Yesterday I stayed caught up on comments, but got no visiting done.  I spent almost the entire day on website design for my volunteer group.  I’ll do at least as well today.  I still have a lot of work left to do.

Michael Moore has sent a letter to President Obama offering to replace Rahm Emmanuel.  Forget it, but what a lovely thought.

Yesterday I kept up with comments, but fell behind on returning visits, because I was working on the blog and on the volunteer website.  Today, I should at least stay abreast of comments.

If we did not already know that Faux Noise is the GOP Reichsministry of Propaganda, Sean Hannity just proved it.  In an arse kissing interview with Jim Bunning, Hannity inquired, “How many votes do we have?”

The Boys at Red State Update are getting ready for the Oscars.

Yesterday I surprised myself.  Despite the enhanced interrogation techniques employed at pulmonary boot camp, I still managed to catch up on comments and returning visits.  I think I can today, but I have a lot of web site design to do for my volunteer organization’s web page.

Short Takes:

A man named John Patrick Bedell approached the Pentegon and, when asked for ID, shot two police officers.  The officers returned fire, critically wounding Bedell.  His reason for the attack is not known.  Please keep the officers and their families in your hopes/wishes/prayers.

Bart “Coat Hanger” Stupak, until recently a denizen of C Street, threatened to kill HCR, along with twelve of his DINO cohorts, unless his anti-choice language is included in the final bill.  He may be bluffing, because he refuses to name them.  If he has twelve, let him reveal their names, so they can face our wrath.

Yesterday I managed to keep up with comments, but had no time for visiting.  While I was researching, someone in the building kept overloading the electrical system, so I lost power over a dozen times. :-(  As a result, I may have missed something important today, and there will be no short takes.  Today I have pulmonary boot camp followed by an appointment, so I’ll do well, if I keep up with comments.  Tomorrow should be better.

Yesterday I kept up to date with comments and returned all visits, except one.  Today is my volunteer day helping with a therapy group for former prisoners.  I’ll be behind until Friday.

Wingnuttery is alive and well. Rush Limbaugh called Nancy Pelosi "Mullah Nancy Bin Pelosi".  Speaking of wing-nuts, Bunning dropped his hold, and the Senate passed the extension package.

A consumer group filed a lawsuit Monday against Anthem Blue Cross, accusing the insurer of raising rates to force members into policies with higher deductibles and lower benefits.Consumer Watchdog accuses Anthem of violating state law by failing to offer policyholders comparable coverage and minimize rate hikes after the company directs customers to alternative plans when closing out existing plans.

The Senate whip count on passing the public option by reconciliation is now 33. Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO), Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) signed on.

Yesterday I managed to keep up with comments, but after returning home from my errands, I felt so tired that I needed to lie down and take a nap, so i didn’t get any visiting in.  Today, I have an appointment, so the rest of my day depends on how long that takes.

When Goldman Sachs shareholders demanded that the company investigate recent compensation awards, recoup excessive compensation and reform pay practices, the board refused.  Now why do Republicans say that companies are best regulated only by their shareholders?

Yesterday I did a good job of moderating and applying to comments.  Only someone’s first comment here is moderated.  I also visited my entire blogroll spreading the word.  That’s a big blogroll, so I was moving faster than sound, faster than light, even faster than a Republican can lie.  I have to run errands today but think I can keep up.

Canada won the gold medal in hockey yesterday, beating the US 3-2 in overtime.  Congrats to our Canadian friends.  It was one hell of a game!\

Yesterday I managed to catch up on replying to comments and returning visits, before I spent the rest of the day working on the website for my nonprofit group and building our new home here.  The intensity of the work had me so pumped that I could not sleep at all last night, so I don’t know if I’ll do better than keeping up with comments today.

Chili suffered an earthquake, measuring 8.8 on the Richter scale yesterday.  At least 214 people were killed.  The Richter scale increases expenentially, so the quake was almost 100 times more powerful that Haiti’s 7.0 quake.

The conservative establishment are trying to distance themselves from their base, the tea baggers, by criticizing the birthers, the truthers and other elements of the wing-nut fringe.  I see this as a positive development, because by doing so, they will alienate the majority of their base and spawn three way races.
