It’s that time of week again, and I’m happy to share four excellent video clips from Bill’s show last night.  Enjoy!!

Monologue: Take a Knee

I seriously doubt that Chinese people spit in the laundry, and from what I’ve seen, dawgs are bisexual. Yes Bill, speaking of Trumps tax plan is thinking of getting fucked up the ass.

Paul Hawken: Project Drawdown

Bill: "Nothing good is going to happen on this issue or on any other issue, until Democrats take over Congress." Amen!! Check Hawken out!

Punching Nazis

I fully agree. If we act like Republicans, how can others tell the difference between us and them? Call them out and shame them. Then, if they punch you, clobbering Republican Nazis is self-defense is permissible.

New Rule: The Kremlin Konnection

Dang! Those nicknames are as good as the ones I make up. Pence’s was the most evil nickname.  What could be more insulting than ‘Mike Pence’? Otherwise, amen and amen again!

I hope you got some comic relief.

I got to bed late again last night.  As I plugged my iPhone in to recharge, it notified me that it needed to update to sync.  I learned long ago that, if I don’t babysit it to input pins and password on prompt, it tends to upfuckticate instead of update.  It took an hour.  I overslept this morning, so I’m skipping my nap and will probably publish a little early.  My Quicken substitute, CountAbout, is starting to come together, although the documentation is poor and the learning curve is steep.  However, their tech support, unlike Quicken, is quick and efficient, and after my free trial expires, it will cost only $40 a year.  Tomorrow is a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos will be hosting the Raiders, and it may be televised here.  Teams are still TBA.  It is also a Wendy day.  Fantasy Players, make changes in your lineup before 6:30 AM Pacific, as there is another London game.  Monday is my four week cataract follow up, so the Monthly Report for September will be several days late.  In international terms, I’m putting 2 kilos of kitty shit in a one kilo bag.

Short Takes:

From CNN: President Donald Trump launched an attack on San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz on Saturday for criticizing the White House’s hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, accusing her of “poor leadership” and suggesting that the island’s residents are not doing enough to help themselves.

“The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump,” the President tweeted from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he is spending the weekend. “… Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort.” [emphasis added]

Here is what Mayor Cruz had said and why.

You’re doing a heck of a job, Trumpie! NOT!! RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: In an experience that he called “traumatic” and “horrifying,” the departing Health and Human Services Secretary, Tom Price, was seated between two screaming babies Friday night on his first-ever commercial flight.

Price, who was flying from Washington, D.C., to his home in Georgia just hours after resigning from his Cabinet position, reacted with alarm after discovering that the airline had assigned him a middle seat between two passengers holding inconsolably shrieking babies on their laps.

Moments after making his terrible discovery, Price urgently called for a flight attendant and reportedly told her, “There are babies on this aircraft. That can’t possibly be allowed.”

After informing Price that babies were, in fact, permitted on commercial flights, the attendant instructed the former Cabinet secretary to fasten his seatbelt and ignored his request to be served a free glass of Dom Perignon champagne and beluga caviar with toast points.

Dang Andy! I actually have to agree that seating Price between two screaming babies was “traumatic” and “horrifying”. Those poor babies will need psychotherapy to get over being seated next to Price! RESIST!!

From Robert Reich: Trump and Republicans are trying to sell you the idea that American corporations need a tax cut in order to be competitive. That’s rubbish. Here are 6 reasons why:

The Reich on the left is right! As I have long said, Republican supply-side lies are not the solution to the demand-side problems Republicans have created. RESIST!!

I imagine I must have you scratching your heads wondering how the Republican Reich could possibly support the National Popular Vote, since they depend on the Electoral College to circumvent the will of the people.  I wasn’t referring to Republican Reich, the Reich on the right that is always wrong.  I was referring to the Reich on the left that is always right, Robert Reich.

0929dt_web

We must make sure our democracy doesn’t ever again elect a candidate who loses the popular vote. That means making the Electoral College irrelevant.

Here’s how: As you probably know, the Constitution assigns each state a number of electors based on the state’s population. The total number of electors is 538, so any candidate who gets 270 of those Electoral College votes becomes president.

Article II of the Constitution says states can award their electors any way they want. So all that’s needed in order to make the Electoral College irrelevant is for states with a total of at least 270 electors to agree to award all their electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the popular vote.

If they do that, then automatically the winner of the popular vote gets the 270 electoral college votes he or she needs to become president…

Robert didn’t convince me.  Click here and here for two earlier examples of my NPV support.

Unfortunately, the NPV is in trouble here in Oregon, because one Democratic Senator has joined the Republicans to hold it up.

