Last Tuesday I was so sick that I could not stand up. WWWendy called my oncologist and called 911 on her instructions. They has to haul me out of here on a gurney. My chemo knocked out my immune system and I picked up an infection. The resulting Republicosis was so severe that I was pumping out fluids faster than I could rehydrate. I became so dehydrated that I ended up in Intensive Care, where they pumped fluids into me through my port and two other IVs. On Wednesday night, they released me from Intensive Care, but kept pumping we full of Ringers Lactate and Antibiotics. They never did identify the bug, but after my white blood count returned to normal, they released me yesterday afternoon with three more antibiotics. Obviously, we’ll need to make some changes in my chemo. WWWendy is going in with me Tuesday. JD, would you do Bill Maher? Tomorrow is a WWWendy day, so please expect only a Personal Update.

Personal Update–5/19/2019

About 40 minutes after posting yesterday’s update, I climbed into bed and had an attack of Republicosis so severe that, although I made it to my chair, I Republicated my pants before I reached the throne. Wendy had to come and take care of me. She talked to my oncology doctor’s nurse. It turns out the dietitian was wrong. They will allow her in to my infusion next Tuesday. Dr. Brosden may lower my chemo dose. I feel very weak, but I’m hoping to be partially in the saddle on Thursday. BIG Hugs to all.

It was my hope to climb back in the saddle. but I must not be ready. I slept from 8:00 PM last night until 8:00 AM this morning. By the time I finished medical scheduling mayhem, I feel too tired to do anything else. My Oncologist plans a better anti-Republicosis med to take after next weeks infusion. My dietitian also made more suggestions. Monday Hugs. Kitty, Kitty bedtime.

From The New Yorker: Former President Barack Obama said on Monday that he is unconcerned about Donald Trump accusing him of “the greatest crime in American history” because Attorney General Bill Barr does not prosecute criminals.

“At first, when I heard that he was accusing me of being the worst criminal ever, I have to admit I was a little rattled,” Obama said. “But then I remembered Barr’s don’t-prosecute-crimes policy, and I was pretty chill about it.”

Obama said that he was unsure what crime Trump was accusing him of committing, “but I’m pretty sure I never lied to the F.B.I. or anything as serious as that—so I’m good.”

Andy, I fear Obama may be screwing the pooch on this one. When Barrf refuses to prosecute criminals, if applies only to the Republican Reich. Barrf prosecutes innocent Democrats with glee! RESIST!!

PHP is a programming language used to build websites. We have it at all through our hosting partner, BlueHost. In order to update it, we have to go through Bluehost. During his life, TomCat was the only one who had access to our account there. I (JD) am now the only one. I have been to BlueHost and investigated updating our PHP to 8.3 or even to 8.1. I found instructions to do so - in fact, I found two conflicting sets of instructions. I went through one set of the steps and got the message that Our site could not handle 8.3, but that it had successfully updated to 8.1. I then went back here to see what it looked like. But I couldn't get in - either as an administrator or as a reader. It was just gone. I had to reach BlueHost by phone. It was determined that Politics Plus is in fact not compatible with any version of PHP newer than the one we have. BlueHost therefore uninstalled it for me, and the site came back to normal. Of course, like everyone else, I care about security. But I also am aware that TomCat elected to use different providers for several of the services that BlueHost provides, for instance backups. We are backed up daily - but not by BlueHost. However, out PHP is through Bluehost. I feel that if they are not worried about the older version, I am not going to worry about it. I believe that our security here is all or mostly through WordFence, whom I trust.
