Kava Nope to Kava Nazi

The hearings to try to insert another Trump fascist onto SCROTUS (Republican Unconstitutional VD) are underway.  Democrats are doing everything possible to delay the process, but I see no way to avoid it, short of a quorum strike.  Kavanaugh has been adept at evasion.  When a Democrat asks a difficult question, Kavanaugh goes off on a tangent, until the Democrats time is expired.  If the Democrat tries to  regain control of his time, Chairman Snake in the Grassley rules that Kavanaugh must be allowed to finish.  Here’s what’s been going on.

Senate Democrats tore into President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee on Tuesday, painting Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh as a narrow-minded partisan as the opening day of his confirmation hearings verged on pandemonium. Dozens of screaming protesters were hauled out of the hearing room in handcuffs.

The verbal brawl began moments after the hearings began. Democrats, furious at being denied access to records related to Judge Kavanaugh, immediately interrupted the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, demanding time to consider tens of thousands of pages of documents released late Monday — the night before the hearing.

Judge Kavanaugh, who finally had the microphone hours later, portrayed himself as an impartial jurist and affable family man…

Even before the hearing, Kava Nazi’s views were clear from the way he treated the father of a murdered Parkland student.

When the choice is fewer guns or dead kids, Kava Nazi has already ruled.

Here’s how the hearings opened yesterday.

The move to adjourn takes Parliamentary precedence over all other business. Snake in the Grassley violated Senate rules by refusing to acknowledge it.

I feel sick from following this travesty.

  1. It’s very unsettling, and the behavior is (as we’ve known all along) is horrendous, and despicable on the R side. Good for the Dems as they battle for our rights!!!
    NOPE, Hell NO, for KavaNope!!!!

  2. We need to fight this creep tooth and nail. Contact your Senators daily – not just phone calls, but also e-mails and postcards. As my father told me, if you lean on anything long enough, it will tip over.

  3. Unfortunately, a quorum strike is not viable either. I’m not an exper myself, but apparently , from folks more knowledgeable than I, a quorum is assumed to exist unless someone present calls for a quorum. If all the Democrats are gone, there will be none left ot call for a quorum, and you know no Republican is going to do it. If they had 33 Republicans and no Democrats present, they’d happily confirm him and never queston whether they had a quorum for a millisecond.

  4. The process of these hearings is exactly what to expect from a majority who could care less what the people want, or need and lack the courage of leadership.
I’m sure the opposition would point to Biden and his behavior in Supreme Court nomination hearings to excuse and contrast their behavior, but it’s not the same and Republicans know it. They also know they can get away with it just as they got away with denying Obama his Supreme Court nominee.
The people need to make clear, in a majority, that they disagree with this behavior in their Senators and that’s not happening. We hear the liberal complaints, but that is brushed off as opposition poor sportsmanship.
The Supreme Court chooses its own cases, so get ready for an assault on abortion and ever other Republican cause over the last 50 years.

  5. It really is a farce, isn’t it. The BBC just reported that Kavenau has declined to say whether he thinks sitting presidents can be made to comply with a legal subpoena. He won’t answer hypothetical questions…He also declined to say if he thought presidents could pardon themselves.

The New York Time had Kavanaugh sayd that Roe was “settled as a precedent of the Supreme Court,” and as such, deserves respect from judges who took note of it. But then he noted a subsequent case, the 1992 case of Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which narrowed the scope of Roe, at the same time that it reaffirmed Roe as a precedent.

A very ambitious, right-wing snake in the grass with a very big ego, could Republicans appoint anyone better for their cause and anyone worse for the country?

    • Very misleading to most people as the “settled law” thing is binding on all lower courts because the Supreme Court settled it.  The Supreme court can also overturn it.  So much for settled law for a potential Supreme Court Justice.

  6. The GOP is the most venal organization in the U.S.A. beyond the KKK.

  7. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) did a masterful job of flummoxing and boxing Kavanaugh in with his line of questioning on the stolen emails from Democrats back in 2002 & 2003.

This has the potential to actually IMPEACH Kavanaugh, assuming he is confirmed.

  8. i watched some of it on our local news! He’s CREEPY!
How can a man who is a father treat another father who lost his child in a shooting, like that?!?!?!
    That speaks volumes!!!

  10. And another;
Tell Senate Democrats: Stand United Against Trump’s Supreme Court Pick.Stop Kavanaugh!

  11. Listening to the hearing, Kavanaugh’s answers seem to be full of denials and cover-ups, along with softball questions and full support from Republicans.

  12. Another fine example of what Republicans do best . . . lie, cheat and steal!

Republicans don’t give a rat’s ass about how they win, just that they win!

  13. Thanks, Hugs, and Amen to all. 35
