I think he will.  He would not have left Idaho, where movements that inspire him are headquartered to take charge in London absent assurances that nobody with throw his prized butt in the hoosegow.  Still we can hope that his wallet and his propaganda empire take huge hits.

9MurdochRupert Murdoch is expected to arrive in London later to take charge of dealing with the phone-hacking crisis that has engulfed his News International group.

This comes as staff at the News of the World prepare the final edition of the paper, axed after new hacking claims.

Labour is writing to No 10 to urge the immediate appointment of the judge to lead an inquiry into the scandal.

Late on Friday, an unnamed 63-year-old became the third man arrested during the day as part of the police probe.

He was arrested at an address in Surrey on suspicion of corruption. Police carried out a search of the property.

Meanwhile, former News of the World (NoW) editor Andy Coulson and former royal editor Clive Goodman were released on police bail after being arrested earlier on Friday.

Mr Coulson, 43, had attended Lewisham police station in south London by appointment, and was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications and alleged corruption.

Goodman, 53, who was jailed in 2007 for phone hacking, was arrested on suspicion of corruption…

May the Brits jail them all!

Keith Olbermann has the latest with Michael Wolf on Countdown.

This has potential to snowball more.  I hope they recover and release those deleted emails.

  1. That son of a bitch Murdoch ought to strung up by his b _ _ _s. What an irresponsible, cutthroat liar.

  2. Micheal Wolf is right – this whole thing is going to snowball and it’s not going to be pretty. His son is going to be indicted, Rebbeca Wolf will be indicted and possibly Murdoch himself. This could go all the way to the top and I think his merger with BSkyB is done as well. (Thank God – the less shit this man owns the better.) And it may extend to his American and Australian holdings as well. Best case scenario, Murdoch is censured from owning anything again – essentially cutting off his income and both his hands. I can’t wait to see how this turns out.

TC, keep running this story to it’s end – everyone wants a piece of Murdoch now and I can’t wait to see how much he gets crushed, like so many others. Thanks for your great work on this. πŸ˜†

    • Go Lisa G! And Tom, thank you for your posting of the Olbermann clips — I don’t have cable, and very little of his show is available on the Web. This is fascinating and riveting. I’m with Lisa, hope the whole house of cards collapses under the weight of it’s own corruption.

Haven’t been this intrigued with a press-centered story since Watergate.

  3. ……………learned my lesson! Up until viewing Keith’s clip, I wasn’t holding out much hope that anything would come of this. I’ve changed my mind! I think this might be the shaky table that causes the collapse of Faux News and eventually tips over the elephant! 😈 I’m stocking up on firecrackers, in case of celebration, not holding breath just yet……………….. ❓

  4. Two more bright spots: the stock price of Murdoch’s company, News Corp., has spiraled downward all week resulting in “slashing the company’s market capitalization by more than three BILLION dollars.”

And although Rupert will most likely go free, his son, James Murdoch, is likely to face prosecution.

  5. Hopefully the British will succeed at what the USA failed to even pursue. His monopoly of public info sources has led to the mis-information of many viewers and readers around the world. He doesn’t provide news. He promotes gossip and fear.
