Almost every week, Republicans join a competition to see who can say the most outlandish things, and in the process, they push the envelope on just how vile InsaniTEA can become.  I trust that you will believe it, when I tell you that last week was no exception.

Trump spokes-clown insists the Klan killed black people to "further the progressive agenda."

GOPRacismDonald is not entirely alone in his narcissistic, self-reinforcing bubble. And he can’t be everywhere at once. So, he has his minions and sycophants to help make his bizarre case to the world.

One of these mouthpieces is a helmethead by the name of Jeffrey Lord, who went on CNN to make the most specious of claims about the KKK in a discussion with Van Jones.  The utterly reasonable and ever sane Jones did nothing but speak sense, patiently explaining to Lord that the KKK is a terrorist organization that kills people on the basis of their race, and Donald Trump, proud anti-terrorist that he is, ought to acknowledge that.

Inarguable, right?

Not to Lord, who used his TV time to claim that it is Democrats who divide people on the basis of race, and that the Klan "killed black people to further the progressive agenda.

We, and all the world’s reasonable people, (and Trevor Noah) call bullsh*t.

Just stop, fool. Just stop.

  1. 1.  In a way he has a point – but he doesn't understand it himself.  The administration of a calm, collected, intelligent, rational BLACK man did bring all the racists out from under their rocks, and they did push Trump to the top.  But that was not due to weakness or incompetence – it was because racists couldn't stand seeing a BLACK man who is better (far better) then they are.

Calling him down for being calm suggests that the ideal President is a hothead – vide Trump.  But seriously, has there EVER in history been a time that ANYONE thought a leader should be a hothead (outside of maybe armed revolutions)?

    2.  Well, this alone shows what deep, deep doo-doo McCain is in.  I personally will welcome Ann Kirkpatrick to the Senate.

    3.  "Trump asserted, 'nobody has done so much for equality as I have,' bcause his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago is 'totally open to everybody.'"  Or, as Colbert would say, world hunger is over because I just ate.

    4.  NAFTA and climate change HURT Detroit.  A right-wing city manager DESTROYED Detroit – exactly as he was sent in to do.  NAFTA may have been passed under Clinton I, but anyone who thinks it is in line with liberal policy is crazy.  Or at the very least, "You keep using that word.  I do not think it means what you think it means."

    5.  The Klan "killed black people to further the progressive agenda"???  Hey, Jeffrey, Lord is only your name, it's not your title or status.  You can't manufacture your own facts or even make actual words mean what you want them to.  (Incidentally I do love Van Jones.)

    • Your analysis of Bobby Jindal's point is spot-on, Joanne. It may sound very harsh, but Drumpf isn't the most dividing force in America, the presidency of Obama is. In hindsight America wasn't ready for a black man in the White House and the fact that he is one of the most competent presidents America has known in decades only made things worse. Racism wasn't removed from American society as we liked to believe, it had gone underground and Obama's administration has brought it to the surface again. Obama's presidency has rekindled the fire that had been left smoldering and the Republicans fanned it. Drumpf is only using the fire to his advantage by turning it into a blaze.

      • Sad but true

      • Lona, you have a grasp of the American political system that most American people dont even TRY to understand!!!

      • Yes, you do get it! But, racism was never removed from American society.  I believe it was Scalia, of SCOTUS infamy, who ckaimed that it was over, as part of a bogus excuse for a ruling.  Or, it was a major GOPig figure, for a similar kind of reason having to do with non-equality.

    • I totally agree with you on Jindal.  The racists had been keeping their hatred simmering and having a black man in office was more than they could bear.  If Clinton wins this election, the women haters will be out in full force, too.  Wait, they are there all ready, I forgot about their devoted destruction of Planned Parenthood.

  2. 1. Bobby Jindal is completely inept in helping the Republican establishment turn the tide and not have to nominate Drumpf as their candidate. Even falling back on the old "Blame Obama Routine" doesn't make any difference, the monster they've created is alive and out there wreaking havoc.

    2. Oh no, not Palin's unrelated soundbites again! What is that woman talking about? And Tantaros with her "if your not with us, you're against us and our enemy aka as liberal" isn't much better, is she.

