From All In: Scott Pruitt won’t get a warm welcome at EPA
An enemy of the Environmental Protection Agency has been confirmed as its leader. And the staff is revolting.
Kudos to EPA employees, but they are resisting. Pruitt is revolting… VERY revolting!! If those emails reveal what I think they will, Republicans will have another criminal scandal. RESIST!!
From Daily Kos: The man who was reportedly tapped by Trump to replace the disgraced Michael Flynn as National Security Adviser has said no dice to this administration. Vice Admiral Robert Heyward has reportedly said thanks but no thanks.
Two sources close to the situation confirm Harward Harward demanded his own team, and the White House resisted.
Specifically, Mr. Trump told Deputy National Security Adviser K. T. McFarland that she could retain her post, even after the ouster of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Harward refused to keep McFarland as his deputy, and after a day of negotiations over this and other staffing matters, Harward declined to serve as Flynn’s replacement.
Since then even David Petraeus, who earned the label Betraeus for goose-stepping behind Crawford Caligula, turned the Fuhrer down. Potential appointees in many areas are coming to realize that appointment in the Rectum Reich is a career ender. RESIST!!
From Right Wing Watch: On his “Pass The Salt Live” webcast yesterday, Religious Right activist Dave Daubenmire called on citizens to rise up with pitchforks and torches and arrest that “traitor” Barack Obama for undermining President Trump and trying to “destroy America.”
“Donald Trump, now we know his own CIA, FBI—what do they call those guys? The snoops—they’re not sharing all their information with the president now,” Daubenmire said. “They’re not giving him the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. They’re undermining him at every turn. Why? Well, we have to understand that we’re in a war. We’re at war and to see what President Obama put into place, his desire to destroy America, I think he ought to be arrested.”

Pruitt's job is to shutdown the EPA or at least render it ineffective, which is what a revolt will do.

All In — I have a concern for the employees of the EPA. There is no doubt in my mind that Pruitt is totally unqualified for the position despite what McTurtle says, or because of what McTurtle says, take your pick. But if the EPA staff are revolting against Pruitt, are they endangering the continuation of their jobs? Will Pruitt use their actions as evidence they are not doing their jobs and use that as cause to fire them? It may not matter much as Jerry points out "Pruitt's job is to shutdown the EPA or at least render it ineffective". I know that resisting can be an act of civil disobedience, but there are risks involved in civil disobedience that the employees may not have considered. There are also moral reasons for defiance ie working for an agency that no longer lives up to its name or previously stated goals.

Daily Kos — So Harward says no, and Petraeus is out to replace Flynn. CBS reports that General Keith Kellogg may be the next one tapped. I hope they all say no and that Drumpfenfarten gets the message that nobody wants to be a puppet in a dog's breakfast of an administration!

So many at the EPA are dedicated to actually saving the environment (imagine that!) and will fight hard against #45. Thank goodness.
As for Trump finding a new NSA, he will end up with some sorry piece of crap who falls in line with the rest of the sorry crap. Can't imagine anyone of character or ethics will want anything to do with the Rump admin.

AI: Sigh, another sad day for American democracy. These hearings are nothing more than a charade; the nominees can lie their asses off, following in the footsteps of their aster, and the Republicans close ranks, let them get away with it and vote them in. Sometimes some DINOs join in because they thinks that'll keep them in their seats at the midterms. Republicans care nothing for America, no matter what they say, just for the fast dollar, and if the country was under a glass dome, I couldn't care less that the country choked on it's own poison and natural disasters, because it has given Republicans all the power they need to destroy America, and sadly the rest of the world too. I hope the staff at the EPA revolts big time, I mean really big time. Because it's now or never; Pruitt will have the EPA dismantled within weeks and may outlive his e-mail scandal, just as the GOP intends to have him do.
DK: At last some news that gives a bit of hope. But the vacancy and each new refusal to fill it is a distraction from what is happening meanwhile in Congress. Drumpf's Reich will crumble and fall, but only after the Republicans have got most of the things they wanted in place. Be extremely vigilant and resist!
RWW: It's the end of my weekend and I'm not getting on my Free Speech hobby horse again, but just remark that our Geert Wilders got himself a conviction for inciting hate; it wasn't even for inciting violence like this.
