Yesterday, Talking Points Memo published Maurene Comey’s farewell letter to her colleagues at SDNY, fro BlueSky where it had been posted by some one from Lawfare. Whatever you may think of her father, the message is on point and worth a look. It’s in hte second section of their newsletter.

There is another national protest scheduled for a week from today. This one is sponsored by Families First and being publicized by Care in action. Families First is specifically trying at this point to protect domestic workers, many of whom are immigrants, documented or not. Yes, the Apricot Antichrist wants to rip children’s nannies away from them, Quelle surprise. The link to find an event is here. Also there are some photos for the most recent one here.

The F* News refers to Amanda Marcotte (of Salon), but doesn’t link to her – I don’t know why – maybe because Salon is paywalled if you go there too often – but I found the article and archived it. So if anyone wants to go straight to the source, here it is.

I cannot honestly say this article is encouraging. But it is honest and frank, and probably pretty much correct. Democratic leaders need to deal with the fact the most voters are not like good Democrats, who follow the facts enough to know that middle class and poor people are better off under Democratic leadership than under what passes for Republican leadership, and therefore it is in the best interest of anyone not a billionaire to vote in Democrats. On the contrary, far too many voters are far too easily swayed by appeals to their guts.

Yesterday, It was quite a news day – I filled up two days, which is a good thing, because… I also had two packages arrive at two different times – fortunately, both were left on the porch so I got them in without having to endanger myself. Then I had online issues with one of my banks (I guess I should say “with my bank” since the other is a credit union.) The website appears no longer to have an easy way to put a message into a queue for them, so I ended up typing a letter, “printing” it into a pdf, and uploading that.

This from Wonkette pretty well sums up what we have all been expecting since last November. At that, it could be worse. If you remember my Stravinsky story – with the magistrate saying “In Germany today, such things happen all the time” and sending them away – at least we are protesting. And how. Right now I feel like I just want to live long enough to see Stephen Miller get to the FO stage of FAFO. But I’m sure when I cool down a little I’ll think of other names for that list.

Well, this is spooky. It was only two days ago that I made my comment about government in exile. I made it here, and also on Substack. And already yesterday it appears that someone with money read it. No, I don’t really believe that – it’s probably just a matter of great minds falling in the same ditch, as TC would have said – but the synchronicity is remarkable.

This from the F* News is not a huge story – but it does have implications which may or may not be hopeful. When the attitudes chronicled here start to show up in the voting, that will be a story – if it happens.

Yesterday, I was stressed out by the feeling that everything I did or wanted to do was fighting with me. So I’ll likely be brief in my comments on the articles I post. Honestly, I just feel exhausted.

https://robertreich.substack.com/p/trumps-first-buddy-is-in-deep-shit
Robert Reich reports Elno is calling himself’ Trump**’s “first buddy.” Without comment on intellectual intelligence which Elno may or may not possess, it’s been clear for some time that his EQ (Emotional intelligence quotient) is a single digit.

https://joycevance.substack.com/p/the-democracy-index
Joyce Vance lays out how she plans to chronicle this Trump** administration (differently from the wayshe did so last time) in hope of minimizing distractions. I’m not sure she realizes that it’s not just the media, or MAGA, or Putin, who are actively working to distract us. When I dug out the Windows 10 laptop earlier ths year, and again when I dug out the Windows 10 desktop, I literally spent over a week on each one just uninstalling distractions. And I have not yet finished on either – I just got to a point where I could cope. But now both are getting worse. Please note too that uninstalling some of this is in no way obvious -but the amount of links providing instructions on how to do so (not all of which even work, which is part of the issue) suggests that I am far from alone in not wanting to be distracted by crap I will never use.
