When I first heard about the terrorist who killed ten Canadians and injured more in Toronto, the news was blaring that it was a standard tactic of ISEL.  How soon they forgot that Nazi Republican James Alex Fields did the same thing in Charlottesville.  A Republican is anyone who acts like a Republican, so they need not even be from the US.  It turns out that Alek Minassian, the Toronto terrorist, is a very strange kind of Republican.

Before allegedly killing 10 people with a van in Toronto, Alek Minassian appeared to have posted a message on Facebook that linked him to a toxic online community of misogynists that has become the source of a growing pattern of violence.

The Facebook post, which authorities who spoke with NBC News believe came from Minassian, links Minassian to an online community known as “incels,” short for involuntary celibates. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation also reported that Facebook confirmed the authenticity of the post.

Self-described incels congregate mostly online, meeting in forums and message boards like Reddit and 4chan, and its offshoot site 8chan, to discuss their hopelessness with women in posts that are peppered with racist and misogynistic rants. “Chads” are incel-speak for good-looking men, who incels believe can’t be one of them. “Stacys” are the women who find “Chads” attractive.

The Facebook message also refers admiringly to Elliot Rodger, who killed six people in Isla Vista, California, in 2014, and left behind a manifesto and videos detailing his sexual frustration as the motivation for his violence….

Note the ties between Alt-Right Republicans and incels.

I have to admit that Republicans, who hate women and commit terrorist acts, because they are horny boggles my mind.  Men, who are too foul to get sex normally, don’t have to be celibate.  They can do what Trump does: buy sexual services from women.

I hope that Canada puts this Republican away for a long, long time!

RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!!

  1. Republican misogynists are hardly unusual, and I refuse to believe that these incels are killing and otherwise harming women because they are horny. Come on – rapists aren’t horny, and rape is not a crime of sex, but a crime of power with sex as the weapon. The same principle applies here – they need to feel superior to someone – and the fact that they are also racists makes that clear. They seem to have gotten the impression that victims have it good, have it better than they do (many other REpublicans hold the same misconception), and the lengths they go to in order to make themselves out as victims are truly breathtaking. Now, online gaming is in no way responsible for this … but many of these people seek relief in online gaming, and the first most of us saw of them was through “Gamergate.” In case you missed that or don’t remember it, death and rape and torture threats against the courageous women who exposed the misogyny were flying around like mosquitoes in Minnesota (swat one and a dozen more take their place.)

I grant that they are extreme. I don’t consider them unusual.

    • JD, I fear that I failed in expressing what I meant.  I was trying to ridicule their Republican claim that they committed violent acts against women because they were horny by stressing that any guy can buy a hooker’s services.  Republicans are hateful and violent, because they want to be. 08

  2. What Joanne said.

    Thanks, JD & Tom

  3. Canada has been polluted by the US’s sick, poisonous culture.

  4. I totally agree with Freya’s thought.  This is probably directly traceable to the influence of our president pervert.
Not that there have not been men who do not get attention from women, but do these men take any time to look at how they present to women, take any responsibility for their end of the relationship equation?  There are, and probably always have been men who present as less than than the standard “good looking,” who have had healthy, long lasting relationships with women, and vice versa.  And, it is, obviously, not just looks (duh!) that makes a man attractive to women-no, I’m not talking about the stereotype of men with money.  How a man comes across to women, may be more important than anything else.  So, we may have a bunch of misogynists not understanding that they turn women off, and then blaming the women. And so on.

    • Ah!  But these men are Republicans, and, of course, do not see beyond the top of their noses.

  5. Agree with every word Joanne has said. This particular “incel” turned out the worst kind of mysogenist; Alek Minassian was too cowardly to even confront a woman and rape her, and as a Canadian not in the possession of a gun, took the next weapon of choice of these cowards and used a car/van to kill as many innocent women as possible. And all collateral damage (men and children) be damned.

History books are full of descriptions of young men, often old enough to have left home but too young to marry, running in gangs to fight and even murder off their sexual frustrations. Most cities were unsafe at night with gangs of apprentices running amok in the Middle Ages and beyond, when the average age for men to afford to marry was 26 up to 28 in some towns. Political fractions all through the ages have known how to use this hormonal rage to their best advantage. But these day social media like in this case Facebook allow men thus inclined to find each other and edge each other on:

While some posters questioned whether Minassian, 25, was a “fakecel” — the term for someone whose average looks disqualifies him from community membership — most hailed him as a hero of the movement.

