From YouTube (Daily Kos Channel): Rep. Jackie Speier on harassment in Congress

I fully agree with her, but am sick of Republicans and biased media using Clinton as an endless equalizer for scores of Republican perverts. RESIST!!

From Houston Chronicle: A Houston-area sheriff said Wednesday he’s concerned the driver of a truck displaying an expletive filled message against President Donald Trump and those who voted for him is creating a situation that could lead to confrontations with people offended by the sign.

From The New Yorker: Breaking his silence on Alabama’s embattled Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate, Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that dumping Roy Moore could start a “dangerous trend” of believing women.

“I think we need to be very, very careful here,” Trump told reporters. “This is not just about Roy Moore. This is about our country deciding that we are going to start believing women, something that we have never done before.

“This is a very dangerous road we’re heading down,” he said.

Trump cautioned that, if instituted, a new practice of believing women would “totally destroy” the system that the country already has in place. “For years we’ve had a system of believing men,” he said. “It’s worked very well. It’s done a great job.”

Kudos to Andy for channeling Trump perfectly! RESIST!!

What Putin did for his Piddle Puppet, Donald Trump, is obvious.  Had Putin’s Russian operatives not intervened on Trump’s behalf, Trump would not be infesting the oval office today.  However, to benefit from the illegal act of another is not itself illegal.  In order to prove conspiracy, one must demonstrate quid pro quo.  Now Trump’s quid is obvious.  And here is another nice slice of quo for Putin.

The United States has awarded a contract to guard the U.S. embassy in Moscow to a company with KGB ties, The New York Times reports.

The State Department awarded the $2.8 million contract to Elite Security Holdings, a company co-founded by retired Russian general Viktor Budanov.

A State Department official told the Times that the company has been properly "vetted" and will only carry out security tasks previously handled by local guards hired by the embassy.

The firm will operate at the Moscow embassy, as well as U.S. consulates in three other Russian cities. U.S. Marines will still guard the grounds and high security locations of the outposts.

Budanov, 82, previously led Soviet counterintelligence as the head of the KGB, where he oversaw now-Russian President Vladimir Putin when he was a young intelligence officer… [emphasis added]

On the surface, this might not seem like a very big deal, but it is.  Rachel Maddow spent 24 minutes setting up the history and explaining why it is such a big deal.

Rachel also demonstrated how this dovetails with other slices of quo that Trump has served his Puppeteer.

Short Takes:

From The New Yorker: Eric Trump has asked his father, Donald Trump, if he can have his brother Donald, Jr.,’s room, Eric Trump confirmed on Monday night.

“Don, Jr., got this ginormous room, and I got a crappy little one,” Eric Trump said. “Don, Jr., got to work in the real-estate company, and I got stuck with the winery. But all that’s about to change.”

Eric Trump said that, although his father had not yet responded to his request, he was optimistic that his wish would be granted. “It looks like Don, Jr., might not be needing his room for quite some time,” he said, barely suppressing a grin.

Make it so, Andy! Make it so! RESIST!!

From Cap Times: When Gov. Scott Walker announced his re-election campaign team today, it was like an invitation to a reunion for some of the players in the John Doe II scandal.

That scandal involved allegations that the Walker team was illegally coordinating with Wisconsin Club for Growth to raise money to fend off the recalls of Republican state senators and of Walker himself. (The Wisconsin Supreme Court eventually threw out the John Doe II prosecution in a corrupt and baseless decision in July 2015.)

Some familiar faces from that scandal are back on Team Walker.

Click through to smell the feces. The Fartfuhrer of Fitzwalkerstan is as vile as ever. RESIST!!

From Think Progress: In testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions repeatedly came under heavy criticism from Democratic members. At issue was his statement, delivered under oath during his confirmation hearings, that neither he nor anyone else on the Trump campaign had contact with Russia during the course of the 2016 election. It was subsequently revealed that Sessions had multiple meetings with the Russian ambassador and knew about other contacts between campaign staff and Russians.

Every time I say it can’t be any more obvious that Trump is a Russian mole, more evidence surfaces that proves me wrong.  Now we have a direct link between Wikileaks, Donald Trump and his son, as this superb investigative article in the Atlantic reveals.

1114Assange

Just before the stroke of midnight on September 20, 2016, at the height of last year’s presidential election, the WikiLeaks Twitter account sent a private direct message to Donald Trump Jr., the Republican nominee’s oldest son and campaign surrogate. “A PAC run anti-Trump site putintrump.org is about to launch,” WikiLeaks wrote. “The PAC is a recycled pro-Iraq war PAC. We have guessed the password. It is ‘putintrump.’ See ‘About’ for who is behind it. Any comments?” (The site, which has since become a joint project with Mother Jones, was founded by Rob Glaser, a tech entrepreneur, and was funded by Progress for USA Political Action Committee.)

