Here are the results of our “Most Likely Clown” poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking or will of the national majority.

With the majority, I voted for Strike Three.  I think this primary season will be muck like it was in 2012 for Republicans.  While an overwhelming majority of the rabid base wanted anyone but Little Lord Willard, Banksters ruled by pitting the wing-nuts against each other.  I think Strike Three is their choice this time.

A new poll is up.

65-Yvonne

This is Yvonne’s second Big Mouth Award.  Her first was in April, 2014.   She has commented here intermittently here for over two years, and has done so more frequently in recent months.   She hails from Illinois and is a denizen of Care2. She loves freedom, Obama, Women’s Rights, and Animals. She can’t stand InsaniTEA. She supports Hillary.  She a;ways has something worth reading to say, so we’re fortunate to have her. Please join me in giving her the praise she deserves.

Depending on which website you choose (there are several), you can find support for all the answers here.  I can, however, tell you how many Republicans it takes to make the Clown Car too full.  One Republican is one Republican too many.

The new poll is up.  To be truthful, I tried to think of a serious poll and brain-farted, so I fell back on humor.  Have fun with it.

LeftyBlogFriends

If you’ve been following Politics Plus you may know that every year, in obedience to the divine call of the holy Ellipsoid Orb, we host a fantasy football league, called Lefty Blog Friends.  This will be our sixth year.  Last year we only had eight teams.  One of our players passed away, and I’d like to expand the league back to ten teams, so we need three more players.  I hope you will consider joining.

Here’s what to do.  Join NFL.com, unless you are already a member.  Then leave me a personal message here, with the email address you use for NFL.com.  I will send you an invitation from inside the league.  The first new player who joins is in.  The second will be in, only if we get a third.  This is because we have to have an even number of teams.

You don’t need to be experienced, and women are just as good at this as men are, if not better.

Two of our players are Care 2 denizens, Lynn Squance and I, and one used to be, Patty Lasek.  Lynn’s Size Nine Stompers won the Regular Season last year.  Patty’s Monster Mashers beat me twice.  My TomCat Teabag Trashers won the playoffs.

We will have a live online draft on Saturday, July 25, at 11 AM PDT, 12N MDT, 1 PM CDT, 2 PM EDT.

May the divine Ellipsoid Orb warm all Lefties and scorch Republicans.

Don’t hesitate to contact me with questions.

PS: Watch out for that Sasquatch!  She’s deadly! 😉

In the dead heat between few and none, I voted few.  I could never be so naive to believe that Hillary is pure as the driven snow.  But her authentic offenses are too low key to satisfy Republican scandal, mongering, so virtually all their accusations were collected yi the bottom guy in a triple-decker outhouse.

The new poll is up.  Don’t forget to vote.

64-JoanneD

This is Joanne’s third award.  She earned her first last September, and her second in March. I still have no doubt that there will be many more to come.

A denizen of Care2, she came to us from there, and is now a regular.  She’s super-smart, witty a political junky and an activist for all kinds of human rights.  As I said before, I have had occasion to correspond with her, and she faces some major issues in her life with exceptional dignity and grace. She leaves excellent links in comments.  Her puzzle solving skill is on the rise, so I won’t be safe from her for now.  I wonder if she’d like to join our fantasy football league?

Please join in assaulting her with the praise and kudos she deserves.  Her daily participation makes this a far more interesting place to be.

Here are the results of our “Bernie or Hillary” poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking or will of the national majority. This time, I think not.

I voted for Bernie, like most of the rest of you.  Sadly we do not reflect the bulk of America on this issue.  I endorsed him, sent him money and will vote for him. if he’s still on the ballot, which is doubtful, because the nominee is always a done deal, before the Oregon primary.  Unfortunately. mist American voters lack the political sophistication to understand Captain Kangaroo, let alone Bernie.

The new poll is up.  Please vote.

This April was a significant decline from last.

Here is our latest demographic data from Quantcast:

QUS4-2-15

They miss a ton of raw data, but among those they can identify they are a valuable source of information.  We are still mostly older, well educated, poor, and politically active.

Here is our latest ClustrMap:

CMap4-2015

ClustrMap misses a lot of, because many visits can’t be easily traced to a location.  It shows only the visits from March 3 to April 26, when it was last updated.  Having been reset to zero, since the last one you saw, this is much sparser.

Here are our top five articles:

Happy Easter! 4/10/2012 2,647
Jane Smiley: Capitalist Pigs 11/17/2010 1,046
Open Thread–4/6/2015 250
Matthews Hits Home on Iran 4/7/2015 175
Liz on Hillary 4/9/2015 171

The count represents only the people who followed an external link to that specific article.  I’m pleased to see three  from April.

Here are our top non-blog/news referrers:

Google 3,300
Care2 1,886
Stumbleupon 370

Two are down.  Google is up.

Here are our top  blog/news referrers:

http://infidel753.blogspot.com/
http://bildungblog.blogspot.com/
http://oakcreekforum.blogspot.com/
http://welcome-to-pottersville2.blogspot.com/

Normally I have included fifteen here, but these four are the only ones with two or more referrals.  This is the one stat that disappoints me most, because it means that we are no longer a go-to site for bloggers. Putting their links here increases the ratings of their sites, so this “linkey love” is our thank you for their support.

Here are our top commentators.  As the resident Big Mouth, I don’t count.  Those who leave their URLs in their comment headers, also get “linkey-love” here.

Lynn Squance (117)
Joanne D (100)
Edie (94)
Patty (93)
Pat A (80)
jla (59)
SoINeedAName (52)
Vivian B. (37)
Jerry Critter (25)
Jim Phillips (20)
mamabear (20)
Avril Lomas (5)
dave c (3)
Dotti Lydon (3)
Infidel753 (3)
Steve (3)

There are over 15, because of a tie.  People who submit articles to Care2 can use their submitted news link from there.  These are the people that kept PP alive during my illness.  I did credit Patty foe Pstty’s comments. 🙂

We have 349,788 links on other websites.

As of Midnight on May 1, we have 5,495 articles and 63,207 comments.

Kudos to Vivian for posting the 63,000th comment.

To be clear, we’ve has two lousy months, and that is not your fault in any way.  The main cause was the severe bout of flu I had that kept me down for the bulk of both months.  The Republican budget makes it clear that their economic “solution” is to keep taking from the poor and middle classes to provide welfare for billionaires and corporate criminals.  Their political “solution” is still to lie, cheat and steal, whenever and wherever they can. We still have our work cut out for us.  Whether you support Bernie or Hillary, I ask that you refrain from attacking the other and base your arguments on the good things about your choice.  However, it’s open season on the Republican candidates.

Thank you for all that you do, here and elsewhere.  You are what makes this site happen!!
