Yesterday I spent most of the day resting, but I did clean out my email.  My nether regions still have not recovered.  I’m current with replies.  Tomorrow I shall dress in black, mourning the missing light from the Ellipsoid Orb.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today it took me 4:13 (average 5:38).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From Care2: The 99% Declaration and its call for a "national general assembly" in Philadelphia in July is not affiliated with or endorsed by Occupy Wall Street, and the organizers’ plans blatantly contradict OWS’ stated principles.

Kudos to Kit at Care2 for an excellent find.  Although there are parts of the declaration, with which I agree, I feel that the writers’ manner in putting this forward, as part OWS, lacked integrity.  I have said often that the 99% declaration represents only the 25 or so people, who composed it, because it had never received any endorsement from OWS.  This is the first I have learned that OWS has disclaimed and discredited it.

From MoveOn: A Past Vice President Tried To Warn Us About This A Long, Long Time Ago

How little have Wallace’s fascists changed in their transformation into today’s Republican Party.

From The Cap Times: House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan is pressuring the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History because it has archived and displayed posters from last winter’s Wisconsin protests against Gov. Scott Walker’s assault on collective bargaining rights.

Ryan wants the posters removed, as do several other prominent Republicans.

The struggle for freedom by the heroic people of Fitzwalkerstan, formerly Wisconsin, has a rightful place in the history of Americans rising against oppression.  Ryan can put his attempt to rewrite history where the sun never shines.

  5. OWS and The 99 Percent Working Group, LTD.— Thanks Kit for the information.  Interesting to note is that The 99 Percent Working Group which is responsible for the 99% Declaration and calling for a national general assembly in July, has itself joined corporate America by incorporating itself.  Now there may be seemingly legitimate reasons for doing so, but it is also amusing, well at least to me.

Henry Wallace — Never heard of him so I looked him up.  Looks like he was somewhat controversial, well at least enough to get bounced off the presidential ticket in 1945 by Harry Truman.  Controversial or not, this particular quote is spot on!  He may not have had the gift of prophecy, but he sure did know the Republican mentality and thought processes!

“They claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the constitution.” — Does the name Sanctimonious Rick Santorum sound familiar?

“They demand free enterprise, but are the spokesmen for monopoly and vested interest.” — This smells so highly of Rmoney!

“Their final objective towards which all their deceit is directed is to capture political power so that, using the power of the state and the power of the market simultaneously, they may keep the common man in eternal subjection.” — this is the whole bad-assed bunch of Republican/Teabagger politicians.

The Smithsonian — The damned Republicans seem bent on rewriting all sorts of American history if it doesn’t fit in with their whitewashed pollyanna view.  No slavery.  No Jim Crowe laws.  No decimation of the First Nations people.  I’m surprised they haven’t tried to deny the Great Depression, after all, it was exacerbated by the rich industrialists etc.  And now wipe out the heroes of Wisconsin as if standing up to corruption and corporatism didn’t matter!  They are afraid of an example being out there to encourage others if it be necessary, which it will be.  Paul Ryan and the Republican’s must live in fear if they are so concerned about Wisconsin being an example.  Poor little Republican/Teabaggers.  NOT!  Leave history alone and consign the Republican/Teabaggers to the annals of history!  But don’t excise them from the hory books lest future generations forget how the Republican/Teabaggers tried to supplant democracy in the US.  True democracy isn’t easy, but it is better than the alternatives.

Cartoon — I’m surprised that there isn’t another arrow going northward to the northern tip of Canada’s Ellemere Island (pop 146)  if for no other reason than to say that they, the Republicans,  could do it!  Good cartoon!
