As the heat wave enters it’s worst day, I’m running a bit late.  Store to Door was late delivering my groceries, and I just finished putting them away and eating lunch.  WWWendy is spending a couple days at the beach, and her niece, Katie, is filling in again.  She’s a sweetheart.  My lone complaint is that she lacks the sadism needed to scrub a back properly.  Happy Hump Day!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:23 (average 5:14).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Why Is The Right So Scared Of A Democratic Socialist?

How terrible she is for luring people to spend their tax dollars on what people need, at the expense of the people, who Republicans say need welfare dollars most: billionaires! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube (Remember this?): P!nk – Dear Mr. President (from Live from Wembley Arena, London, England

When Pink first sang this song about GW Bush in December, 2006, I thought he was the worst White House resident in my memory. At his worst, he could not hold a candle to the evil that Trump is today. But remember, as bad as Trump is, he only reflects his Republican Reich. Trump is just the symptom. The Republican Party is the disease. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From The New Yorker: Donald J. Trump’s crusade to revoke security clearances from perceived critics was on display again on Tuesday as he threatened to yank credentials from a man he had previously praised, Frederick Douglass.

It was unclear why Trump had turned on Douglass, because, unlike other targets of Trump’s security-clearance rampage, Douglass had not made disparaging comments about him on cable news in recent weeks.

Trump offered few clues as to the source of his unhappiness with Douglass, but he broadcast his disapproval of the abolitionist in a tweet that read, “HE IS NO LONGER DOING AN AMAZING JOB.”

Dang Andy! Trump is just pissed because he realized that Douglas was black. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

  1. 5:21 Tanzania seems like a long way to go just to get lunch. Even five (or maybe six) lunches.

Well, isn’t this interesting. Four moral leaders including Rev. Dr. Barber have issued a challenge to a public debate to four RWNJ leaders – Falwell, Jeffress, White, and Graham. MSNBC has agreed to provide a venue, but the good guys are open to a change of venue if requested. The premise is that scripture (I Peter 3:15) requires Christians to “give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope you have.”

MSNBC – I’m not worried about the right being scared of a Democratic Socialist. I’m worried about the LEFT being scared of a Democratic Socialist. Unfortunately this is real. The New Yorker has also published on it.

Pink – No, I don’t remember it – I spent 2006 looking for a new job, finally finding one, changing jobs with only one day off between them, and then going into a learning curve. But, fine as it is, it wouldn’t make the tiniest dent in Orange Judas’s ego.

TNY – Does he think he can yank something that never existed? oh, never mind, he probably does.

    Cartoon – AMEN!

    • That debate will never happen.  The pseudo-Christians would see the humiliation coming. 05

      • Oh, I absolutely agree.  But I also admire the way the real Christians have worded it in such a way as to require them to openly defy Christ in order to turn it down.  If there are any people on the fence about this – and there may be a few – then the proposal alone may have a good effect.

  2. MSNBC: Good video, and great discussion. I have no problem/worries with Ms. Ocasio-Cortez at all. I find her honest and refreshing with her platform.

Pink: Love her music, and spot-on song.

NYer: But, Andy, he lives in an alternate world every single day. lol

Cartoon: Yep, round ’em up and send all of them to the border for a ‘vacation’, and summer camp. (It’s hot there, in the hunnerts…)

*Maxine Waters has a new nickname for der Führer it’s “Putin’s Apprentice”. Love her. Now SHE’s got a spine!!! https://www.newsweek.com/maxine-waters-accuses-trump-being-putins-apprentice-1036999
Hope you get all your chores done. Enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. The Rethuglicanazis won’t go unless we Progressives get our arses to the polls and VOTE! Make sure you are registered, make sure your progressive 18+ kith and kin are registered, assist in a voter registration drive preferably in a neighborhood full of marginalized minorities, do your homework on candidates, volunteer to drive people to the polls, and VOTE!!!

  4. WTG Pink?, for reviving her Bush track for trump!!
    TY TC

  5. WRT that cartoon, rather than “Find Waldo” you should have made it “Find a Person of Color”

    Awfully damn white!

  6. Puzzle — 4:05  I am with JD, Tanzania is a long way to go for a rather meager lunch!  Besides, those beaks are sharp!  My Iranian family has 3 love birds and 2 budgies.  I have been bitten several times and it hurts even when the bite is a love bite!

MSNBC — It seems to me that Drumpf was making big promises during his campaign without detailing how they would be paid for and conservatives got behind him and stayed behind him even as he increased the deficit.  Of course one promise he did say how it would be funded — Mexico will pay for the wall.  How’s that whole thing going?  Canada is a democratic socialist country to a degree and we don’t do too badly.  It is encouraging to hear about the lady in Kansas, a Drumpf supporter, who was willing to see other sides.  Perhaps that is the key, one-on-one interactions listening to their individual concerns.  Of course, Faux Noise and other conservative media are going to stoke the fires of fear of the democratic socialists.  Great energy at the rally!

Pink — I do not remember this but then I am not into her music.  Having said that, from the words that I could hear and the videos she used, she reminds me of Joan Baez.  “Trump is just the symptom. The Republican Party is the disease.” — indeed!

The New Yorker — LMAO!!!  Drumpf is such an incompetent fool!!!

    Cartoon — AMEN!!!

Very hot here — yesterday hit 33C (91.5F) and right now it is 23C (74F) with 65% humidity but the worst part of the day is yet to come.  This weekend the temps are supposed to be 35C+ (95F+) so it won’t be pretty. I am seriously considering sleeping on the sidewalk in front of my house!!!!  Hope your AC is up to the challenge! Have to run . . . I’m going out for lunch with some lady friends.

  7. Thanks all.  Hot, late hugs! 26
