The first day of autumn is here in the northern hemisphere with the promise of cooler days and nights, and maybe even some gentle rain to quench a savaged earth.

Enjoy Autumn Images

and for our friends in the southern hemisphere it is the beginning of spring . . . YIPPEE!!!  The promise of warming days, new foliage and flowers!

Time to celebrate the autumn or spring equinoxes, depending on where you live!

  1. Amen!  And coupled with the progress TC is making, much easier to celebrate!

  2. Almost time for our annual disagreements over Daylight Time.  I will surely hate to see it go.  Standard in the winter makes my life much more of a burden.

    • Sorry, but I wish we never had it to begin with.  I loathe Daylight Saving Time!

A good deal of it was spending summers on my uncles' farms.  The cattle and hogs did NOT observe DST – so it served no useful purpose for us.

      • The thing I hate the most with DST is that now sunset and when our restricted watering begin are about the same time so it is very hard to hand water or stop drip systems earlier based on visual information…

  3. I welcome Autumn and sweater weather. I wish all a healthy and happy season.

  4. autumn….my favorite season of the year

  5. Here where I live in Texas, days still 90's, and low 70's for night time.

    No rain yet.

  6. Autumn has weather wise been with us all through last month. Rain, hail and storms. Still it's going to be one of those things I'm going to miss terribly when we move to subtropical climes in Oz in a few years time. The changing of seasons is something that's in my blood and has determined the rhythm of my life for too long to really adapt to a new one.

  7. I love autumn, hate winter and loathe DST.
