Stop Whining, Blue Dogs!

The Blue Dogs in Congress are whining.  They say that mean old Nancy Pelosi is ignoring them.  They say they represent the majority of America.  That’s a strange claim, because in November, voters dumped 26 Blue Dogs and there are only 28 left.  By comparison, voters only failed to elect 4 members of the Progressive Caucus, and 83 remain.  Voters rejected Democrats in November, because that acted too much like Republicans.  Most, not all, of the Blue Dogs are Republicans in everything but name.

BlueDogAw, poor babies:

Centrist Democrats have had “no communication” with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi since the start of the 112th Congress, one of the leaders of the Blue Dog Coalition said Monday.

Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.), who challenged Pelosi for the leadership spot, said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that “there’s been really no communication whatsoever” between his group and the California Democrat. “We still have not had the connection between the Blue Dog members and the leadership.”

Gee, after Blue Dogs helped hold health care reform hostage and ran (largely unsuccessfully) against President Obama in the last midterm, why would the Democratic Party leadership want to listen to their whining?

Oh, because Blue Dogs represent most of America, according to Shuler… [emphasis added]

The Blue Dogs that goose step with the Republicans on virtually every issue deserve no attention, no consideration, and especially no funding.  They should stop whining and support the needs of their constituents, not the greed of their financiers.

  1. I hope the Democratic Party will put their money on real liberals and progressives rather than DINO blue dogs. They can get their money from their deluded constitutencies who continue to get them elected. The national party should shove them under the bus.
