It was a very muggy night, and I could not get to sleep, so I’m feeling very tired.  TGIF!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:15 (average 5:51).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Late Show Channel): Profiles In Discourage: Blankenship’s ‘Cocaine Mitch’ Ad

Murderer Blankenship is such a jerk! Everyone knows that Bought Bitch Mitch doesn’t snort coke. He sucks Koch! RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): DOJ Gets Wise To GOP Effort To Tip Off President Trump On Mueller Probe

The House Republicans, who are making these bogus demands, should all be charged with Obstruction of Justice.  RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: The special counsel, Robert Mueller, is actively considering what would be the most appropriate thank-you gift to send to the former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani, a source close to Mueller’s team has confirmed.

According to the source, Mueller and his team were behind closed doors on Thursday morning to discuss the gift and appear to be close to a decision.

“They’ve been around and around on this, but a consensus seems to be forming on a bottle of single-malt Scotch,” the source said.

Moments after the news of Mueller’s gift to Giuliani leaked, however, Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels’s lawyer, indicated that he had already sent Giuliani a single-malt Scotch on Thursday morning and advised Mueller to select an alternative gift, such as Dom Pérignon champagne or beluga caviar.

Dang Andy! Straight News! RESIST!!

  1. 6:59 I don’t think the bee is safe to eat, between the sting and the sugar …

More on Cambridge Analytica, and it’s not good.

VoteVets petition to coincide with NRA Convention

Stephen – Blankenship really must think the voters there are stupid. Every single example he gave to defend his use of “Chinaperson” was NOT constructed like “Chinaperson,” but was constructed with an adjective. Had he constructed his original statement with an adjective, and said “Chinese person,” then it would have been like his examples, and it wouldn’t have been (necessarily) racist. But he didn’t. And he is racist.

DOJ – “The Justice Department has come to suspect…” is certainly an elegant way of saying “The Justice Department is sick and tired of your attempts at manipulation and extortion and therefore finds it necessary to out your asses.”

TNY – Just send a subpoena.

Cartoon – Which one are you?

  2. LSC: Ahhhh….I can’t. Even.!!!! He needs to go before he even gets started !!

MSNBC: Good Lord !! The republicons will do anything short of sniveling, and licking his bedroom slippers to get info back to dt. That’s really creepy, imho.

NYer: A pair of engraved handcuffs, perhaps??

    Cartoon: Brave activists!!

It’s also the anniversary of the Kent State shootings that killed 4. and wounded 9, with divided feelings of many with regards to our involvement in the Vietnam war.

Hope that you get your much needed rest. Enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. “Bought Bitch Mitch doesn’t snort coke. He sucks Koch”
    OMG TC i’m ROTFL!!!! 33

  4. Colbert: Raking Blankenship over the coals…were those the embers from a Chinese Elm?  But, yes Mitch definitely “sucks Koch!” as i’ve been saying!
Rachel:  If I am not mistaken, Manafort’s efforts at judge shopping, have paid off to some extent, with a judge ruling in his favor, today.  “The DOJ has come to suspect..,” that there are treasonous persons in congress? Is an attempt to subvert an investigation into treason a form of treason, in and of itself?  Methinks it is so!
The New Yorker: What justice that this breaking story regarding a former New York icon would come from this sustainable New York Icon! Is Rudy suffering from PTSD related to the 9/11 event that he has said could not have happened before Pres. Obama’s time in office? There used to be an ad, now some decades ago, in the N.Y.C. subway cars, saying, albeit in an unrelated issue, that “A mind is a terrible thing to waste.”  Poor Rudy.

  5. Do you run your AC at night?  It will help to reduce the humidity in your place.

  6. Stephen Colbert: “So now you’re liable for your father-in-law’s crimes? Watch out Jared!” Brilliant. Of course Blankenship’s attack on McConnell in his ad is a load of ??, but as far as Republican ads go, smack in the middle of GOP tradition. So, Mitch might be right to worry about Blankenship getting the nomination. Mitch will now ask Drumpf to endorse Blankenship, that usually does the trick.

Rachel Maddow: In any mature legal system it would be impossible for either the DOJ or other members of Congress to fend of this Republican harassment by filing charges against these Republicans for either obstruction or wasting time of law enforcers themselves, but I hope other groups are looking into it to see if they can take a lead. If Republicans in some states can start impeachment procedures against judges who’s ruling against them they don’t like, surely there must be a way for grass-root groups to do the same for Congress members who truly break the law?

TNY: A beautifully handwritten invitation to coma and have a nice talk with the team under oath, would suffice, Andy.

  7. Puzzle — 6:29  Bee-u-t-i-ful! Easy on the eyes but really hard on the throat if Puddy Tat tries to have bee fricassée.  You might not be able to eat for a week!

Late Show — Blankenship has the charisma of a slug!  He certainly fits in with the rest of the racist and bigoted Republicans!

“…Bought Bitch Mitch doesn’t snort coke. He sucks Koch!”  — ROTFLMAO!!!

MSNBC — “the President’s mindset”?  I thought he lost that along with his hair!

“… it is law enforcement sensitive … letting this memo out would screw this up as a law enforcement matter.” — This push by Republicans, many of whom are attorneys I am sure, flies in the face of credulity.  Republicans know exactly what they are doing and it is shameful.  Obstruction of justice, they name is Republican!

The New Yorker — Andy, Andy, Andy!!!  They should send him the head of Don Blankenship!  That would make McTurtle really, really happy!  Yeah, straight reporting, again!

Cartoon —  Courageous people!  Today’s children owe a lot to the Freedom Riders, but the ride is not over!  As long as there are people willing to subvert the Constitution and other people, there will always be a great need for Freedom Riders!

  8. Thanks all!  Hugs! 19
