RepubliCare Cowards

I remember 2008 when Barack, Obama made the mistake of trying to negotiate with Republicans over ObamaCare, how they stalled while pretending to negotiate in goods faith.  Then all expenses paid Republican operatives toured the  country attacking Democrats, who courageously stood up to the abuse,  in their town hall meetings.  Eight years later, the tables are turned, with a few changes.  The Democrats (and some Republicans) trying to keep Republicans from destroying their health care are not paid operatives.  And the Republicans trying to destroy ObamaCare are cowards.

President-elect Donald J. Trump and congressional Republicans appear to have accomplished a feat that President Obama, with all the power at his disposal, could not in the past seven years: They have galvanized outspoken support for the Affordable Care Act.

People who benefit from the law are flooding Congress with testimonials. Angry consumers are confronting Republican lawmakers. And Democrats who saw the law as a political liability in recent elections have suddenly found their voice, proudly defending the law now that it is in trouble.

Thousands of people across the country held rallies over the weekend to save the health care law, which Republicans moved last week to repeal with a first but crucial legislative step. A widely circulated video showed Representative Mike Coffman, Republican of Colorado, eluding constituents who had wanted to meet with him to express their concerns on Saturday at a community event in Aurora, Colo. Rallies on Sunday to save the health law drew robust crowds around the country… [emphasis added]

From <NY Times>

Lawrence O’Donnell covered both Cowardly Coffman and other protests against the Republican War on Health Care.

You can be sure that The Fuhrer’s response is rat shit.  His transition team is alrerady walking it back.

There’s a reason Republicans are so cowardly.  They know that all they have to offer is RepubliCare, whose only notable featured is the RepubliCare Death Benefit.  If you’re rich enough to pay for health care, you get health care.  If not, you get to die free, and the Republican Party won’t charge you a penny more.

  1. news is saying tRump promising health care for all, but not willing to say how…….I am worried he will get rid of exchanges, keep the ACA "tax penalty" and require buying health insurance?!

why won't minority elect tRump give any details???? I suspect its because he is lying

  2. Concern for this in every state, every town, and for our ailing/sick citizens of this Country.
I have family members that are very, very worried and concerned about the Repugs doing this!

    This makes me physically ill.

  3. Yeah.  You get Merkley and Wyden.  I get Coffman.  (True, he's not my district, but mine is worse.)  He does claim he met with 70 people, four at a time (math-challenged I guess.)  And as for the Pumpkin Prevaricator – talk is cheap.  Insurance is expensive.

The truth is the Republicans WANT us all to die.  They just can't admit it until after  it happens, because, still alive, we can vote against them.

  4. Geezzz – you're rushing them.

They've only had six years, nine months and 26 days to put together their heralded "REPLACE".

    </snark>

  5. If they want to save money fix the bill.

Silly me – that will cost them and their pimps.

Soooooo expect bad because that's what's coming day in day out.

  6. Warms the cockles of my heart, it does, to see the GOPigs running, sneaking, ducking!  Collective bunch of dung!

  7. Sneaking out the back door like rats fleeing a sinking ship!

If Republicans had a health care plan other than the the Republicancare death benefit, they would have said so even if it had to be "leaked" and they had to feign to be all hot and bothered about the leak.  They don't have a plan and people that voted for them are finding out now what a bunch of lying bastards they are.

The beginnings of buyers' remorse?  Maybe.

    Resist!!!

  8. Oh, GEEZ! Republicare? Is that supposed to replace Medicare? I'll pass!!! Just leave me where I am and go on to the next poor soul you are trying to bleed dry!!!

  9. Has no one ever wondered why Republicans are in such a hurry to repeal the ACA, de-fund PP and that whole list of other stuff they're pushing through before Drumpf is even no-one's president? I really believe Pence and McConnell are warming up in the wings, ready to drop Drumpf as soon as they have everything in place the way they like it, then take over and have him take the blame for all their machinations and come out the heroes who saved America from disaster. Drumpf is their fall guy, and he's just too stupid to understand.

I think that in all our cases the more we learn about how to naturally restore such health as we can, and prevent illness, the better off we will be where ever we live in the world, as our health care systems creak and falter – or someone takes an axe to them.  Granted I'm not making much progress here but I do try every day – and this becomes more urgent for anyone where they are going to repeal Obamacare.

I cannot help thinking about that poor stupid young woman quoted in the Daily Kos a few weeks ago – a dyed in the wool Republican she voted Repug even though they said they would repeal the Affordable Care Act – and THEN she worried about healthcare and hoped they wouldn't repeal it.  I don't know what gets into people's brains, I really don't, that makes them not see the consequences of their actions – but there is a section of the population the world over that does the same thing.

  11. Lawrence O'Donnell also mentioned the "deep hostility" we feel for Rump – I  suggest that expands to include most Republicans as well.   As for Rump's health plan – he also promised to release his taxes if elected and to divest his holdings and to clear up his wife's immigration story – so most likely just one more thing  addded to the "never happen".

  12. The best solution is to "repeal" (RECALL) all of those congresscritters at the ballot immediately. Call for a special election to take those congresscritters who want to repeal ACA out of office immediately!

Another idea is to march to the congresscritter's office en masse and demand that person NOT to repeal the ACA. .

The same tactic can also be used for Planned Parenthood as well.

  13. Thanks, hugs, and amen to all!