“Spread that name, speak of his sacrifice for our cause, worship him for he gave his life for our future,” one poster wrote. (NBCNEWS)

Facebook had removed earlier posts by Minassian which enticed incels to attack women, but Heidi Beirich, the director of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project, “places much of the blame for the growth of hateful incel communities on web forums and social media platforms that don’t proactively enforce rules limiting hate speech.”  (NBCNEWS)

    • “Fakecel” – “looks” – you know that studies have shown that men are turned on by looks alone (and a lot of them not by looks in general, but by the looks of a single body part), but that women are turned on by a variety of factors, and not separately, but in combinations.  If they think, as they seem to, that women are turned on, or turned off, by looks alone, I guess that would explain why they choose to have no personalities (thereby cutting themselves off from any real women who might be in the neighborhood.)

      • Marvellous cartoon, Joanne. I”ll save it for future reference.

Part of why men are having trouble finding (sexual) partners is because they not only fail to understand how women’s psychology works or just bluntly refuse to stop blaming women for faults that are all their own, but also because women have become better educated, are having their own careers and are no longer forced by society to become housewives, dependent on what the man brings in, unless it is by their own choice. Nowadays women in general have become a lot more “pickier” in their choices of partners, looking for one that is an equal to them and no longer for the “provider”. A lot of men, not having learned how to deal with that, now feel challenged by women in general. Call it misogyny, call it frustration or call it incapability to adapt to new demands, these incels all find themselves with the same grudge (#metoo makes it even feel worse for them), bond on the internet and some act out on the fantasies they share there.

      • Isn’t that a bit unfair to men like me, who were sexually popular in our day, and who ceased functioning physically. 05

        • Your mind and heart are both fully functioning, and that is very attractive to women.  Not maybe to bimbos, but to women, if you get my drift.

          • Thanks, but you chicken was referring to getting laid. 12

            • I know by the wink you are teasing me … but it’s doable.  See “A Bed by the Window” by M. Scott Peck.  (Yes, he wrote “The Road Less Traveled” and “People of the Lie” but he also wrote one mystery novel.  One of the characters is loosely based on Stephen Hawking [very loosely, but not so loosely as not to make it obvious].)

  6. Minassian has now been charged with 10 counts of 1st degree murder and 14 counts of attempted murder.  There is no death penalty in Canada thankfully, so Minassian, if found guilty, will be sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for at least 25 years.

    As reported by news1130:

“Judith Taylor, an associate professor of sociology at the University of Toronto, says the men within the so-called “manosphere” tend to be underemployed, uneducated, and unwilling to seek additional training.

“Men who don’t do well in education, and men who are suffering occupationally are the ones who are most susceptible to self-harm and harm of others.  They’re the ones most likely to be forsaken by society.” she says.”

There have been other reports, one of which noted that Minassian “…was the best hire we never hired,” the recruiter told his boss on Tuesday when Minassian’s name surfaced in the news.”

Minassian also enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces but voluntarily resigned after 2 months of basic training.  His résumé is full of short term employment, 6 months at most” so Minassian certainly seems occupationally challenged.

I thought Drumpf would weigh in by saying “close the borders with Canada” or by referring to Minassian as a Muslim terrorist.  All I have heard him express is the usual ‘my thoughts and prayers are with the Canadian people’.  He is probably too pre-occupied with making nice with Emmanuel Macron.  For our part, nobody is saying Islamic terrorist, just a mass murderer who was striking terror in the hearts of those on Yonge Street.

Minassian was arrested about 26 minutes after the incident.  He tried to get the police constable to shoot him, suicide by cop, by goading him and appearing to pull a gun from his pocket.  He was unarmed and the constable eventually arrested him without firing his service weapon.  Amazing what the correct training will produce.

If the incel weren’t on anybody’s radar before, they sure are now.

Can you imagine what Minassian could have done with a super-charged AR-15 and a bumpstock rather than a rental van?  Thank goodness our laws are different!

As an aside, when I lived in Toronto, I lived at Finch and Don Mills which is just east relatively from Finch and Yonge.  I always went to the main North York library at Yonge and Finch.

  7. Thanks all.  Hot as hell hugs! 14
