For the first time in over a week I actually got out and returned some visits, yesterday.  It felt great, and I hope I can can continue it today.  I am a little tired, because I waited all day for the medical supply company to call and reschedule.  They have it marked in bold on my records that 4:00 PM is my bedtime and not to call me after that.  Of course they called at 4:45 and woke me up, so I’m a bit bleary eyed, as my new camera should reveal.  So we’ll see how the day goes.

From San Francisco Chronicle: The Obama administration has denounced Proposition 19, which would legalize personal use of marijuana in California, and promises to "vigorously enforce" the federal ban on possessing, growing or selling the drug if voters approve the ballot measure Nov. 2.

This is a bad move on Holder’s part.  The US has no compelling interest in chasing potheads and could use their resources far better going after insider trading, financial scamming, civil and human rights violations, and most of all Bush, Cheney, etc., for war crimes.

From NY Times: Israel ended an unofficial construction freeze in Jewish neighborhoods in East Jerusalem on Friday, announcing plans to build 238 housing units. The move comes as hard-won peace talks are stalled over the question of whether Israel will extend its broader construction moratorium in the West Bank.

This confirms that the Netanyahu government values local extremists more than keeping their treaty commitment to a two state solution.

From The Portland Examiner: Numerous neighbors are confirming that O’Donnell, Delaware’s Republican candidate for US Senate, had frequent overnight visits from her boyfriend, with one neighbor complaining about the loud volume of O’Donnell’s amorous encounters penetrating the thin walls.

Is O’Dingbat’s sex life her own business?  You betcha!  However, when she brings everyone else’s bedroom into the political arena, hers becomes fair game. She’s just another pseudo-Christian Republican hypocrite.

What are you up to today?

Yesterday I tried to make it to the group where I volunteer, but before I could make it to the bus stop, I had two severe COPD attacks, so I turned around and returned home.  I replied to comments and should be able to do so again today.  We’ll see about returning visits.  I’ll be here all day waiting for an oxygen concentrator to be delivered.

Asked if she could name a recent Supreme Court case she disagreed with, O’Donnell said "can you give me a specific one?"

From SPLC: An embattled South Florida police chief — already serving a 30-day unpaid suspension for using city computers to share racist, tasteless Internet jokes with his command staff, including one E-mail suggesting President Obama should have been shot by his own honor guard — resigned late Tuesday.

A city investigation determined that Wilton Manors Police Chief Richard E. Perez distributed 86 messages with “inappropriate content” using the city’s E-mail system during a four-month period this spring and summer.

From TPM: In audio interviews obtained by MediaMatters, accused shooter Byron Williams says Fox News host Glenn Beck "blew my mind" with "the things he exposed."

Williams is charged with allegedly opening fire on police on Interstate 580 in Oakland, California, while on his way to "start a revolution" by attacking members of the ACLU and the Tides Foundation.

How many more people need to be hurt or killed before this Republican is taken off the air?

From Crooks and Liars: David Gregory once again bows to his corporate masters and right-wing political bent when he asks candidates Mark Kirk and Alexi Giannoulias whether they would reduce the deficit by cutting "runaway programs" like Medicare and Social Security. Over and over again we hear this lie about how Social Security and Medicare are bankrupting the country, despite the fact — FACT — that Social Security is fully funded through 2037 and Medicare spending will begin to drop as the waste is squeezed out of it via the Affordable Care Act. [emphasis added]

This is what Republicans call the liberal press.

From Media Matters: Glenn Beck went into new territory this morning, telling his audience that he felt that possible "toxins" and "poisons" affecting his health could be traced to his studies of progressives. After detailing several recent health ailments he has been experiencing, he suggested that the "poisons" his doctors are looking for are linked to his attempts to "understand the minds of" progressives, which he termed "drinking that poison which others may not find poison but I do because it is exact opposite of me".

The toxins in Beck’s system are Republican hatred and insaniTEA.

Three weeks left.  VOTE!!

Yesterday I felt quite exhausted and slept for most of the day.  Today I have a month’s groceries being delivered.  Getting everything put away will be a chore, because my COPD is still severe.  In addition, it’s a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos are worshiping in Baltimore to kick a little bird butt.  The services will be televised here.  I hope to get back to comments tomorrow.

From McClatchy DC: A group founded by Republican political operative Karl Rove has dropped $800,000 on television advertising opposing Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, just part of the independent expenditures that have flooded into the Washington state Senate race in the past week.

Patty has already neaten Reichmeister Rossi a couple of times, but I worry that this filthy fascist money could matter.
