregious cases?  I know that the Senate requires a two thirds super  majority in order to impeach, and as you say, even if Democrats take the Senate, they won’t have a super majority, so how would this happen?

YouTube — I remember Joan Baez and Bob Dylan too from the ’60s but I am just enough younger than many of you, and I reside in Canada, that their import was not the same.  Having said that, the lyrics to the new song are great!  I’d like to have it piped into the WH so that Diaper Don can’t get away from the words unless he leaves the WH . . . permanently!

Cartoon — I hope those pussies have been immunised!  Diaper Don is a foul affliction!
