Here are the results of the Obama Domestic Competence Poll.  The results are not statistically relevant, because the distribution of respondents do not match the demographics of the nation as a whole, but the poll itself has no internal bias.

Completely competent

Posted by Jerry Critter on September 18, 2012 at 2:54 pm

He is way more competent than Mitt, BUT he needs to be tougher on republicans during his second term.

I voted ‘Very competent’, which was the second of the two dominant choices.  I could not vote ‘Completely competent’ in good conscience, because Obama has fallen short in some areas.  The appointment of people like Bankster Bernanke and Timmy the Tool, when Robert Reich and Paul Krugman would have been so much better is one.  Taking too long to withdraw from Afghanistan is another.  There are more.

Nevertheless, the choice is between a candidate who is excellent in most areas and a candidate who is horrific in every area.  The choice is a complete no-brainer.

A new poll is up.

35-Patty

Patty is a regular, and you’ll find her excellent comments on virtually every article, almost every day.  She comes to us from Care2.  This is her fourth Big Mouth Award, having also posted the 28,000th comment in January, the 31,000th comment in May, and the 33,000th comment in July.  Patty’s is still a MAJOR Jig Zone predator.  Once upon a time, she used to complain that she would never be good enough to beat the average. But she goes after those puzzles with all the zeal of a Republican politician trying to steal a baby’s candy.  Now she beats my tail with even more exasperating regularity!  Nevertheless, She is a completely welcome fixture here.

Here are the results of our Romney Domestic Competence Poll.  They are not scientifically valid, because the people voting are not demographically balanced, but the poll itself has no internal bias.

Poll0916

And here are your comments.

For all his bluster about his business experience, Romney has forgotten the evidence created in past recessions that bailed the country out — spend wisely to create opportunity. Worked for previous Republican presidents as well as Democrats.

As I said in my last comment — space for rent!

Posted by Lynn Squance on September 10, 2012 at 3:08 am

Completely incompetent!

He has stamped on his forehead —

Large space for rent!

Romney likes to boast about his success as a businessman. How has he made his money? By out sourcing the jobs he "creates"!

We need those jobs here in America to get our economy back on track.

Posted by JEFF on September 2, 2012 at 4:46 pm

I would be very suprised if either candidate is capable. How could anyone say Obama is though seeing his own budget proposal was voted down 411-0 not one vote did it get so must have really been a mess. I see few endline differences in either candidates honestly in my research. Both will continue big government and over spending all while the first ever audit of the Fed. Reserve showed it lent in 3yr between 2008 and 2010 over 16 trillion that is right more than our national debt. Some say well they got part of it back. However the monies were just printed with nothing to back it so in reality it is useless but in circulation further devaluing the American dollar as we head for economic collapse. Both parties are bought and paid for people wake up.

Rmoney is a puppet controlled by the 1% he will say and do anything they ask as will lying Ryan. Americans deserve better support Obama.

Romney can’t even manage his own convention. How the hell can he competently manage the country?

Completely incompetent

How are we able to make a determination what Gov. Romney is competent at; we have not been provide a good summary of his work history and what his plans are for the presidency!

Posted by Patty on September 1, 2012 at 5:13 am

He might be able to handle the economy in a way. But, the way would be to deprive too many Americans of much needed help.

clip_image003

He did better here than on foreign policy.  I voted completely incompetent, because his lies gave become completely obvious.  Every time he opens his mouth, he puts his foot in it, and while aready so contorted, puts his head up his ass.

The new poll is the same question substituting Obama for Romney, and when done, we will have covered both candidates on both foreign and domestic policy.

In August, traffic here at Politics Plus was way down in all major categories.  The reason was obvious.  With kidney stones, major heart testing, and severe musculoskeletal issues, not to mention a couple record heat waves and volunteer work, I was gone more than I was here.  The blog’s poor showing was due to me and me alone.

We have 575,775 links on other websites, a slight decrease.

Our Technorati.rating is down to 116, low on the B list.  I have no idea why.  Despite over half a million links, Technorati only recognizes links on sites that have registered at Technorati.  Because we had so much traffic on Buzzflash.net, a registered site, we used to be an A list blog.  Buzzflash.net is gone and with the slowdown, we’re back to B list.  If Care2 were to register with Technorati, we’d be in fat city.

We have 3,646 articles and 34,454 comments, as of midnight September 1.

I recommend using your own avatar. Go to Gravatar.  Sign up using the email address you use to post comments here and upload the image you want to use.  Whenever you comment under that email address here or on any WordPress blog (several others too), that image will be your avatar.

Your participation remains a major part of what makes this blog worth reading, not to mention worth writing.  Thank you all for all you do, here and elsewhere, to support progressive solutions.  Together we are make are difference, and I hope I can get my own participation up sufficiently to be worthy of you.

We are still  well under the traffic we had a year ago.  That’s only partially because I’m posting a little less than I did then to take better care of myself.  The big reason we’re down is still that many of the tools I used to publicize our articles are no longer available. That makes your help that much more important.  We are less than 70 days from an election upon which America’s future depends.  We still have work to do.

I only rated Obama very competent because I don’t think he uses ALL the resources he has at his disposal. Why isn’t Kucinich in his cabinet, has he talked to Howard Zinn at all, etc?

I’m afraid that consulting Howard Zinn might be difficult unless Obama employs a competent medium.

I voted only somewhat competent.  While he has been outstanding in most of his foreign policy endeavors, he has failed to recognize that Bush and the Republican Party had already destroyed all hope of a successful outcome in Afghanistan and to bring our troops home.

Next we shall repeat the last two polls, but on domestic policy.

The gaffes on his most recent ‘foreign relations’ trip tell a lot but not the whole story. One need only look at how Rmoney deals with domestic matters by coming down firmly on both sides of an issue to know that he will do the same in foreign affairs. And as he previously said, he believes in Manifest Destiny in which the world is his oyster and he will take what he wants. Not someone that I would want to be in charge of foreign affairs. Rmoney is totally incompetent. The only thing he is compentent at is coming down on all sides of an issue, whichever is most convenient for the circumstances.

Posted by Patty on August 5, 2012 at 6:34 am

Given his track record during his recent visit to a mere 3 foreign countries last week, he is not qualified to represent us in a marbles match.

I don’t think there is any doubt, given Wrongley’s conduct overseas, that, he has not business handling foreign affairs. Perhaps he would have better luck in China!

I think Romney’s performance abroad demonstrated his complete incompetence beyond question.

The new poll is identical, except that Obama is the subject.
