Yesterday I could not have been more proud of my guys in prison.  Among other things we discussed how failing to let go can cause us to suffer.  Their honesty and dedication was outstanding, as usual.  Greetings to Critter from Critter.  I returned home late, and I’m going back to bed.  I’m still not current with replies.  If I feel more rested later today, I’ll catch up.  Tomorrow I will be back to the prison for more volunteer work.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:10 (average 5:48).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From MoveOn: What If Romney Wins And The History Channel Airs Something Like This After 4 Years?

If Willard wins, this is far more prophetic than any prediction you’ll ever hear from Republican Supply-side pseudo Christians. It is what I have been telling you all along.

From NY Times: And a new anti-Obama DVD is dropping into voters’ mailboxes, claiming that the president is the love child of an illicit relationship between his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, and Frank Marshall Davis, a Communist Party loyalist. The back story of the DVD offers the latest example of how secretive forces outside the presidential campaigns can sweep into battleground states days before the election.

This summer, a group of well-financed conservative activists had an idea for what they hoped would be a last-minute game changer in the presidential race. They would put out a DVD that made a compelling case against Mr. Obama in battleground states, sending it to voters through a carefully targeted direct mail campaign or as an insert in Sunday newspapers in the weeks before Election Day.

This is both the effect of Citizen’s United and the reason that both it, and the political party responsible for it MUST be overturned. I urge you to click through for the rest of this article.

From BBC: A BBC World Service opinion poll has found sharply higher overseas approval ratings for US President Barack Obama than Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

An average of 50% favoured Mr Obama, with 9% for Mr Romney, in the survey of 21,797 people in 21 countries.

This defeats Romney’s lie that Obama has made the US lose support in the international community.

  1. 3:55  So, is this "cat" going to turn into a beautiful butterfly for me, or am I going to get eaten along with the plant stem?

  2. From MoveOn: What If Romney Wins And The History Channel Airs Something Like This After 4 Years?

I fear that this could happen via the voting machines that stole the election for George W. Bush in 2004… The same machines are owned by Willard Romney…

  3. Ironic in the BBC polling that the country that shows the strongest support for Rmoney would be Kenya.

And today's Gallup Daily Tracking Poll shows good news for Obama.  He's closed Rmoney's lead among LVs to 3 points; and is now leading among RVs (but trails among SUVs, mobile homes and other smaller vehicles)

  4. I'm not concerned about the machines in Ohio – I am concerned about voter suppression! While I won't vote for Obama this year because I live in an electoral college democratic state that will be pro-Obama, I'm going to vote my conscience against both parties and vote for Dr. Stein – especially since neither candidate brought up the most threatening problem facing the country and the planet, namely Global Warming – an egregious omission in my opinion, especially after hearing the 2 of them try to out-do each other in the last debate to get as much fossil fuel as possible! Yes Obama has contributed more to cleaner energies, and I appreciate it, if we survive the waiting period! Cuomo (another Dem – with an eye on the Presidency), is making "whoopee" with the oil moguls as well, trying to ease natural gas into the State!
As for the film – it's excellent and I shared it on fb – it's certainly a frightening prospect!

  5. Things I Failed to Learn at MY Sunday School:

According to Romney-endorsed Repubican candidate Mourdock in Indiana, rapists are God's little angels sent to do His work to violently and  forcibly impregnate women against their will.

I I don't remember reading ANYTHING in the Bible that supports such a hateful claim.

  6. Puzzle — 3 :42  I like soft and furry cats better than those with "punk" hairdos.

MoveOn — Unfortunately it is blocked by A&E for copyright reasons.

NY Times — Stunts like this crap DVD, voter suppression, rigged voting machines, election fraud, etc etc AD NAUSEUM are why the ACLU and NAACP have asked the UN agency to monitor the US election.  I have said a number of times over the past year that with the total Republican/Teabagger orchestration of election fraud, voter suppression and dirty tricks, the US cannot be trusted to monitor elections in other countries until they get their own house in order.  I hope that everybody sees this video with the same clarity that the Florida woman did.

BBC — Interesting, Pakistan is the only one that favours Romney over Mr Obama.  They must have believed Romney when he said he "wouldn't move heaven and earth to get Osama bin Laden.  They sure don't understand this chickenhawk!  Romney will have the Middle East in flames within a year if he is elected.  While Mr Obama is not perfect, Romney (and the Republican/Teabaggers) are unethical, morally corrupt, without honour, and total barbarians!

Cartoon — The UN is a good idea, however a Security Council with permanent members and veto powers should never have been created.  Just another version of the "1% and the 99%".

  7. Thanks everyone.

Lee, the voting machines and the voter suppression are all part of the same game.

    Thanks Nameless.

    I was puzzle toast again.
