As I write the temperature outside is 40°, and it’s 65° at my desk.  What a contrast from earlier this week!  I’m completely comfortable.  The COPD and bursitis are still acting up, but not enough to sideline me.  I’m current with replies.  Tomorrow I have errands to run.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:45 (average 4:32). To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From MoveOn: What Kind Of Men Do Women Really Want?

19men

In other words, not men from the Republican base.

From MSNBC: A billionaire explains who job creators are.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Republicans are right that we need to protect the job creators. They are just lying about who the job creators are. You and I are the job creators, not the 1%.

From Chicago Tribune: China allowed a blind legal activist, Chen Guangcheng, to leave a hospital in Beijing on Saturday and board a plane bound for the United States, a move that could signal the end of a diplomatic standoff between the two countries.

Chen’s escape from house arrest in northeastern China last month and subsequent stay in the U.S. embassy caused huge embarrassment for China and led to a diplomatic rift while U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was visiting Beijing for talks to improve ties between the world’s two biggest economies.

This is the activist that Republicans claimed had been abandoned to the Chinese by Obama. I wonder why they are silent now

  1. 3:36  No quite one minute.

  2. MoveOn — AMEN!!!!!

MSNBC — I previously saw Nick Hanauer probably 6 months ago and was impressed then, as now.  As a realist, he says that if there are no people buying products, his products, then he doesn’t make any money.  His approach is honest, refreshingly so, and simple enough that even a Republican/Teabagger could understand, if they had the will to understand.  Unfortunately they don’t have the will to understand.  They worship at the altar of GREED!

Chicago Tribune — I am glad that Chen Guangcheng and his family are on the way to the US.  Of course the GOP is quiet about this because Mr Obama did what was right and decent.  They had no way to know what was going on behind closed doors.  Talk is cheap!  Wonder what they would have done with their racist, bigoted ideas?

Cartoon — Ricketts?  That’s a spinal and bone development disease!  Figures that the GOP would have Ricketts, they have no backbone to stand up for honesty, integrity and the American people!

    • We’d be remiss if we didn’t revisit Rmoney’s thoughts on how Pres. Obama’s Administration was handling the plight of Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng – in Mitten’s very own words:

“This is a dark day for freedom, and it’s a day of shame for this administration.”

Hopefully Rmoney learned (yet again) that Karma is a bitch.
    • Indeed!

The 1% do.  For the poorer Republicans, that have substituted hate and fear.

They would have done the opposite of TR.  Speak loudlyt, but carry no stick.

      LOL!  Well said!

  3. You can always count on Repubicans appealing to the worst hate-mongering of their base …
