I’m waiting for Store to Door to arrive with my groceries, and Wendy is coming this evening, so I’m quite busy.  Tomorrow, please expect no more than a Personal Update, because it’s my monthly Physical Terrorism with Courtney, who loves to be called Lady Torquemada.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

T^oday’s took me 2:57 (average 4:51).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Let’s Be Honest: Trump’s Banning Muslims and Purging Hispanics

Republicans have been the party of bigotry, hate, and racism for decades. But the hate-filled hairball and jus Nazi sidekick have taken it to a level that makes the KKK seem moderate by comparison. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: On the final day of Black History Month, Donald J. Trump thanked Ben Carson for participating in a handful of photo opportunities during the month, and bade him farewell until Black History Month next year.

Saying goodbye to Carson at the White House, Trump praised him for “sitting or standing next to me” at various times over the past four weeks.

Andy sure has that right. It’s the only time of year the racist Resident (NOT President) and the token Uncle Tom feel the need to associate.  RESIST!!

From NY Times: A ruling issued on Monday by a federal judge in Manhattan, in a case brought by a freelance journalist without a lawyer, may interest the White House. The judge said that the New York Police Department may have violated the First Amendment by revoking the press credentials of the journalist, Jason B. Nicholas.

The ruling was preliminary, and the Police Department said it had legitimate reasons for its actions. But Judge J. Paul Oetken’s decision was timely, following as it did the exclusion of several news organizations from a Friday briefing at the White House.

“It has been held impermissible,” Judge Oetken wrote, “to exclude a single television news network from live coverage of mayoral candidates’ headquarters and to withhold White House press passes in a content-based or arbitrary fashion.”

Last Friday’s developments at the White House crossed that legal line, said Jameel Jaffer, the director of the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University.

Don’t just sit there, media! sue the damn Fuhrer! RESIST!!

  1. 4:12  Doesn't look very tasty.

I am sure no one will have forgotten this case from last May.  It was so over the top it got a column all to itself.  And now the misbegotten mastermind's face is all vover the news again as he walks free.  It may be too late to change that, but at least there is a petition to remove the Judge from the bench.

Keith – I don't mean to be condescending, though I know it sounds like it, but Keith is so cute when he's mad.  Of course what I mean is that the things he is telling here in Episode 40 are so outrageous that anger is the only appropriate response to it, and when he doesn't hold back, he makes that clear – and it is beautiful.  I may have to give the Furies the week off and just tell them to go talk with Keith.

TNY – Seems sad to torture Ben during his own month – but I guess he bought it.

NYT – Yeah, I hope they'll see them in court.

Cartoon – I've been enjoying the little videos Raw Story is putting between their articles and their comment sections – my only complaint is that you can't  back up or fast forward – but they are all so short, 2 minutes max, and most under 1 minute – I have been able to live with it.  I bring it up because they have one today on the Salem trials, including the conditions that led up to them, and I found it illuminating (they also have one that's been up for several days about what happens when a politician gets into a squabble with the press.)

  2. YT/GQ: Keith continues to hit it out of the park.  I am impressed with his demeanor, given how frigging angry he must have been, as the evidence about Der Orange Fuhrer built!  I posted the story of Mem fox, and the border Nazis, on C2!

New Yorker:  It really is getting harder to tell when Andy's tongue is in his cheek, or not.  Speaking of Dr. Ben, I was surprised to run across a reference to him, last week, while reading "The Bonobo and the Atheist, In search of Humanism Among the Primates," by Frans De Waal: "This is why the bonobo disagrees with anyone who pits evolution against morality, such as the well-known American neurosurgeon Benjamin Carson, who has claimed, 'Ultimately, if you accept the evolutionary theory, you dismiss ehtics, you don't have to abide by a set of moral codes, you determine your own conscience based on your own desires.'"  This piece of drivel came from "Evolution?  No: A conversation with Dr. Ben Carson," Adventist Review, 26 February2004.

NYT: May the evidence wind up burying this asinine administration!

Cartoon: If  you go to the Witchcraft Museum, in Salem, Mass., you will be treated to quite a vivid story of the trials, including the admission by the girls who got it all started, that they were just tring tohave fun!  If you stay tuned to the story of Schmuck a l'Orange, you might be treated to new witch trials…NO THEY HAVE ALREADY BEGUN, SEE KEITH, ONCE MORE!

  3. KO: He is so spot on!!! Love this guy! Keep 'em coming, Keith!

NYer: Bet dt didn't shake his hand either.

NYT: Hope that this goes through. Yes, sue and RESIST!!

Cartoon: Sad part of history, but oh, of course they gloated over this event. They still do…every day.

Busy day for you, as well as tomorrow. Safe travels to & from, and best to you, with Courtney. I hope that you have a relaxing evening, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  4. Puzzle — 2:57  Looks so soft and cuddly!

YouTube — Keith is spot on!  Listening to Drumpf's speech yesterday to Congress, the non thinking would think that Drumpf was softening, even back tracking on some of his campaign pronouncements like some of those on immigration.  But leopards don't change their spots.  He is still banning Muslims and purging Hispanics.

    Resist and Persist!!!

The New Yorker — It is amazing that Drumpfenfarten brought Carson into his cabinet given his racism.  Drumpfenfarten's African American.

    Resist and Persist!!!

NY Times — I hope the media outlets have the cajones to sue the Drumpf administration . . . and win big time!!!

    Resist and Persist!!!

Cartoon — Another way to keep free thinking women down.

    Resist and Persist!!!

  5. Give Lady Torquemada your best, TomCat, and our best for doing such a great job on you.

Keith Olbermann: Yes, it is a Muslim ban and, yes, it is a purge of Hispanics and they both are used to drive fear in the hearts of Americans for authority. They ARE an act of terrorism against the people of America. Amen, Keith, Amen.

TNY: High praise for Ben Carson from Drumpf. It'll probably the only praise Carson will ever get from him, unless Andy makes it up again next year, that is.

NYT: It's unclear from the NYT article if the journalist, Jason Nicholas, brought the parallel between the NYPD revoking his press credentials and the White House barring media from press conferences or live coverage before this judge. The last paragraphs give the impression that this became clear to him after the judge, Paul Oetken, had made the connection and deemed them both a violation of the First Amendment. As it was a hearing, that would be a rather political statement from the judge, but a very, very welcome one. Thanks, judge Oetken.

Cartoon: Soon to start again in a court near you.

    RESIST & PERSIST

  6. Thanks all.  Pooped hugs!
