This will have to be a short one for two reasons:

[1] I’m concerned that some of us (myself included) our on the verge of overdosing from Schadenfreude with all the good news FINALLY coming out.

[2] I have a doctor’s appointment in less than two hours.

Can’t help but feel I’d be remiss if I did not memorialize the good news of the week in some manner, so I think a sampling of the headlines from major newspapers across the country would be a good way:

So what was Fox news (sic) covering instead of these major stories?

And all I’ve got to say is FINALLY somebody’s covering the giraffe story! And it’s about damn time, too!

And just a quickie note about David Pecker, publisher of the National Enquirer, flipping and spilling lots of sexual secrets on Twitler

Of course, some people say it wasn’t that big of a loss.

    • Yes indeed, a good week for us.  The Wall Street Journal looked a little coy to me, and the Chicago Sun Times a bit frisky (is that paper always that punny?)  Now, the New York Post I expect that from.

The Huffington Post – that MUST have been deliberate, mustn’t it.  (A hundred and fifty or so years ago, BTW, the word still meant “chin.”  Now those he could afford to lose a few of.  But I hope he doesn’t.  I prefer him ugly on the outside to match the inside.)

      • Also, I hope your appointment went well.  I hope if you have no symptoms you were pronounced fine, and that, if you did have symptoms, an accurate cause was found.

        • Ditto That! 23

        • Went fine.  It was just a f/u (medical abbreviation for “follow-up”) appointment.

But pretty sad because my PCP is retiring.  I’m really going to miss her!  I knew her back when I was still practicing, so I was aware this day would come … still sad to see her retire.

          • I have a practitioner retiring this year too. He’ll transfer records to my PCP, so that’s good, but I’ll miss him – and eventually I’ll be facing this with my PCP too, I expect.  I sympathize.  But glad you’re well.

  2. Excellent post !!
My favorite it by the NY Post, ‘Don’s Cons’. GREAT!!! headlines.

Thanks, Nameless for posting, and Joanne for cross-posting.

  3. Amen!  An excellent week and an excellent article. 04

On your last item, great minds fall in the same ditch. 18

  4. A week that will go down in history…with more to come.

  5. Great to see so many headlines which do not make me cringe but rejoice. And tickle my Schadenfreude buds without making me feel guilty. Thank you, Nameless.
