Mitch McConnell Sucks Koch

Way back when GW Bush was in the White House, I coined a nickname for Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell (R-KY).  Since then he has lived up to Bought Bitch Mitch, by demonstrating that he belongs to any criminal corporation or billionaire, no matter how vile, who will buy him and his fellow Republicans.  Therefore it should be no surprise that he is a Koch Sucker extraordinaire.

BoughtBitchSenate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell on Friday blasted President Barack Obama for joining in liberal attacks against conservative billionaires Charles and David Koch.

In a speech at the American Enterprise Institute, the Kentucky Republican accused Obama’s reelection campaign of employing tactics not seen since the Nixon administration. Part of that, he said, is an “enemies list” and efforts to demonize private citizens like the Koch brothers.

“Charles and David Koch have become household names, not for the tens of thousands of people they employ, not for their generosity to charity, and not for building up one of the most successful private corporations on the planet, but because of their forceful and unapologetic promotion and defense of capitalism,” McConnell said, according to prepared remarks.

The Senate minority leader said the president has wrongly accused big conservative donors like the Koch brothers of a “corporate takeover of our democracy.”… [emphasis added]

Dang!  That’ll sure fertilize your veggies!

Ed Schultz and Howard Dean discuss McConnell’s support for allowing billionaires to flood our elections with anonymous money.

The Disclose act is a political weapon, because it would return to the American people the right to criticize and boycott companies and billionaires who support politicians whose policies are harmful to us.  Allowing them anonymity robs us of our only defense against their ability to drown out our speech through the sheer volume of their messages.  Furthermore it deprives voters of the right to know who owns which Republican.

Howard Dean is spot-on. On the question of racism or greed, Republicans pander to racists for their support in order to practice their greed.  And you can be sure Bought Bitch Mitch will be at the head of the line with his hand out.

  1. It's just one way to keep racism alive.  And with election of a Black man they know time has moved people into the future.  The tea Party have successfully done is bring more and more like ku klux klan minded jerks into government to not only to bring back the white clan but to dismantle government.  The rich and poor and no middle class.  Money can buy anything.

    • Mama, I don't think most Republican leaders are inherently racist, but the really discusting thing is that people who know racism is evil nonetheless pander to racists for greed and power.

  2. Is this what Chris Matthews calls "Hardball?"
When will more Americans start being able to tell the difference between rhetoric and lies?
Americans need a little more sales resistance towards their politicians.
Humm….Take a lot of money into a State District race, to end one persons national leadership.
    He misses Strom so bad.
We  are in the middle of the last cries of a dying political culture. White superiority.
Just a few thoughts I had while reading your post.

    • Steve, when we're dealing with Republicans rhetoric and lies are identical.  Most Democratic rhetoric (but not all) happens to be true.

  3. I realize members of Congress have pretty broad protection against libel and slander not extended to you and me, but someone in the Press needs to confront Mitch "Turtle" McConnell and demand proof when he makes such patently offensive and mendacious claims as these:

“What they’re trying to do is intimidate donors to outside groups that are critical of the administration, McConnell said. "The campaign has rifled through donors' divorce records. They’ve got the IRS, the SEC and other agencies going after contributors trying to frighten people and intimidate them out of exercising their rights to participate in the American political discourse, which is being done these days by a lot of different groups, and no longer are they all on the political left. Now there’s more balance to it. Of course, the temptation of anybody in power is to try to silence your critics."

    • What we have here, Nameless, is another example of projection.  Republicans, for whom intimidation is a daily way of life, are projection their behavior onto Democrats.

  4. I prefer "Mooch" for McConnell. After all, the only way this mooch has been able to keep his Senate seat is by grabbing every GUBMINT dime he can for his third-world hellhole of a state.

  5. "…he said, is an “enemies list” and efforts to demonize private citizens like the Koch brothers. …"

Jabber Jowls McConnell should realise that when the Koch brothers decided to become a founding member of the Tea Party (so I understand), and became part of ALEC, and became involved in numerous right wing "social welfare" (aka political advocacy groups) and … and …, they ceased to be "private citizens".  The fact that the Kochs and a very few select others would be the defacto president should Flip-flop Rmoney win the WH, also takes them out of the realm of private citizens.
And freedom of speech?  No one has attacked their freedom of speech.  People may be and are horrified at the influence and speech of the Kochs and their ilk, but no one has put a muzzle on them.  And the Disclose Act does nothing to muzzle them either.  It merely makes their speech more public; takes it out of the shadows of the 1970s Deep Throat.

The president doesn't have to accuse the Koch brothers or their ilk of a 'corporate takeover of our democracy', we can see it daily.  Well at least those that don't watch Faux Noise aka Fox News can see it!

Howard Dean "… this is about the Republican party that cares more about themselves and their own power than they do about the country.  You  couldn't find very many Tea Party people who would agree with Senator McConnell.  … is bad for America and Senator McConnell has put his party ahead of his country …"

I couldn't agree more.  That is one thing that, as I have observed more politics, both American and Canadian, too many politicians put party ahead of country.  It isn't just the conservatives, but it is much more heavily weighted by the conservatives.

    • Well said, Lynn.  I have to admit that the Koch Brothers are in fact demonized , they did it to themselves by their unscrupulous behavior.
