Yesterday was much cooler.  The temperature at my desk is still in the 80s, and it might even make it into the 70s tomorrow as the building bleeds off heat.  I had a ton of volunteer work to do in preparation for Wednesday’s volunteer day in prison.  I also caught up on replies.  Tomorrow I’ll be resting as much as I can to recover and recharge for Wednesday.

Jig Zone Puzzles:

Yesterday’s took me 3:20 (average 4:35).  To do it, click here.  Today it took me 3:50 (average 4:51).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Tea Party Debate Report:

The following is the complete list of everything said that was new, worthwhile, and/or honest.

[end of report]

Short Takes:

From Countdown: Worst persons – Bought-Bitch Mitch, No-Brain Nikki, Glenn Who?

What a foul menagerie!

From Daily Kos: House Majority Leader Eric Cantor clearly hates America. During the 10th anniversary of 9/11, he is insisting that first responders funding get the axe to pay for President Obama’s request for $5.1 billion in disaster aid.

The Republican logic here is that, if first responders can’t do their job, fewer Americans will survive to need disaster aid.

From AP: Bank of America is slashing 30,000 jobs as part of an effort to reverse a crisis of confidence among investors. It’s the largest single job reduction by a U.S. company this year.

Can there be any doubt but that the Bankster criminals are still working, while 30,000 clerks, secretaries, and tellers are paying for the Banksters’ corporate crimes with their livelihood?

  1. $5.1 in Emergency Disaster Funding — At the expense of First Responders funding?  It is the same sword!  Is the little worm nuts?!  I think a better use of taxpayer dollars would be to cut Cantor’s and Boehner’s salaries to zilch!  I’ll through in the duct tape to silence them, and I’m not even an American.  My contribution to eliminating air pollution.  Do you think that his constituents get it?

The Teaparty debate — excellent commentary.  Very insightful, honest.  Journalism as it should be!

Cartoon — so this is the Church of the Ellipsiod Orb!  Can you tell me what is your church’s view of heaven and hell?

Keith Olbermann — The man is so funny and so spot on!  Perhaps McConnell should take the Sherman bridge everyday, and Nikki Haley governor of SC should take a drug test in addition to an IQ test.  Me thinks she gives women a bad name!  What can you say about Beck who is a certified idiot!

Puzzles — I got a little faster on these two but still behind the pack.  If I could just keep my livestock off the desk while I’m doing them, that might help.  What can I say, my fur kids love me!

    • Some do, and I hope it’s enough to vote them out.

      Thanks! 😉

Heaven is during the season.  Hell is during the off-season.

      Amen!

Kitty kitties are not conducive to solving puzzles.

  2. 3:45

    a foul menagerie indeed!

Eric Cantor really comes up with some good ones, doesn’t he? I’m wondering if he even has a brain in that little weaselly head of his.

thanks for explaining the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb to us.

  3. Now THAT’S an original thought: The Church of the Ellipsiod Orb. It’s true, though, that most Americans are far more impassioned with their favorite football team than they are in their own church or even the politics of their own country! Apathy and ignorance are the sins that afflict far too many of our countrymen today!

  4. 4:16 yesterday and 4/07 today.  Two loses.  I am 80 out of 256 (313).  Looks like Patty is today’s winner.

  5. 4:35 and 4:01Smile  Looks like the Republicans are getting their wish!  Hard times for everybody!  (except the wealthy)

  6. Well, today was my annual Wash-The-Windows day.  We had temp in the low 80’s, and since there are probably not many more of those coming I got out the hose, bucket, scrubber, squeegee, rags and went to work.  Got 36 windows jet-washed, scrubbed with ammonia, rinsed and squeegeed dry.  Plus I jet-washed 16 more clerestory windows (they’re too high for my telescoping washer/squeegee pole).

The nice thing (besides having it done) is that it’s so much brighter inside now, it’s like someone turned on an extra light!  Plus I had great supervision – my cat, Nike! Like the picture below – except reversed.  He kept a close eye on my progress from the inside, while I was slaving on the outside.  (Note: That’s not my cat – he’s all grey except for white feet – and boy, can he jump … hence his name of “Nike”.)
