Yesterday I slept late.  I’m not surprised after covering New Hampshire and the Bonamici debate on the same day.  I spent some time organizing volunteer work, and I’ll be spending three days a month in the prison instead of two this year.  I’m current with replies.  I still have that paperwork to do today

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today it took me 4:45 (average 5:12).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From TPM: Pat Buchanan’s explanation for his problems at MSNBC is exactly what you might expect: “Militant gay rights groups” and “people of color, Van Jones” are responsible.

Bull! Buchanan is responsible, because he went on a ite supremacist radio show and spewed his racist filth to promote his book.

From AP/Google: It seemed a clockwork killing: Motorcycle riders flashed by and attached a magnetic bomb onto a car carrying a nuclear scientist working at Iran’s main uranium enrichment facility. By the time the blast tore apart the silver Peugeot, the bike was blocks away, weaving through Tehran traffic after what Iran calls the latest strike in an escalating covert war.

The attack — which instantly killed the scientist and fatally wounded his driver on Wednesday — was at least the fourth targeted hit against a member of Iran’s nuclear brain trust in two years. Tehran quickly blamed Israeli-linked agents backed by the U.S. and Britain.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton denied any U.S. role in the slaying, and the Obama administration condemned the attack. However, provocative hints from Jerusalem reinforced the perception of an organized and clandestine campaign to set back Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

This has all the earmarks of act of Israeli terrorism, but I have no doubt that there will be people blaming Obama.

From Think Progress: Five senators and 39 representatives received a perfect 100 percent score [Koch delinked] from the Koch brothers’ Astroturf group Americans For Prosperity for the first half of the 112th Congress. AFP judged Congress on their votes to protect the Koch brothers’ right-wing petrochemical empire [Koch delinked] on such issues as the repeal of President Obama’s new health care law, preempting EPA’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases, Chairman Paul Ryan’s budget to end Medicare, ending ethanol subsidies, several Congressional Review Act resolutions of disapproval to overturn new regulations and the fiscal year 2012 appropriations bills.

  1. Buchanan — He hasn’t learned yet that just as he has free speech and chooses to spew his filth on a white supremecist radio show with that freedom, others also have free speech and when sufficiently provoked, will direct their comments to the right people, that being people who can take Buchanan off the air.  Hey Bucko, what’s good for the goose, is also good for the gander!  And by the way Bucko, free speech is contained in the 1st amendment to the US Constitution, so don’t try anything stupid, you washed up has been.

Iran Killing — I heard it on the news this evening on my way home.  My first reaction was Mosad, but I also wondered if the CIA were involved.  Didn’t think of Britain but they have been doing some sabre rattling with Iran of late.  I’m sure that Israel is responsible, but co-conspirators, I don’t know.  Of course Ahmadinejad is the poster boy for sabre rattlers!  Makes me wonder if he could have done it to promote his own agenda.  Of course, he’s on the naughty list with the Ayatollah, so who knows.

Koch Brothers and AFP — I find this so blatant, in your face, bullshit —  The Koch Five who have received a combined $187,400 in campaign contributions are :

    • Sens. Tom Coburn (R-OK) ,  — like that is a BIG surprise.  NOT!!!!!
    • Mike Crapo (R-ID), — this guy is full of crap!
    • Orrin Hatch (R-UT), — where did this guy hatch?
    • Marco Rubio (R-FL), — the young buck that has had his name in the news a lot in 2011; just another pretty boy with no brains!
    • Ron Johnson (R-WI), — a Walkerite!

Campaign financing regulations really need an overhaul!

Cartoons — You know, if corporations are people too, doesn’t that mean that Mittens is guilty of murder?!?  Afterall, he did do the chopshopist thing, dismembering corporations!  And worst of all, he did it for money!  They’ll love him in prison garb!

BTW, heard today that Hostess, the maker of that fine edible oil product called Twinkies, has declared chapter 11 bankruptcy and is blaming pensions and benefits as the primary reason, but not the only one.  Oh I wonder which Republican/Teabagger will pick this one up so they can get a lifetime supply of Twinkies?  One think in Hostess’s favour, eat too many Twinkies and your life will be dramatically shorter!

    • Well said.

Lynn, the guy was valuable enough to them that I think we can rule out a false flag.  The trade-craft used is vintage Mossad.  Further Israel has an incentive to provoke Iran.  If Iran retaliates in the Straits of Hormuz, that could pull the US into military action.

I guess nobody needs to click through. 😉

      Excellent point!

Maybe the Twinkies joined Sponge Bob Square Pants and the purple Teletubby in a conspiracy to make us all gay! 😉

  2. It’s simply impossible to believe that corporations are people … until Texas executes one of them.

  3. 4:50

Buchanan – good riddance to bad rubbish!

Iranian nuclear scientist killed – I’m inclined to agree with Lynn about Mossad and possibly CIA.

Koch’s shills – I’m glad none of them represent me. Yet.

Cartoon – Execute the corporations for all the deaths they caused with their unsafe practices all over the world.

  4. I really hate Twinkies……

  5. 4:22  That one was harder than it looked.
