    TC UPDATE                       TC UPDATE

I spoke to the hospital staff this afternoon and there is some good news and bad news: TC was transferred from one hospital to another for specific care reasons and remains in very critical condition.  He is in need of your prayers, thoughts, and karma to help with his recovery.

    • Hi there,

I am an old friend of Tom Cat, and he hasn't written in awhile and I am starting to worry. Can someone please tell me what is wrong.

      Jen

      • Jen, Tom Cat has been in critical condition in hospital since about 07 Sept 2015 but being well looked after.  For his privacy, we are not releasing any further information.  You can send him a card as noted above and when he is well enough, I will read them to him if he wants that, or I will send them to him.

In the interim, Nameless and I are keeping the blog going (I am Squatch, a name TC gave me). He gave us publishing rights about 3 years ago.  There are 2 others, JL A and Joanne D, that do a lot of work behind the scenes with the blog and other related things.

At this point, TC could use all the prayers and good thoughts that you can muster.

        • Thanks Lynn. I had a feeling something was up and came here to find out if my gut feeling was right. If you ask Tom about me he will confirm our friendship, if he is able. Please keep me updated on his progress. You can reach me at: the_art_muse@hotmail.com Thanks so much Jen

  2. Thanks Lynn–this new post should help more people find the information.  I'll check back in after my appointments, too.

Right now cards are one thing we can do that can make a difference in his recovery, so I encourage those of you who can to send them.  If you cannot, please share wishes/prayers/etc. you might include in a card here for him.

    • We are working on getting some kind of a summary of wishes and prayers left here forwarded.

    • Thanks Lynn for your faithful attention to these posts.  Still praying and sending imaginary kitty hugs since I can't send him virtual kitty hugs while he's off-line.

  3. Thanks to Lynn for the timely update. Much appreciated.

    Hugzzz…

  4. Well, it has been over a week since any new news of TomCat has leaked out.  I don't know it I should be encouraged or discouraged by this.  I want to stay positive, so I will assume that No News is Good News.

  5. Does anyone know what hospital that he was moved to? Any chance of anyone getting hold of them to check up on him?

Just wondering. Peace, Love and Hugs for EVERYONE that is worried about TC. I hope he will be back soon!

    • Lynn and company are staying in touch with his hospital.

      • Is it proper to send our cards directly to him at the hospital? For those of us in USA the mailing cost is less and the card would arrive faster. But a card is on the way anyways to the address already given. I hope they placed it on a plane and not a boat…..sometimes my friends in Nova Scotia would get their mail from me 3 weeks later. Sigh.

        • Sorry Sheryl, we are trying to protect TC's privacy which is why I offered my address to funnel cards to.  Too many calls and cards might make it difficult for staff and TC during the recovery period.

  6. Doesn't feel right being above TC on the "Top Commentators" list!

  7. Sending my card tomorrow, tell TC he is in my prayers.

  8. Sorry – too ill to leave the house for years, so I can't send a card – please tell TC that he is in my prayers.

  9. Just saw this one.

Thanks, Lynn (and others) for this new page and information.

Prayers for TC, and for his recovery.

    Thanks all.

  10. thanks for the updates and great work in keeping the blog going, send optimistic thoughts to TC

    • Thanks for all your support and activity helping with keeping web traffic up, etc. Dave and all of you.  All the support people express helps me keep my efforts going and I suspect I speak for Lynn and the others, too, in saying we really appreciate it.

  11. Thank you Lynn, JL, Nameless and Joanne for all you do to keep us updated on TomCat's condition and his blog going. But you must all promise, but especially Lynn, that you will not try to fill those giant shoes to their brims and ruin your own health in the process.

    • Bless you for your concern Lona!

Thus far we each have felt free to tell each other at least some of our limits, which may be health or may be other things we have to do, on what we can and cannot do and when we can or cannot.  This respectful approach may mean we are a little slower to get word out (e.g., when first step is being done by a night owl and the second step by an early to rise person).  I can promise you I will do so–the others' schedules may delay them a bit before they can also respond to you.

    • Thanks for your concern Lona.  So far I have managed at least an Open Thread, but I did say 4 per week or more.  If I need to back off for a day, I will let you know and at least post a puzzle.

    • Thanks Lona.  I have been really slow today because I disappeared for 12 hours.  So, a couple of days of slow catchup ahead.

  12. Sent TC a card today, wishing him whatever thoughts he needs, and that the hands and minds of his medical caretakers are at their best.  Thought he could use cheering up, so I sent him a card with a big, fat bluebird on the front…..

  13. Thanks, Lynn and JL for all your hard work keepingus informed.  Prayers and good thoughts being sent multiple times a day.

  14. NEW TC UPDATE                       NEW TC UPDATE

Nameless contacted the hospital today (18/08/2015) and TC is showing some improvement.  BUT, he is still critically ill and needs your continued prayers.

    • Good news! Thank you… Hugzzz…

    • Wonderful news. They seem to have made the right decision by sending TomCat to another hospital that is better equiped to give him the special care he needs.

    • That's GREAT! At least he is making headway! He has a long way to go, but TC WILL make it!

    • "Some" improvement is better than no improvement.

Understand on the card above, I'd never call but just thought the well wishes would get to him faster to an address he was at.

A card was sent out to the address given and my 8 year old granddaughter added a lovely picture to cheer him up with it. Colorful butterflies, flowers, and a big heart in the center.

May I ask, when the calls are made is he able to update you or do you have to go through the Staff? I ask because we can tell by the persons voice if they are sounding stronger or not, even if they say they are a bit better, the voice usually tells us if they are just wishful thinking, trying to make us better about things or they truly do sound better.

I hope my comment doesn't disappear this time. Okay, here goes.

  15. I'm glad he is showing improvement but nearing two weeks on the critical list is concerning, I just hope he is mending well.  He can certainly rest easy knowing the ladies here have things in good control and thanks all for that.  He is a wonder and the world needs him and I truly hope he knows that.  We all surely do.  Thanks again all.

  16. Lynn, thanks for your post, and the behind the scene folks who get this information on here about TC.

He is always on my mind, and I certainly am keeping TC in my daily prayers and healing thoughts for him to recuperate. It takes a while for the body to heal, and I'm glad to read that he is making improvements in that area. I pray that his improvements continue with each passing day/night.

Thank you, for keeping the updates coming.

    Hugs to all.

  17. Any improvement is good.

Lona's advice is very wise, "Treat ONESELF and others, with loving kindness.!"

Lynn, my card went out a couple of days ago, thanks again.

Thanks to Judi and joanne, and the Nameless One.

TC is in my meditations, daily, and then some.

  18. Little can I say except add my thanks here to all who do the work in many ways! A I stated on the first thread, I didn't know TomCat, have only seen his avatar quite regularly as a daily poster whenever -in rare occasions- I visited the front page or news site.

I repeat my well wishes for him, sending good vibes his way and yes, sounds somewhat positive now so hopefully he will continue to get better!

By reading through all the nice comments over the past days I get a feeling as if I actually knew TomCat, he becomes more familiar to me. I shall keep reading the updates, even if I won't get further involved or participate in any of the features of this blog.

Again, thanks to you all, keep up the good work.
