5It’s still day 81.  I’m changing my schedule.  I plan to upload articles whenever I finish writing them for the day.  It will keep me more current, and I won’t have to wait until midnight to upload.  I’ll be a little less regular, but I think I’ll get more rest this way.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s is on the first Open Thread.

Short Takes:

From Daily Kos: That he can say such vile things with a smile on his face speaks volumes of his character. (Warning:NSFW or around children, or decent folk)

Barf Bag Alert!!

Behold the love of Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians! These are NOT authentic Christians. Authentic Christians honor the beliefs of others. Republicans prove the existence of DEVOLUTION.

From Washington Post: The Obama administration will propose setting aside the 1.4 million-acre coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) as wilderness, the White House announced Sunday, a move that will spark a fierce battle with the new Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee chairman, Lisa Murkowski, and other Alaska Republicans.

I fully support this move and wish he would do more.

From Desmoines Register: Donald Trump is aggressively pushing himself back onto the Iowa stage as presidential material.

In a sit-down interview with The Des Moines Register, he said the two presumed GOP frontrunners, Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush, are doomed to lose — and he expressed regret that he hadn’t run himself in 2012.

Trump said he should be in the White House right now.

When Trump joins the clown car, every day is a bad hair day.

  1. I gotta say, Donald Trump is the only RepubliCON I'm aware of that has takn more bankruptcies than Bu$h the Le$$er..that must count for something amongst the vulture capitalists, he keeps getting more air-time & free publicity!

  2. "n one fell swoop, Mr. Trump brutally exposed the potentially fatal weaknesses of the two Republicans who might well have broader appeal than any others on the presumptive Republican ticket (New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie possibly excluded).

Of course, this is what Trump does. The chances of him running for president are roughly equal to the chances that Earth will be overrun by Ewoks by Memorial Day. (In other words, not very likely.) He was there for microphone and the money shots of his legendary hair.

But his comments were just an inkling of the 18 months ahead."

I think the courts would side with Obama on the ANWR no matter what senators say.

I'm glad you are exploring options for the finding schedule that best meets your needs.

  3. DKos – I didn't have the stomach to watch all, but I noticed a solid percentage of those I did watch had a construction of "Die, scum!  Have a nice day!"  If insanity is doing the same thing again and again while expecting different results, what would the word be for this kind of mixed message?  It's not hypocrisy; that's more of a conflict between deeds and words.  It's not entitlement; that is supporting one thing for one person/group and a different thing for a different person/group.  The closest I can come is MPD but I hate to use an actual well known mental health diagnosis (I know I pushed anosognosia, but that is hardly a well known diagnosis).

WaPo – I saw this but didn't have time (still haven't) to look at a map and see whether it is woefully inadequate or actually positive.  Either way, yes, of course Republicans will hate it.

Desmoines Register – Well, you gotta admit it is sweet of the Desmoines Register to be willing to interview everyone and his dog.  (Did you notice they had links to two articles critical of their own new "Senator" PigNuts?)  JL, I agree the chances are roughly equal to the chances that Earth will be overrun by Ewoks that he will run for President ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET.  I think the chances are much higher that he might self-fund and run as an Independent.  And I pray fervently for that.

Cartoon – Applies to more than just the SOTU, certainly.

  4. Republicans prove the existence of DEVOLUTION.

    ROFLMAO… 😆

  5. Daily Kos:
A BARF BAG ALERT. Has to be the most expletive video presentation I've ever heard aside from Ted Nugent's nonsensical ramblings. His "fan" mail indicates that there is so much hate against this man.

"Dawkins is an atheist, a vice president of the British Humanist Association, and a supporter of the Brights movement.[6] He is well known for his criticism of creationism and intelligent design."

    Washington Post:
Yep, the GOP are going to attack this Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) down to a very smaller scale. Actually, I would like to see the Arctic completely protected, not just 1.4 million acres.

    Desmoines Register:
Donald Trump is so delusional. Why do the news even bother with him at all? Guess that the news liked his yammering of Bush & Romney. lol.

    Cartoon:
The official GOP response by "pig-nuts" Joni was just plain bad with her homilies.  Small wonder that the big wigs of the GOP no longer offer a response as they fear  they might lapse and slip an accidental bit of hate against SOTU address by Obama.

    • As a Christian, I disagree with Dawkins beliefs, but defending those beliefs against pseudo-Christians is trhew only Christian thing to do.

  6. Daily Kos:  And these people call themselves Christians!  How poorly they understand the meaning of Christianity.

Washington Post:  I hope he succeeds in this. How on earth did Murkowski become chairperson of that committee?

DesMoines Register:  If Trump ever does get in the White House, Lynn will have a new neighbor. Me..

Cartoon:  You nailed them with this one.

  7. Daily Kos – good grief I feel ill, [I had to turn off the video early as it was so foul] – and for two reasons, both the vile letter writers (I wonder a) could they spell properly, and b) did they sign their letters and put genuine addresses on them) – and from seeing the fanatic anti-religion Richard Dawkins who no doubt (from experience of listening to him before) was trumpeting that those letter were written by Christians, instead of having the wit to realise that they are written by Right Wing fanatics hiding under the guise of Christianity.

((BTW he was put to have his portrait painted on Sky's Portrait Artist of the Year over here and he was paired with a lovely Christian female cleric – and he was polite for the first time in his life that I have seen!  If I had only ever seen that aspect of him {never seen before} I would have thought what a nice man he was, but I have seen others when he gets on his soapbox.))

  8. Sorry – got distracted by Dawkins – I think it is an excellent idea to post whenever you have an article TC – and it may help your sleep too – here's hoping!

  9. Daily Kos — For me, no barf bag alert needed.  Of course I had heard of Richard Dawkins in the briefest of contexts, but was not as familiar with his theories.  The man certainly has a sense of humour to be able to read such "love letters", with all the profanity, and still keep a smile on his face.  I of course googled him and found this at Wikipedia:

"Dawkins is an atheist, a vice president of the British Humanist Association, and a supporter of the Brights movement.  He is well known for his criticism of creationism and intelligent design."

I must say that if these letters are from those supporting intelligent design, then the term is certainly a very bad fit, almost oxymoronic.  But then, pseudo Christians are an oxymoron to authentic Christians.

Washington Post — An excellent move but did he ever piss off Senator Lisa Murkowski, Alaska's senator from Alaska for the Greedy Oily Parasites.  There have been speculation and presidential announcements in the past (Baby Bush for one) that the Wilderness Refuge would be tapped for oil. Sure glad for now that they have put that to rest . . . but it will come back especially if the GOP take the White House in 2016.

Des Moines Register — I saw a picture of Trump recently and I immediately felt that urge to puke!  He is a vile creature.  The idiot is an autocrat who would lead the US into WWIII and WWIV.

Cartoon — Where is that ray of hope in the herd . . . the black sheep.

  10. The Brights movement is a sociocultural movement formed of persons who hold a naturalistic view of the world.

    Thank you Lynn Squance. 😆
