It’s a busy day.  I have a grocery delivery coming, and I need to prepare for prison volunteer work tomorrow,  I wont leave until early afternoon, so I hope to get articles posted before I leave.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s tool me 2:34 (average 4:58).  To do it, click here.  How did you do? Does anyone have some salt and pepper?

Short Takes:

From Upworthy: John Oliver brutally mocks political ads for women, and it’s hilarious.

Labor did mess up on that one. To reach out to woman all they needed was a video of Pat A dancing in yoga pants.

From Daily Kos: Idaho lawmakers were debating a bill that ban doctors from prescribing emergency contraceptives during telemedicine consults (via private video chats, particularly helpful for those in rural areas), when they had a surprising question from Republican Rep. Vito Barbieri:

An Idaho lawmaker received a brief lesson on female anatomy after asking if a woman can swallow a small camera for doctors to conduct a remote gynecological exam.

…….

Dr. Julie Madsen was testifying in opposition to the bill when Barbieri asked the question. Madsen replied that would be impossible because swallowed pills do not end up in the vagina.

Camera’s, on the other hand, are very useful for Republican rectal exams. Point the camera at the Republican’s face. 😈

From NPR: Amid turnout of only a third of registered voters, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is headed for a runoff in his re-election bid, according to figures released by the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.

With 98.6 percent of precincts reporting, the former congressman and chief of staff for President Barack Obama leads with 45.37 percent of the vote, followed by Democratic Cook County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia with 34 percent.

Emanuel required a vote of 50 percent plus one to avoid a runoff. The runoff election with Garcia is scheduled for April 7.

The AP reports a number of problems that created a drag on Emanuel’s campaign…

Obama’s biggest appointment mistakes were the Three Blind Mice. Appointing Rahmbo was almost as bad. He’s corrupt. He’s corporate. He’s bad for Chicago. Go Chuy!

  1. 5:02, average still 4:58.  Do you have time for salt and pepper before you leave?

Upworthy – Unless that pony is toilet trained and can cook and wash dishes, I don't want it in MY kitchen, thank you.

Daily Kos:  Paul Gaba:  "Idaho Lawmaker wonders if women culd have a gyno exam by swallowing a tiny camers.  Rest of country wonders if Idaho lawmakers could have a brain scan by shoving tiny camera up their a$$."

NPR – Rahm is just Scott Walker in a Democratic suit.  I am so sorry for Chicago and hope he loses to someone better (which wouldn't be hard).

Cartoon – She can see it in her kid's bedrooms, can't she?  Or is that just booze?

  2. Wow! What was the Labour Party thinking? That’s as bad as the repukkklicans trying to get women to vote for them by blocking the ERA!
Daily Kos caught this man in biology class of the second grade! Surely, he didn’t really say that! A person that has a job in government ACTUALLY asked if a woman could SWALLOW A CAMERA TO GET A GYNO EXAM? PUUUULLLLEEESSSE!!!!!!! That’s the funniest thing I have ever heard of! Surely, he jests!!!
Hope the election turns out the way it should! But that never stopped anything!
Palin on pot-she will be taking credit for it! Just wait and see!

  3. 3:28  I am getting only feathers and bones.

  4. I'm told there is a middle-aged men's group for collectors of my little ponies–seems a more appropriate content than what politicians come up with.

Seems every politician wants to make decisions requiring knowledge of physiology without having a whiff of that knowledge…

Am thankful 12-1 campaign spending is not a shoo-in always.

Does that mean she's claiming the neighbor doing a biography of her is growing it?

  5. An Idaho lawmaker received a brief lesson on female anatomy after asking if a woman can swallow a small camera for doctors to conduct a remote gynecological exam.

Dr. Julie Madsen was testifying in opposition to the bill when Barbieri asked the question. Madsen replied that would be impossible because swallowed pills do not end up in the vagina.

Not sure I want to know the Republican response to that one.  Mandatory vaginal ultrasounds are bad enough.

  6. I didn't get a card yesterday, but I found your posts anyway.

Upworthy:  The ad is funny, but the actions are condescending and patronizing,  The same holds true here, both political ads and commercials for products "talk down" to women.  It's as though the only things on our pretty little minds are whether we have scud in the dishwasher, or water marks on the shower.  It is terrible that we are still at this point.  Still no equal pay, and reproductive rights are being done away with as quickly as the Repubs can do it.

Daily Kos:  This idiot from Idaho is dumber that idiot son of idiot.  I like your suggestion at the end of the article.

NPR:  Good luck, Chuy  !  I was glad to see Rham leave DC.  Hope he does not get re appointed if he loses this race.

Cartoon:  I don't doubt that she can!

I got an e mail from Pat A today, saying she is taking some time off C2 for her health. I know all of us who participate in Politics Plus will miss her.

  7. Puzzle — 2:56  Jerry, you'll be lucky if you get that much!  That darn puddy tat is ravenous having not eaten for a few days.  My guess, he'll boil the bones and feathers to make soup for tomorrow.

Upworthy — That is a cute pony, but is the pony pottie trained?  This woman doesn't do diapers!  Seems it doesn't matter what political party, women are not respected as they should be and may all the parties suffer for their stupidity.

Daily Kos — "Cameras, on the other hand, are very useful for Republican rectal exams. Point the camera at the Republican’s face." — That's like a 2 fer sale!  Since their heads are so far up where the sun doesn't shine, they get a portrait taken and a rectal exam at the same time.  I'm sorry but how can a grown man be so bloody stupid?  I sure hope this idiot is not married with kids!

NPR — I know very little about Rahm Emanuel so I checked on him in Wikipedia.  Previously I thought he was an OK guy, but now, well let's just say, he's a fallen "angel".  He was the managing director of investment bank Wasserstein Perella, and also a member of the board of directors of Freddie Mac where there were significant accounting irregularities and campaign contributions.  In 2002, "…Edward Moskal, president of the Polish American Congress, a political action committee endorsing Kaszak [for Congress], called Emanuel a "millionaire carpetbagger.""  It would seem that he is not such a good guy and Chicago and Illinois would be better without him.

Cartoon — What a drama queen!  She can see Russia from her house too.  Maybe the pot is actually in Russia.

  8. ROTFLMAO!!!  NAUGHTY KITTY!  What a picture to put in people's minds!

    TY TC.

  9. With some diligent Googling, I was able to locate the High School Biology text that Vito Barbieri used to study Female Anatomy:

    http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-snuxS52FmqA/UDUvmWPglhI/AAAAAAAAGi0/x3vxIcgoP6E/s400/diagramma.png

I was also able to learn that Vito is married – but find no mention of having any kids … FOR OBVIOUS REASONS!

  10. Prison Volunteer day.  Poof!!  I'm gone!!
