I’m still recovering from the barf bath I had to take, while covering the Criminal Clowns.  The forecast has already changed for the next few days.  While 80°s weather is not a heat wave, it’s not the more comfortable 70°s weather I was expecting.  I want to catch up on rest this weekend, because Tuesday is a volunteer day in prison.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:01 (average 5:48).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From J Street (Iran Deal Facts): Media Coverage

Opponents are pouring millions into television and print ads attacking the agreement. Right-wing media have blasted the deal with extreme vitriol, doing everything they can to drown out the facts. But J Street is leading the fight to make sure that the voices of responsible journalists, leaders, and experts that support the deal are being heard loud and clear.

J Street is the organization for American Jews that represents their real interests and not the interests of the Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian war mongers that control AIPAC. They have two more excellent video clips on the page. Click Through.

From The New Yorker: The billionaire Donald Trump shocked the American people Thursday night by proving to be considerably more heinous than they had previously thought, an instant poll taken after the debate shows.

According to the poll, viewers who went into tonight’s debate thinking that Trump was one of the most horrible people that they had ever seen were still totally unprepared for the depths of awfulness he displayed during the televised contest.

When presented with the descriptors “loathsome,” “appalling,” and “monstrous,” viewers who witnessed Trump’s interaction with Fox News’s Megyn Kelly said that none of those words did justice to how odious Trump was.

OK, Andy, if you say so. But isn’t saying that Hairball is more heinous than previously thought a lot like saying that the Pope is more Catholic than previously thought?

From Daily Kos: John Kasich sure has a convenient memory. Asked about how he’d respond to Hillary Clinton’s presumptive attacks, Kasich mentioned his father was a mailman (drink!), then digressed to talking about balanced budgets:

I was the chairman of the budget committee and the lead architect the last time it happened in Washington, and when we did it, we had great economic growth, we cut taxes, and we had a big surplus.

Oh yeah, mofo? You know what else led to that balanced budget in the late 1990s? Bill Clinton’s tax hikes in 1993, which Republicans absolutely howled would destroy this country. Of course they were wrong, and they helped usher in an unprecedented era of growth and prosperity.

John "KKK" Kasich doesn’t like the kind of prosperity that benefits the 99%, and for him to try to take credit for Clinton’s budget surplus is an absurd Republican lie.

  1. I'm glad J Street is choosing to be so proactive.

AB may be saying that such awfulness goes beyond existing words to describe into a class by himself?

JKKKKKK at least was exposed to what it takes for a balanced budget, yet failed to learn from it…so many politicians pretend things happen overnight to take credit for results from efforts that predate them.  Interesting he wants to claim credit for a Clinton success.

Do like your pley on words.

  2. 5:08  I'm with you on the temperature – if that isn't an ice cream cake, I'm not interested.

Don't miss this museum exhibit about Feline World Domination – http://cuteoverload.com/2015/08/07/internet-cats-take-over-nyc/  (Yeah, New York is a tad far for me too, but you can at least get an idea on line.)

J Street – Yes, and they take a lot of flack from Zionists, so be very careful with any negative publicity you hear about them.  Check the facts.  BTW yesterday I did not have a petition to Schumer.  Today I have two:
    https://www.dailykos.com/campaigns/1379?detail=action
    http://act.credoaction.com/sign/schumer_iran/?t=4&akid=15233.2616308.55CTsQ

New Yorker – The Pope IS more Catholic than previously thought  Or at least than previous popes.

Daily Kos – I think this is a key Republican strategy element.  In a public setting, take credit for something that is so off the wall that it takes time to do the fact checking to rebut the details.  Of course that will happen, bu there will be people who saw/heard you make the claim whom the truth will never catch up to.  We've all seen it before, and I'm sure we'll see it again.

    Cartoon – Glorious!

  3. Chuck Schumer opposition to Pres. Obama's Iran Nuclear Deal disqualifies him from ever leading the Democratic Caucus.

    He's NOT a Democrat – he's a Likkud.

TC – where did you get that picture of the arches in the ruins for yesterday's cartoon?  I think it's always fun to try to guess, so I'm going w/ the ruins of Avdat in Israel:

    • I'm sure you're right, Nameless, but I have no idea where I got it.  I've been recycling cartoons, sinse I have so many, and I made that one in August, 2011.

  4. 4:51  Valentines Day?

  5. OK – so Erick Erickson (a misogynist of no small degree himself) banned The Donald from his scheduled appearance at his RedState wingnut event because Trump disparaged one of their own – Megyn Kelly – when Trump not only called her a Bimbo, but said:

"You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her … wherever."

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-megyn-kelly-had-blood-coming-out-of-her-wherever_55c55a97e4b0923c12bd079c

I think we can all agree that if Trump had said that about Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Warren or ANY Democrat of the female gender, Erickson and the entire Rethuglican Klan would be doing Handsprings, High-fives and Huzzahs!

