I’m rushing to try to finish in time for meditation on the Ellipsoid Orb.  I’m current on replies.  Tomorrow appears routine.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:44 (average 4:56).  To do it, click here. How did you do?

Short Takes:

From MoveOn: Isn’t It About Time You Called Your Zeyde?

Amusing as this is, is there anyone you can call?

From The Guardian: Iran has suspended the enrichment of uranium stockpiles to the 20% purity needed to bring it a short step from building a nuclear device, news services in the region have reported.

Kudos to Obama. This would also happen in a Willard Regime, but how many US troops would have to die first?

From Brad Blog: Investigators today arrested a Southern Nevada woman suspected of trying to vote twice this week at two different polling locations.

Roxanne Rubin was taken into custody as she arrived for work at the Riviera hotel-casino, investigators said. Rubin, 56, is a registered Republican who lives in Henderson, according to the Clark County Registrar.

Rubin allegedly cast a vote Monday at the Anthem Community Center in Henderson. Later that day, she tried to vote a second time at an early voting location on Eastern Avenue, investigators said.

Finally a real case of voter fraud, and I don’t have to tell you which party did it.

  1. Puzzle — 3:54  I lingered too long over that relaxing cup of tea and hot buttered scones!

MoveOn — That was fun!  Well I don't have anyone to call, but I pledge to talk about getting out the vote and voting intelligently for Mr Obama as much as possible until the election.  I was at a memorial service yesterday for an 83 year old man that I sang tenor with in our church choir.  At the reception, I got into a discussion with a church friend about the US election and politics in general.  Gave him your website and Care2 and he seemed quite interested.  If you see something from Bruce N in Coquitlam, it's likely my friend and he's a good dude.  His son, many years ago now, was in the sunday school class I taught.

The Guardian — As much as I would like it to be, the article has a correction at the bottom:

"• This article was corrected on 4 November 2012. An earlier version of this story ran with the headline "Iran suspends uranium enrichment" based on Asafari's quotes as reported by al-Arabiya."

But I sincerely wished that Tehran had backed off!

Brad Blog — No you don't need to tell us which party!  Admittedly, there is no way to prove if she did this of her own accord or was put up to it by another misguided soul, but how many more are there of either stripe (but mostly GOP) that will try this?  This is not the way to win an election and only casts dispersions on the party, in this case the Republican/Teabaggers.  Why would a 56 year old hotel employee vote Republican?  That is so against her own interests

Cartoon — When I saw this, I almost broke into song!  Oh hell, I will but don't mind if I am off key!

Aaa – men!  Aaa – men!!  Aa – men!!!  Amen!!!!  AMEN!!!!!  (all together now . . . clap as you sing)
Aaa – men!  Aaa – men!!  Aa – men!!!  Amen!!!!  AMEN!!!!!

  2. Mother Jones put together a nice interactive map documenting Voter Suppression:

  3. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed Joe Biden's little joke to a crowd in Colorado, who were absolutely enjoying it.

Folks, I want to remind you this is the end of daylight savings time tonight.  It’s Mitt Romney’s favourite time of year because he gets to turn the clock back!

What a wonderful sense of humour.  I wonder if Romney will be crowing about that tomorrow or if he'll let the boy wonder take it on?

  4. MoveOn  ~ Priceless! I have no one to call. My whole family and friends vote although I wish some of them wouldn't.

The Guardian ~ I wish it were true. But sadly, it's only if sanctions are lifted.
"Asafari on Sunday stepped forward to clarify. "The 20% enrichment has not been and will not be halted in Iran," he insisted, according to the website of the state's English-language television, Press TV.
Asafari is a member of the parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy.
"Yet … as announced previously, Tehran is ready to temporarily supply its need for 20%-enriched uranium for its 5-megawatt Tehran [Research] Reactor from abroad if the sanctions are lifted," he said."

Brad Blog ~ Poor, misguided soul.  Any vote for a RepublicanT is a vote for the Corporations.

Cartoon ~ I'm singing with Lynn!