    3. Drumpf's “nobody has done so much for equality as I have,” … They should make a video compilation of ALL his statements, with "they should have roughed him up" when a Black Lives Matter protester was dragged off, followed by this beauty. I know, it's going to be a very long video and a very difficult one to get through unharmed, but we owe it to prosterity.

    4. Well, it was clear from the last two debates: Drumpfitis is contageous. The first symptoms are lying and making things up on the spot, so we now know Cruz has cought it too. Next he'll be wanting to talk about the size of his willy too.

    5. This particular incident reminded me of a few years back, when I was a novice at PP, and I was confused about American politics after seeing the movie "Lincoln".In the movie the Republicans (Lincoln) were voicing distictly Democratic views, while the Democrats were the conservatives of that time. I remember asking here if Democrats and Republicans have switched in political position in the time since Lincoln and was explaned how it happened. So I was rather amused to see Trevor Noah do exacly the same to show how absolutely nonsensical Jeffrie's Lord's rant was. But a modern-day Republican of course has absolutely qualms with picking and chosing tidbits from history and distort them to suit his needs. Drumpf couldn't have picked a better spokesman, he almost believed his own BS, just like his boss does.

    • Arrrgh… excuse the abominable spelling and typos, the speller quit on me, showing my true grasp of the English language.

  3. Just as every man's death diminishes us all (thanks Donne), anyone being denied rights and freedoms diminishes our own rights and freedoms…that is the danger of inciting a racial divide–we all lose

  4. Godwin's Law be damned …

But Bobby Jindal trying to blame Pres. Obama for the rise of Herr Drumpf is like someone trying to blame Jews for the rise of Adolf Hitler.

  5. Well, they all did a 'Thelma & Louise' this week, and drove the ID car straight off the cliff. Scary, indeed.

Did anyone see this? ''Trump under fire for bizarre moment he made voters swear an oath at his public rally as Louis C.K. compares him to Hitler in scathing open letter''

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3478530/Comedian-Louis-C-K-compares-Trump-Hitler-calling-insane-bigot.html

    • I read that yesterday and saw a short vid . . . I was just flabbergasted!  The temerity of Trump to do that, and the stupidity of people to follow through as if there were a penalty for not doing so.  One more Hitleresque nail for his coffin so to speak.

    • I think the optics of that "swearing" were spoton!

Herr Drumpf – If the Brownshirt fits, wear it!

  6. I never can bring myself to click thru to for the rest of the "five RepukkklicanTs vile moments"! I just can't do it!

Trevor Noah got them good all week LONG!!! I enjoyed all the Daily Show's riffs on the elephants in the running!!!

  7. When I saw the Alternet's article, on e-mail, I chose not to look at it, as I had ony recently eaten.  Now, I have been able to look at the insanity to which they point with some safety.  From Palin, to Jindal, and the rest, I wonder why no one has previousy recognized that these are the extra-terrestrial aliens we have long heard about…from some distant, distant universe…with its very own rules of physics and logic!

  8. I know that all Republicans are not vile, I just think they are misguided, but their present leaders are mostly all vile!

Bobby Jindal:  Idiot, I still cannot believe he got a Rhodes Scholarship, it must have been a mistake.  The people of Louisiana learned very quickly what a mistake they had made by electing him.

Trump: Vulgar, narcissist, spoiled little rich boy, appealing the baser instincts of his followers.

Palin and Tanterros: Two more idiots that I wonder how they find their way home at night.

Cruz:  He has evidently been sipping the kool aide, but if he gets elected we must all be prepared to become evangelical because he, you know, has been annointed.

Jeffrey Lord:  His appearance on CNN is further proof that they are faux lite.

  9. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. — Albert Einstein

Republicans have not figured this out yet.  They continue with their sordid policies, one after another, time after time, all without regard for "we the people".  There will be a revolution and Republicans won't like it.

"You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."  — Abraham Lincoln

These five Republican moments, and others like them, are why a revolution is necessary.

  10. Thanks all!  Hugs!!  Would that 20% of Americans knew 20% as unch about US politics a Lona!!!!!