I just called his office in Salem.

Please support National Popular Vote.

Please pardon my brevity.  One of the other tenants overloaded the power and kept knocking my AC out.  Eventually the clerk found which one and helped him spread the load, but I missed sleep during and more sleep after, because I was so tense.

From The New Yorker: In a ringing endorsement from the Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos said on Thursday that she did the math on Donald Trump’s tax plan and that she estimates it will save the United States roughly eleventy krillion dollars.

“I took out a pencil and paper and figured it out the old-fashioned way,” DeVos told reporters. “I wound up going through a lot of paper, because eleventy krillion has ten hundredteen zeroes.”

DeVos stressed that the eleventy-krillion figure was actually a conservative estimate. “The exact number was between eleventy and ninety-quelve, but I rounded down to eleventy,” she said.

Dang Andy!! She sure is using her PhD in Bullshitology! RESIST!!

The Republican Tax Plan

An outline of the Republican Tax Plan is out, and Republican’s claim that it’s a middle class tax cut that will pay for itself and does virtually nothing to help the rich.  Of course, like Republican claims about the RepubliCare fiasco, the truth and Republican claims about it could not be further apart.

0928rumpGreed

The tax plan that the Trump administration outlined on Wednesday is a potentially huge windfall for the wealthiest Americans. It would not directly benefit the bottom third of the population. As for the middle class, the benefits appear to be modest.

The administration and its congressional allies are proposing to sharply reduce taxation of business income, primarily benefiting the small share of the population that owns the vast majority of corporate equity. President Trump said on Wednesday that the cuts would increase investment and spur growth, creating broader prosperity. But experts say the upside is limited, not least because the economy is already expanding.

The plan would also benefit Mr. Trump and other affluent Americans by eliminating the estate tax, which affects just a few thousand uber-wealthy families each year, and the alternative minimum tax, a safety net designed to prevent tax avoidance… [emphasis added]

The Gray Lady is being far too generous when they speak of modest gains for the middle class.  In fact a couple with two kids earning $79,000 a year would pay MORE under this Republican welfare for billionaires package.

Lawrence O’Donnell discussed the plan with Bruce Bartlett and David Cay Johnston.

Here’s the bottom line.  Republicans plan to take YOUR money and give it to billionaires.  It must not pass!

Before I can say whether or not I agree with Keith, I need to know what the players’ position is here. From YouTube (Liberal Redneck Channel): Take a Knee, Y’all

Amen Y’all! RESIST!!

From Exposed by CMD: A new study of registered voters in Dane and Milwaukee Counties who did not vote in the 2016 presidential election found that approximately 17,000-23,000 eligible voters in those counties were prevented or deterred from voting by Wisconsin’s voter ID law. Due to financial constraints, the social scientists were only able to do a study of two of Wisconsin’s 72 counties, but the authors say that extrapolating statewide as many as 45,000 people stayed home because of the law.

Donald Trump won the state of Wisconsin by only 22,000 votes, the first GOP presidential victory in the state since Ronald Regan in 1984. The shocking upset garnered national attention and helped deliver the electoral college to Trump as the popular vote went to Clinton.

Republicans plan to establish a permanent, fascist Republican Reich in which elections exist for show only, because Republicans would control who may vote, and who may not! RESIST!!

Here is the ninety-seventh article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Republican Senate Nominee Roy Moore. He is so honored for his proven Ammosexual, White Supremacist and Dominionist stances on virtually every issue.

0927roy_mooreRoy S. Moore, a firebrand former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, overcame efforts by top Republicans to rescue his rival, Senator Luther Strange, soundly defeating him on Tuesday in a special primary runoff.

The outcome in the closely watched Senate race dealt a humbling blow to President Trump and other party leaders days after the president pleaded with voters in the state to back Mr. Strange.

Propelled by the stalwart support of his fellow evangelical Christians, Mr. Moore survived an advertising onslaught of more than $10 million financed by allies of Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader. His victory demonstrated in stark terms the limits of Mr. Trump’s clout…

Inserted from <NY Times>

Since Trump abandoned Strange while appearing on his behalf and seemed so pleased that Moore won, I have to suspect that the only reason he supported Strange at all was because Bought Bitch Mitch didn’t want another Senator he can’t control.

Lawrence O’Donnell discussed Moore with his panel.

I owe you all an apology for never having put Moore on parade before.  He combines all the worst traits of Trump and Pence, making him a most representative Republican, who certainly deserves his parade.  If he wins in December, Ted "Uranus" Cruz will no longer be the most insane Republican  in the Senate.
