After I posted my articles here yesterday, I returned to bed and overslept.  Then I went to the store to get yet another mouse and and a USB hub, because my computer has only three USB ports, while I have a mouse dongle, Magic Jack, and a joy stick , and I plan to get a USB drive next week.  By the time I got back, I was already behind on answering comments and visiting blogs.  However, I answered all the comments and visited most of my blogging friends.  Today I will do little if any visiting, because it’s a holy day in the First Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  The Broncos play the Patriots.  Can they go 5-0?  I won’t get to see them play, but  can follow the game online.  It’s either that or watch the Bird Bowl, the Falcons are playing the Sea Chickens.

In the latest Red State Report, the guys sound just like real Repuglicans.

You may wonder why I call the Republican Party the Repuglican Party.  During the days of the Bush Reich, Republicans renamed the Democratic Party the Democrat Party, because, they said, there is nothing Democratic about it.   Since then, Repuglican Senators, Representatives, and talking heads virtually always use the term Democrat party as an ongoing sign of contempt.  When they abandon this disrespect, I’ll stop using Repuglican.

Here’s a cartoon for your Sunday pleasure.

Have a great weekend.  How will your team do?

Yesterday was a busy one, but I visited most of the blogs on our list.  I hope to do so again today.  I do, however have errands to run, including getting another new mouse.  If this one doesn’t work, I’ll borrow Moose from Brother Tim and plug his tail into a USB port. 🙂

It’s a sparse day, because Obama’s Nobel Prize has dominated the news cycle.

After getting my articles up yesterday, I went back to bed and slept in.  I must have been really tired.  Nonetheless, I think I made it to most of the blogs on our list.  Today I’ll be here, but have some cleaning to do and groceries to put away.  Being able to shop online again is a real relief, because I can have my main shop each month delivered.  Hauling a heavy grocery cart and an oxygen tank up stairs was really hurting me.  I still expect to be able to make rounds today.

Still mouseless, I completed today’s Jig Zone puzzle in 6:15.  To do it, Click Here.  How did you do?

And here’s some more humor for you.

What are you up to today?

Last night I watched this and found it too good not to share.  If you prefer text to video, Click Here.  Otherwise, here is the video in it’s entirety, a little over forty minutes in length.  If you have not seen it, you owe it to yourself to do so.

While watching, I remembered something I experienced last winter.  During a particularly severe bout with pneumonia, my doctor wanted to put me in the hospital.  When I refused to go, she told me I might die, if I did not.  I told her that, if I did go to the hospital, my inability to pay the bill would destroy my good credit that I have needed to survive the last three years.  Then I would end up under a bridge, which would kill me for sure.  So I didn’t go, and I recovered, but it was a choice nobody should have to make.

I bet that this brings back tragic memories to many of you as well.

Don’t miss today’s other articles here, please.  The rest would all have been lead stories most days.

I expect to be around most of the day, but I’m slowed down again.  I don’t know what it is between TomCats and meeses, but my 2nd mouse in 5 weeks gave up the ghost.  So I’m using that dang touchpad again.  🙁

I completed today’s Jigzone puzzle (with the touchpad) in 8:02 (Yuck!!).  To do it, Click Here.  How did you do?

Yesterday I visited most blogs in my blog roll, and I expect to stay up to date today.  In the news there are rumblings that the $US will soon be dropped as the world’s oil currency in favor of a basket of other currencies.  China, Russia, Japan and the Arab countries on the Gulf are behind this move.  I’ll cover this when I can access better analysis than I’ve found, but I am concerned.  With oil prices no let in $US, the rest of the world will have far less incentive to hold our currency.  This could have a profound effect on the standard of living in the US.

Yesterday, to my great surprise, the Broncos actually came through.  I had thought that the changes McDaniels made to the team were sheer insanity.  However, now that they have a 4-0 record, inclucing a win over a quality team, I have to admit that maybe I was wrong.

I’ll be around most of the day and expect to catch up on comments and visits to other blogs.