The next morning, about 12 hours later, Trump Jr. responded to WikiLeaks. “Off the record I don’t know who that is, but I’ll ask around,” he wrote on September 21, 2016. “Thanks.”

The messages, obtained by The Atlantic, were also turned over by Trump Jr.’s lawyers to congressional investigators. They are part of a long—and largely one-sided—correspondence between WikiLeaks and the president’s son that continued until at least July 2017. The messages show WikiLeaks, a radical transparency organization that the American intelligence community believes was chosen by the Russian government to disseminate the information it had hacked, actively soliciting Trump Jr.’s cooperation. WikiLeaks made a series of increasingly bold requests, including asking for Trump’s tax returns, urging the Trump campaign on Election Day to reject the results of the election as rigged, and requesting that the president-elect tell Australia to appoint Julian Assange ambassador to the United States…

This is just a taste.  I encourage you to read this in its entirety.

Fortunately for us, Rachel Maddow breaks this down for us in two segments.  In the first, she provides more details.

In the second, she provides legal analysis with Chuck Rosenberg.

From NY Times: An Alabama woman accused Roy S. Moore on Monday of sexually assaulting her when she was 16, the fifth and most brutal charge leveled against the Republican Senate candidate. Senate Republicans are now openly discussing not seating him or expelling him if he wins the Dec. 12 special election.

The new accuser, Beverly Young Nelson, told a packed news conference in New York that Mr. Moore attacked her when she was a teenager and he was a prosecutor in Etowah County, Ala. Ms. Nelson was represented at the news conference by Gloria Allred, a lawyer who has championed victims of sexual harassment.

After that, even Bought Bitch Mitch condemned Moore, but he says Trump should take care of it. What will Trump do? Swap pictures with Moore? RESIST!!

This is my only article today.  I’m feeling slightly better than yesterday, but that isn’t saying much.  Virtually everything I found in my research are just new variations on old themes.  In addition, the Care2 Glitch Monster is so high on my shit list, that I’d just as soon avoid it, and especially the evil CAPTCHA today.

Short Takes:

From The New Yorker: The special counsel Robert Mueller announced on Saturday that he was closing the Justice Department’s Russia investigation, “effective immediately,” after hearing that President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, said he was innocent of any election meddling.

Moments after learning about Putin’s assertion, Mueller hastily assembled his staff of investigators to inform them that, now that Putin had fully exonerated himself, there was no point in continuing the probe.

“Vladimir Putin says he did nothing,” Mueller told his staff. “That’s good enough for me.”

Andy, that is absurd, but it appears to be what Putin’s Pee-Pee Puppet thinks Mueller should do. RESIST!!

From Alternet: On Sunday night, The New York Times reported that novice energy firm Whitefish Energy was wildly overcharging the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) for the hourly rate it paid line workers.

Whitefish Energy Holdings only had two employees when it was awarded a $300 million contract to restore electricity to Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria. To meet the shortfall, Whitefish hired contractors from Florida at rates varying from $42 per hour to $100 per hour with an average hourly rate of $63.

However, the company’s “shocking” contract allowed it to bill PREPA $319 per worker per hour.

The Times spoke to industry experts who said that $319 per hour is far, far above the norm about amounts to about 17 times what a Puerto Rican worker would make performing the same job.

Another day, another Republican rip-off. RESIST!!

From Common Dreams: Following the release of a slew of analyses showing that the GOP tax plan would raise taxes on many middle class families—despite repeated promises to the contrary by the Trump administration and Republican lawmakers—Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) conceded in an interview with the New York Times Friday that he "misspoke" when he declared last week that "nobody in the middle class is going to get a tax increase."

"I misspoke on that," McConnell told Times reporter Sheryl Gay Stolberg‏.

Bought Bitch Mitch did NOT misspeak. He LIED!! Republicans are trying to raise YOUR taxes!! RESIST!!

From NY Times: After cutting funds for nonprofit groups that help people obtain health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, the Trump administration is encouraging the use of insurance agents and brokers who are often paid by insurers when they help people sign up.

The administration said in a recent bulletin that it was “increasing partnerships” with insurance agents and viewed them as “important stakeholders” in the federal marketplace, where consumers are now shopping for insurance. But some health policy experts warned that a shift from nonprofit groups, which are supposed to provide impartial information, to brokers and agents, who may receive commissions for the plans they recommend, carries risks for consumers.

From Think Progress: The retailer [Wal-Fart] is offering 15 posters of the forced relocation of tens of thousands of Japanese Americans, which occurred during World War II, including ones of children waiting to be transported and a group of Japanese women within the grounds of an internment camp. The pictures are described as “the perfect Wall Art for any home, bedroom, playroom, classroom, dorm room or office workspace.”
