On days where a single story dominates the news, we can usually depend on the Bachmann wing of the Republican Party to do something or say something sufficiently outrageous to leave us shaking our heads in disgust.  Louie Gohmert stepped forward to fill the bill.

4GohmertHatFresh after his speech insisting that President Obama is reestablishing the Ottoman Empire, Texas congressman Louie Gohmert told [hate group delinked] anti-Muslim conspiracy theorist Frank Gaffney that the Obama administration is “getting advice on how to deal with the Muslim Brotherhood from people who are in the Muslim Brotherhood.” He claimed that the Obama administration is sending money to “radical jihadists” in order to “buy [them] off,” not understanding that they can only use “raw power” against those who worship “a radical, mean-spirited, hateful Allah that these people that twist Islam believe in.”

Gohmert, who signed letters with Michele Bachmann calling for an anti-Muslim witch hunt within the administration that were ultimately rejected but lauded by Gaffney and Newt Gingrich, charged that Muslim Brotherhood agents may be the ones shaping Obama’s foreign policy. Gohmert claimed that Muslim Brotherhood operatives are involved in Janet Napolitano’s “super-secret, trusted, Homeland Security advisory council” but said she won’t give him the names. He also criticized Napolitano for allowing an Egyptian lawmaker to meet with members of the U.S. government in Washington, even after he was vetted by Homeland Security, the State Department and the Secret Service, because he is a member of a political party tied to a listed terrorist organization that has since renounced violence… [emphasis added]

Inserted from <Right Wing Watch>

Is it any wonder that Muslims, who are not familiar with the ins and outs of Republican InsaniTEA, think that this nation hates them, when they hear such statements from a sitting member of Congress?

Now, you may say that Gohmert is just one wing-nut, and should not be taken seriously.  However, if a member of the Democratic caucus were to make such hateful allegations, you can be sure he or she would be facing intense condemnation from the rest of the party in very short order.  Nevertheless, Gohmert still enjoys the full support of the Republican Party.  That provides Gohmert’s statements with a Republican stamp of approval.  Just like Todd Akin represents the Republican War on Women, Louie Gohmert represents Republican religious intolerance, ignoring the First Amendment.

No wonder Muslims fear us– He , Bachmann and Akin are elected members of Congress ; Elected to represent the people of this country!!!
The  "Religion" preached by  these people is distorted !! and intolerant– Witch hunts!!!

  2. As long as people are gullible enough to believe there will always be a segment of the population that's scared angry and depressed.

  3. All these Right-wing nuts feed on fear.

I'll bet they're all happy that the dumbing down of America was so successful.

  4.  Nevertheless, Gohmert still enjoys the full support of the Republican Party.

Which means simply that they're all Nucking Futs…. 🙂

  5. Can't say it any better than above . Thanks guys.

  6. Holy crap!  I just watched a 10 min video of Anderson Cooper and Louie Gohmert and to use Richard's term, Gohmert is Nucking Futs!!!!!  The man was on an insaniTea shouting tirade about terrorist babies.  How on earth did this idiot get elected?

With people like Gohmert and Bachmann, both elected officials, no wonder so many foreigners distrust the US.  I can tell you that when I was in France many years ago, we were on a bus trip to a place called Les Baux in the south.  We were a bus of Canadian and French tourists, all speaking French.  At a look out, the bus stopped and we got out to stretch.  Another bus pulled up and the soccer players who got out spit on us and yelled "Americans go home!".  Everything was sorted out peacefully fortunately.  Just because someone is American is no reason for such rude behaviour, but it is idiots like Gohmert and Bachmann that perpetuate the feelings of anger against Americans.  God help the world if Romney takes the WH.

  7. I think when God was passing out brains, Gohmert (Bachmann, Akin and others too) thought God said trains, then said he'd get the next one!

Get out the Vote!!!!! Four more years!!!!!

    Vote Democratic 2012!!!!! Vote Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!

  8. Sadly, so many of our fellow citizens are so ill informed that believe the nonsense people like these produce.