  6. Climate change doesn't only bring us more extreme weather through torrential rains or droughts, heat waves or arctic temperatures and storms, lots of storms, but also weather that is very unpredictable. None of the older weather models seem to work any more and the best weathermen can do is make an educated guess. Weather forecasts have become just as trustworthy as crystal ball readings. I hope you are able to regenerate a little nevertheless, TomCat and get yourself fit again to meet with your guys.

J Street: Excellent videos and all the more believable because they are made by a group of American Jews who have a twofold interest in keeping Iran from building a nuclear bomb. I hope this group has enough money to buy a lot of airtime on stations that matter and reach opponents to the deal. Preaching to the choir is a waste of time and money.

The New Yorker: I agree with you, TomCat. Trump was only just as odious as everyone expected him to be and in fact a lot of people were disappointed that he wasn't more loathsome, appalling, and monstrous toward other people than Megyn Kelly too. Let's be honest about this, most people only watched the "debate" because they expected Trump to go all out and say things out loud they dare not say aloud themselves.

Daily Kos: So Kasich has a memory that works just like any other Republican memory, so what? What's a little Republican lie among friends, right?

Cartoon: Tell it like its is…

  7. Both petitions in Joanne's box above signed.
What is wrong with Chuck Schumer…?

J Street: An excellent ad. Short and to the point.

New Yorker: Megyn Kelly got what she deserved. Thumped & Trumped.

Daily Kos: John Kasich is a bad fox in the chicken house.

Cartoon: Good one! lol and so true.

  8. I hope you get plenty of rest.  We are heading back to the nineties with 75% humidity. Yuck.

JStreet:  I shared the link on Facebook.  Too many of my friends only see faux news.  After Schumer broke ranks with the Prez, there is much glee from that source.  It is time every one knew a view point different than Bibi's.

The New Yorker:  Love Andy, but Trumps antics got him uninvited to the Red State convention. HIs campaign manager quit or got fired, depends on who is interviewed, and I am guessing the RNC is shivering all over.

Daily Kos:  Kasich is just another Teabagger.  I have a friend who lives in Dayton, OH.  She despises him for the damage he did to her state while he was governor.  Really, with the group running for the GOP nomination, what do we have to worry about?

    Cartoon:  VERY GOOD!

  9. Update on Cousin Phillip:  Phillip is fully consious now, thank goodness.  He is nodding as well as blinking his eyes.  He is down to two tubes, one with oxygen, one with food.  He has not noticed his hands yet,  they are waiting until his heart is fully stabilized to deal with that.  If all goes well they will start removing the trachea tube tomorrow.   Thanks to all of you for the prayers, and please don't stop.  I fully appreciate the friends I have here.

  10. Puzzle — 3:10  Patty, it is up to you to save Puddy Tat from a sugar overload and unrestrainded weight gain from that patisserie!

J Street — All of the videos are good and make salient points.  Even the Republicanus/Teabaggerum should be able to understand them!  The negotiations were between 6 countries and Iran, not just the US and Iran. The Republicanus/Teabaggerum and warmongers need to get that through their thick heads.  Diplomacy should always be the first and preferred action.  Give peace a chance! Perhaps it is time to take a look at the financial holdings of all the naysayers and see who stands to win monetarialy.

The New Yorker — Trump supporters apparently like his blunt talk.  But I wonder how much they like it over spiced with misogyny, hatred and narcissism.  If what Americans want most is entertainment, they sure get it with that boorish oaf!  Circus Maximus, American style!

Daiky Kos — Kasich almost sounds like Herr Harper.  Harper boasted about bring in a balanced budget and reducing the deficit, but what he didn't say was how he inherited a surplus from the previous Liberal PM Paul Martin.  They are both putzes!

Cartoon — Love it!  The play on words is excellent and so true of the Republicanus/Teabaggerum and the right wing evangelical pseudo Christians.

  11. Sorry TC, I seem to have caught a chesty-coughy virus to add to the rest of my ailments, will be out of action except for a few 'TY TC' comments till it goes away.

    • Pat, I may not say it often, but as I said to Edie, my prayers and thoughts flow freely like a gentle mountain meadow stream for you and Tabsie and MolPol.  You tell those two that I said they are incharge of seeing to your care . . . Dr MolPol and Nurse Tabsie.  Greetings from teacher Primo, Dr Winnie and Nurse Annie.

    • Hopes and prayerd for a rapid recovery.

  12. re. Iran. As  famous Brit. said. "Jaw,Jaw,Jaw, is better than War,War,War.Sir Winston .of course. (and he served in the army and fought for his country! and was also a prisoner of war. So HE, obviousy GETS IT.  Too bad the REDPUG warmakers NEVER had  ANY experience.!"As the saying goes.Bell rings loudest in EMPTY clock"

We seem to have a lot of those!
