Here is the eighty-sixth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honorees are Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian Talibangelists Don and Mary Colbert. . They are so honored for their so-called prophetic endorsement of Rump Dump Trump and proclamation that Hillary Clinton is the Anti-Christ.
With Trump at the top of the Republican ticket, evangelicals are really having to step up the rhetoric in order to cover their candidate’s deficiencies. A few are stepping up to the task.
Snake oil salesmen Don and Mary Colbert appeared on Jim Bakker’s television show to warn viewers about Hillary Clinton and her inheritance of President Obama’s title as the antiChrist.
"That spirit of Antichrist is majorly on one of these candidates, and that’s Hillary Clinton," warned Colbert. "Jesus even said there will be many Antichrists in the world; well that spirit of Antichrist is on our president right now. So as Christians, we have got to turn out and vote. If we don’t turn out and vote, we are electing Hillary Clinton."

However irrational, they are likely to quoted as a credible source by a very small minority on the left, possibly even by some who are atheists.

Ba-a-a-a-rf! Aaa-a-a-a-rgh! Ra-a-a-a-alph! OK, I'm back from the porcelain altar now. I think I prefer the Dixie Chicks take. Particularly their touring backdrop of Donald Trump with devil horns. BTW, I must express my sympathy to Stephen for having to share a surname with these POS. Just between us, my mother's mother's maiden name was Koch, so I know how it can hurt.

Would take more time (and interest) than I have, but it looks like Jim Bakker still has SOME type of 501(c)3 [tax deductible] status. There's no way THIS show would qualify, to my mind.

It is not possible for the IRS to investigate even the most blatant abuses of 501(c)3 if it is a "church" or "religious" exception. The reason the this is that in the early oughts Congress passed a reorganization of the IRS but neglected to change the titles used for the upper levels. Some phony church that they tried to investigate sued the IRS on the ground that they were not authorized to investigate because the official named in the law who could initiate that type of investigation was not the official who initiated this investigation (because that title no longer existed) – and they WON! Since then the IRS has themselves completely rewritten the document to get the titles "right," and has been trying to get Congress to pass the changes, and Congress has not done so. So, until and unless Congress acts, the IRS has no investigative power WRT religious organizations. I do not understand why more people are not angry about this.

When I first researched this, I had dates, names, places, current and proposed texts from the Congressional record, a complete smoking gun. If I can find all that again maybe I need to bring in the Furies.

I did not watch the video, can't afford any Maalox moments right now. These pseudo Christians and others of their ilk spread false information, using Christ as their verification, only to raise money. Someone needs to tell them what Christ did to the money changers.

Don and Mary Colbert are typical, to me stereotypical, talibangelists who say anything to draw attention to themselves and get more money flowing in for their snake oil. And as the sheeple who watch these programs are dumbed down Republicans, they'll just transplant their Antichrist spirit from Obama to Hillary, because they're to stupid to think up something new and this has worked for them before. Or rather, now they clone their Antichrist spirit and spread it thinly across Democrats for convenience, because they can't call someone the Antichrist one day and have him stop being that when someone else is in need of that title, can they.
