Credit Where Credit Is NOT Due

He certainly has earned the titles Multiple Mitt and Mr. Etch-a-Sketch.  As anticipated Switch Hit Mitt is trying to recreate himself yet again.  Last week, he claimed he would have endorsed the bin Laden raid, despite having repeatedly said that he opposes such raids.  If that wasn’t sufficiently absurd, now he wants credit for saving the auto industry that he said should go bankrupt.

9AutoMittCampaigning in the backyard of America’s auto industry, Mitt Romney re-ignited the bailout debate by suggesting he deserves "a lot of credit" for the recent successes of the nation’s largest car companies.

That claims comes in spite of his stance that Detroit should have been allowed to go bankrupt.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee told a Cleveland television station on Monday that President Barack Obama followed his lead when he ushered auto companies through a managed bankruptcy soon after taking office.

"I pushed the idea of a managed bankruptcy, and finally when that was done, and help was given, the companies got back on their feet," Romney said in an interview inside a Cleveland-area auto parts maker. "So, I’ll take a lot of credit for the fact that this industry has come back."

Romney has repeatedly argued that Obama ultimately took his advice on the auto industry’s woes of 2008 and 2009. But he went further on Monday by saying he deserves credit for its ultimate turnaround.

The course Romney advocated differed greatly from the one that was ultimately taken. GM and Chrysler went into bankruptcy on the strength of a massive bailout that Romney opposed… [emphasis added]

That clearly demonstrates that Romney just plain lied, because no private institution would make the loan.  Even his own Bain Capital refused top lend to the auto industry.

McConJob’s reaction was classic!

Had Romney had his way, Chrysler and GM would have failed and then been bought out by Bain Capital for pennies on the dollar. He would have declared bankruptcy to default on pensions and union contracts. He would have moved some manufacturing to states where union workers have no rights, but he would have relocated most overseas. He would have made a fat profit at the expense of millions of jobs. That’s how vulture capitalists operate!

  1. OK, Rmoney convenientlly lies – but we all know he lies when it’s convenient.  So, a little credit where credit IS due:

To tell a whopper THIS huge, Mittens (in those magical Mormon underwear he wears) must have a pair of brass balls at least THIS big …

Thank you SoINeedAName and I hope you don’t mind if I use the brass balls info to spread aroung…

    • SoIneedaname:  We know he is a joke, could you leave off making fun of his religion.  This is the same things the Republicans have done to Pres. Obama.

      • I’ll give you a strike-through on “magical” – the rest of it is entirely  fair and accurate.
(And your comparison to accurately noting that Romney does wear special Mormon underwear in no way is “the same thing” as Repubicans inaccurately saying Pres. Obama is a Muslim.)
    • On the issue of religion, it should become an issue only when it involves violating the establishment clause to try to impose religious dogma through political means.  Romney’s stance on gay marriage, combined with the role the Mormon church played and is playing to oppose the rights of LGBT couples make his religion a valid politicalk issue.

  2. His problem is  – His balls  are the size of a rat’s–teeny tiny soft — He lies– A Vulture Capitalist- Corporate raider– the slime of the corporate world–

  3. He is a dream for the Saturday Night Live writers.  He reminds me of a classmate who memorized everything to do well on the tests and then couldn’t actually remember anything after the test.  He made good grades, but didn’t actually know anything.

  4. Rmoney voraciously thumped Mr Obama and his reference to terminating Osama bin Laden during campaigning, and yet he is doing the same thing by claiming credit for the bailout of the auto industry.  The lying bastard!  In fact it wasn’t a bailout but rather government loans with interest when private monies were not stepping up to the plate to help.  Probably too much risk, but President Obama reasoned the risk and took it.

Jennifer Granholm in the Huffington Post — “It’s ironic that on a day in which we focus on the auto industry, we’re debating the merits of a guy who exhibits all the clichés we unfairly assign to used car salesmen.

America is not a business. It’s not about ROI. It’s not a trophy to mount on your wall.”

I couldn’t agree more.  A slimey used car salesman.  But then, he’s a chopshopist!

  5. The MSM has been twisting itself into a pretzel to explain that Willard really DID support the WAY that the auto industry bankruptcies occurred. I commented on some of the articles I saw, but my comments vanished. Go figure.

  6. Does anyone expect anything else from such a practiced liar?

  7. Unbelieveable
