Raindrops keep falling on my head–I want to celebrate, how about you?

Who'da thunk Georgia would be first?

REMEMBER TO VOTE

What's on the ballot?

does that mean we want only good and promising news for the day?

Why The FBI Is Suspending Its Anti-Extremism Program

http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2015/11/02/3718376/fbi-temporarily-suspends-anti-extremism-program/

Why'd I think it was from an accidental GOP budget cut?

And here's a different kind of GOP cut–is it permanent?

  1. I couldn't get any link to open.  So sorry.

    • You need to copy and paste into your browser.

      • Thanks Jim…I did spend a few minutes trying to find the button again last night and then gave up as I got sleepy…

    • Raindrops: It's good to hear it's finally raining in California, Judi, at least in Sacramento, but I suppose California needs many more days of normal rain – not downpours, because that'll just all wash away making matters worse – to counter the effects of  the drought a little bit. Keeping my fingers crossed it keeps raining in just the right amount to be of use.

Route 21: I agree, I wouldn't think Georgia to have the first designated biking route in America. I had assumed it had other priorities to spend their money on, like maintenance of existing roads or Health Care or… anything really, but if it is a beautiful and doable route it'll attract a lot of cycling tourists, both from inside America and from Europe. Tourism can be a good source of income for a state.

Election 2015: Let's hope Democrats are coming out to vote this time on these issues that are right up their lane. I'd love to see some reports on the results of these elections too, Judi.

FBI Ant-Extremism program: The FBI was justly criticized for targeting Muslim extremism only and instead of taking this to heart and extend the program to also include right-wing militancy, the FBI simply suspends the program. This only confirms that the program was wrongly named Anti-Extremism program and should have been called Anti-Jihad or Anti-ISIS program instead. That was all that the Republicans wanted from this program so you may be quite right in assuming, Judi, that they weren't going to spend any money on setting it straight and giving into Muslim demands, however fair, but chose to cut it off completely. It'll probably go underground/CIA now.

New Jeb slogan: If I were Jeb, I'd quit spending more money on a new slogan, especially on one so ridiculous and desperate as this one. If I were Jeb, I'd quit…

Women recognized: That started off really well, all these women should definitely be recognized, put in the spot light and praised for what they are doing. And if it was by any other institute or newspaper or whatever than self-serving l'Oreal, who's only interest is to promote their line of beauty products that stand for exactly the opposite of what these women selflessly have achieved, I would have cheered too.

    • You can also open the link by selecting the whole link text and then clicking the RIGHT mouse button and chose "Open link" or "Open link in new Tab" from the menu.

      • But the "Select + right-click" only works in Firefox, & Chrome has something similar "Go to …"

It does not work in IE.

        No idea about Macs

      • Learned something new today with Lona's tip. It worked! Awsome! A new trick for an old doggie like me. lol. Thank you, Lona. Hugzzz.

  2. Raindrops: We finally got some rain early this AM. But, it is not enough to help the state with its climate drought.

Bicycle: If I were younger and had the time, I would love to try this cycle route. Alas, age has caught up with me. Darn it all. lol.

REMEMBER TO VOTE; Nothing here in Sonoma nor for state-wide elections as far as I can tell. There are, in various towns, cities, for its own local election ballots.

Think Progress: FBI: The FBI does not need to drop its anti-extremism program. They need to refocus. The FBI needs to go after Faux News and label it as a hate and as a terrorist group. There was a petition to take action from the Southern Poverty Law Center and Color of Change awhile back. Both appeared to be closed now.

Mother: Jeb "Dumya" Bush's new slogan is "Jeb Can Fix It". He cannot possibly fix his own continuing political spiral downwards. Jindal has overtaken and passed Bush in the standings in Iowa.  Best thing Dumya can do for USA is to drop out of the race. The majority of the people do not want him anywhere near the White House!

    Twitter hashtag:

    Poster seen: Jeb!
    …………………  2016
    ……………*Just Elect Bernie

    Made me laugh! lol!

Upworthy: Awesome women doing incredible things, projects for others in their communities. They all should be honored for their works!

    • The Mother Jones' rejoinders to "Jeb can fix it" were priceless …

And your Twitter ones were even better!

  3. Georgia is a surprise, but can ANYBODY ride their bikepath,or does one have to have a special phot ID?

I expect that Jeb would not be able to fix his…well, nevermind!  Jindal is ahead of Jebby, who would'a thunk?  Jindal is seen, by some, as a viable candidate? OMG? What have we come to?  Can you imagine a Carson/Jindal ticket?  Dumb and dumber?  Really, I'm having trouble getting my mind around this!

    I have to go now!

  4. Glad for CA rain – despite growing up on "It never rains in California" as a tourist selling point LOL.

I would have expected a phenomenon called a "U.S. Bike Route" to be a Federal product – in which case it could have been anywhere.  But I see instead it is several states in cooperation.  Well, good luck to them, and may they be much imitated.

I already voted and have an email receipt to prove it.

The FBI has always ignored right wing extremism.  As a result there keeps being more and more of it.  I haven't changed my opinion that the FBI, CIA, NSA, and TSA should ALL be trashed and we should start completely over again.  With the caveat that we probably need a Democratic President and Democratic majorities in the House, Senate, and Supreme Court to build it right.

David Corn had quite a lot to say about Jeb.  But perhaps the funniest thing is that he forgot to reserve the domain name.  Ooops!  (Jeb is best at fixing things that ain't broken  – like elections.)

Why do I have the nagging feeling that L'Oreal is trying to buy respect?
