Why the Fuhrer Purged State

Yesterday I published an articl starting that career professionals had quit State rather than serve under the Fuhrer.  My source and my conclusion were both incorrect.  The truth is that they were purged.  The question is this: Why would the Fuhrer gut State like that when all were nonpartisan experts, who had served under both Democratic and  Republican administrations?  In my view, the answer is to get people likely to object to policies that favor Russia’s interests over our own and replace them with ringers that have Putin’s personal seal of approval, like the Fuhrer’s nominee for Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson.

The entire senior level management team at the State Department was fired by President Donald Trump’s administration this week, CNN reported Thursday.

Senior administration officials told CNN’s Elise Labott that four top State Department staffers were informed in letters sent by the White House that their service was no longer required. The pro forma resignation letters typically submitted by the heads of federal agencies at the start of new administrations were accepted.

The Washington Post previously reported that undersecretary for management Patrick Kennedy stepped down unexpectedly Wednesday after nine years in his role, and Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Anne Barr, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Michele Bond and Ambassador Gentry O. Smith, director of the Office of Foreign Missions, all followed suit. The four officials, who have served under both Republican and Democratic administrations, are charged with managing the agency and overseeing its staff diplomatic posts abroad… [emphasis added]

How this ties into the Hitler-Stalin relationship between Trump and Putin, I learned from Rachel Maddow.  It takes her two clips and over twenty minutes to get there, but please take the time to view these.  When you’re done, you’ll understand, and I trust you’ll agree.

We have never had more concrete evidence that Donald Trump is a "Siberian Candidate" in thrall to and in the service of a foreign adversary.

  1. I saw Rachel earlier and my thoughts were "How much more of a smoking gun do you need?" and "But the mainstream media will never cover this."  The thought of people just "disappearing" is terrifying to me, and it has happened in many other countries – certainly all over Latin America, to the point where "desaparecido" now has a dictionary definition.  It WILL happen here.  I am sure of it.

The purge – both groups had so much to gain from being rid of each other that it's understandable that the initial reports were conflicted.  That said – it is another warning.  Will anyone pay attention?

  2. Trump is a treasonous fool.  You have to watch what they do, what they say is a distraction, that has always been true but never more so than now.  Rachel is on point with this.  Donald J. Trump is not just incompetent, he is a clear and present danger to the United States of America. The purge at the State Department IS reminiscent of the way Russia, the Soviet Union and other fascist, communist enemies of our Republic have acted in the past.  And now, it happens here?  Unchallenged?  What have we become since 11/9/16?

  3. Holy S–T!!!
This is unbelievable! and Frightening, for us all.

DT should be fired/impeached immediately! imho.

  4. New Yorker:  Very funny!  I just posted a piece, at C2, about the Empty Orange alredy starting to peel apart, its having become increasingly evident in Washington, D.C.

"The founders of the school of thought out of which Fascism has grown all have certain common characteristics.  They seek the good in WILL rather than in feeling or cognition; they value POWER more than happiness; they prefer force to argument, war to peace; aristocracy to democracy; propaganda to scientific impartiality." Bertrand Russell, in a collection of essays, called "In Praise of Idleness."

  5. Such despicable actions by an ignoramus! It is gonna be a long time till Drumpfenfarten is impeached!

  6. Oh dear – I did wonder when those senior people in the Treasury were said to have resigned en masse – 'did they fall or were they pushed' – it now seems they were pushed.  Almost as though a Night of the Long Knives was starting.

Trumps administration declare that the media is the opposition?  Especially after how they controlled most of the media in their election campaign?  Just goes to show that you should not roll over in front of these bullies to appease them or they will do worse – appeasing them just does not work.

Brilliant Rachel Maddow videos, thank you TC.   If people are disappearing again, things are getting very bad indeed.  (BTW I don't really think that Trump would need to be blackmailed to do what Putin wants – but maybe they just wanted to be sure).

I too thought that the disappeared Russian officer did not help Trump (for Putin would have approved of that) but that he might either have leaked the information re Russia influenced the election that the West got hold of, or be some poor soul picked out to be an innocent scapegoat – but then as Rachel said, if Russia had done nothing, why would they act, they'd just ignore the story.

Maddow, first video – am I being picky?  The inestimable Ms Maddow made a slight faux pas – the Nobel Peace Prize is given in Sweden, not Norway.

It does seem rather like The Manchurian Candidate – oh dear!

    • Per Alfred Nobel's will, the recipient is selected by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, a five-member committee appointed by the Parliament of Norway. Since 1990, the prize is awarded on 10 December in Oslo City Hall each year. The prize was formerly awarded in the Atrium of the University of Oslo Faculty of Law (1947–89), the Norwegian Nobel Institute (1905–46), and the Parliament (1901–04).

  7. What on earth happened at the beginning of that?  I didn't do it, I promise you!  (Emoticons???!).

  8. Truth is the enemy of fascism.  Without any doubt in my mind, Drumpfenfarten is completely unacquainted with truth, and like Putin, will try to stifle dissent, no matter in what form.

    Rachel makes good points.

  9. Rachel Maddow wouldn't come out with this if she and her team hadn't researched it from all possible angles and weren't absolutely convinced that they have their facts straight and there's something going on in Russia AND America. But I think it would be a mistake to focus too much on Drumpf in this. He's a dangerous psychopath but he's not the brains behind all this, he hasn't got the brains to be behind all this. For that we have to look towards the GOP and their masters. Yesterday I commented on the speed with which things are pushed through in Washington and I'm going to repeat it because I think it is pertinent to the speed with which senior officials have been fired too: " The speed with which America is turning into a fascist country is truly breath taking. It also makes me realize this can only happen because a large group of people have been preparing this for a number of years and are now rolling out a carefully worked out and detailed plan. Oh, the wording may be off here and there, spelling mistakes made and typos abound, but the plan was ready from the start. The GOP? The Koch brothers? Any suggestions?

I was commenting on a Trump administration executive order to of revive C.I.A. “black site” prisons, but it could be said of all the executive orders, purges and gaging orders of departments and of the GOP "opposing" any Drumpf candidate for his cabinet until it's time to vote or any investigation into Putin's influence on Drumpf then and now: it all seems too well orchestrated to  be of Drump's making. All he and his advisors are allowed to do is create diversion upon diversion with their insane actions and statements. Rachel is spot on: don't react to everything they say, look at what's really going on!

  10. Excellent point observed by Lona above:
"He's (TRUMP) a dangerous psychopath but he's not the brains behind all this, he hasn't got the brains to be behind all this. For that we have to look towards the GOP and their masters.
