In the volunteer work I do with prisoners I sometimes encounter a thinking error called projection, where someone denies their own attributes, thoughts and actions and attributes them to someone else.  Fortunately, I see this only rarely among prisoners.  Unfortunately, I see this almost daily among Republican politicians and pundits.  It is alive and well at CPUKE.

BoughtBitchSenate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Thursday painted conservatives as victims of President Barack Obama and other "liberal thugs."

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), McConnell said he always loved the event "because conservatives are just simply more fun" than liberals.

"There’s a reason for that, by the way," he explained. "It’s because we are always right. Now, the reasons liberals are always wringing their hands all the time — you notice that? They always wring their hands all the time because they know we’ve got better arguments than they do. So, they spend half their time trying to convince people what’s wrong is right, and the other half looking for conservatives to tear down or CPAC conferences to disrupt."

The Kentucky Republican continued: "You all know the liberal playbook. Here’s how it works: Pick a target, freeze it, personalize it and then polarize it. But rarely have we seen those kind of tactics employed with the kind of zeal that we see today. The White House and it’s lieutenants have made an art form out of the orchestrated attack. … You know the drill. Expose the folks to public view, release the liberal thugs on them, and then hope the public pressure or the unwanted attention scares them from supporting similar causes down the road."

McConnell went on to accuse the Obama administration of using the resources of the government to "intimidate or silence" its critics… [emphasis added]

Bought Bitch Mitch could not have done a better job at describing Republican tactics.  Here’s the video. WARNING: DO NOT WATCH WITHOUT HAVING A BARF BAG HANDY!

I know this makes you want to throw up (minimal response), but it’s important that you see the kind of foul lies that the mass of sheeple are being fed by Bought Bitch Mitch and other Republican leaders. Of course he had to get in a plug for Faux Noise, The Republican Ministry of Propaganda.

  1. Oh dear, Tom! I didn’t read the warning label and didn’t have a barf bag handy. There went breakfast!

  2. GAD! I’ve been saying that for YEARS! They constantly project their failings onto others.  It’s the perfect example to the old adage, “When you point a finger, THREE are pointed back at you”….Jan Brewer makes the picture complete! ALL the GOP do it. The very minute I heard Sarah Palin say “death panels” I just KNEW the GOP would DO it first….Ryan’s Medicare privatization would surely mean death to Grandma! Watch ’em point….they are aiming at you! VOTE DEMOCRATIC!

    • “When you point a finger, THREE are pointed back at you.”

Love it Zada!  I’d forgotten that one but it is so true!  We’ve got hand signals for BS and ‘up yours’.  This is the perfect hand signal for projection!

    • Very well said, Zada,  Right on!

  3. ROFLOL– Yes Projection along with another one ; Reaction Formation; Where one attributes characteristics about oneself to another–; What I think your doing TC is naming the pathology that has taken over the GOP—They are paranoid ( these are paranoid defenses) and Psychotic ( out of touch with reality)

  4. Let’s be fair about this. Poor old Mitch must have lost his notes for the speech he was supposed to give, so instead of disappointing the audience, he just read a page out of the conservative playbook.

  5. AW! POOR, POOR FOX/FAUX NEWS!!  I surely do not feel sorry for them at all.  They twist stories up to suit their agenda, or in the case of quoting someone, they leave out important words to suit them. I have seen them do that quite frequently.  McConnell looks so stiff, he doesn’t look like he could have fun.  He looks like an old minister who hasn’t had any fun in years and stands in his ivory tower thinking he is having fun.

  6. Jabber Jowls reminds me of someone with severe Alzheimer’s or dementia — paranoid, antagonistic, severe memory lapses, incoherence, inability to put coherent ideas together in a recognisable and understandable form.  These are the same things I see in my mother who has severe Alzheimer’s.  I just wish he had one more trait that she has —- virtual silence!  She can no longer read, write or speak more than a few words together.

Projection indeed.  Everything, and I mean absolutely everything he accused the President and the Democrats of doing is what he and the Republican/Teabaggers have been and continue to do.  This from the man who publically on numerous occassions has made a point of saying that the GOP’s goal is to make Mr Obama a one term president.

Jabber Jowls McConnell : “Conservatives are just simply more fun than liberals.  Now there is a reason for that by the way.  It’s because we’re always right.”  Correct Jabber Jowls, you’re right and liberals are left!  Left holding the bag of the mess that your rightwing-nut leader, Baby Bush created and left for the next guy to clean up.

    • The only ills I’ll wish on him are unemployment and perhaps, incarceration.

  7. We should stop calling these creeps the Far or Radical Right. They are Far Wrong.

  8. Remember if you believe it “It must not be a lie”  This man has just about single handedly given President Obama a second term and he is to arrogant to see it.  His legacy will go down for all Americans to remember in a time of great peril “Our Main goal is to make Obama a one term President”

  9. I have a two foot high stack of letters from this fraud called a Senator from Kentucky and every other one ignores the issue I have raised with him about him and his Reflublican train wreck.  He (or his pathetic, ‘yessir’, boot licking staff) thank me for supporting his views or goes on to spread a thick layer of misinformation across the page in hopes that I don’t have a clue.  Then, he (or she) finishes by saying he will keep my views in mind with the issue comes up again (IF they are in session!) on the floor of the Senate. And that’s likely to be where it lies in his office under foot or in the garbage.

    • Welcome FFL. 🙂

First, please accept my condolences for having both Bought Bitch Mitch and Son of Tinfoil Hat as your Senators.  I wish you every hope in getting rid of both,
