Once upon a time Stalin may have leaned over to KGB Head Beria and said "There is disloyalty among the generals." Beria may have replied, "What do we do?" "Purge Baby!" Almost a century later, another right-wing Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin (R-RU), may have leaned over to his subordinate and said, "There is disloyalty among the FBI." Trump may have replied, "BAAAA-A-A-A-A-A-A-A?" "Purge Baby!" And that’s exactly what Trump did.

Rachel Maddow pointed out last night that with the shocking firing of FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok, Trump has forced out almost every single witness to James Comey’s account of Trump’s attempt to obstruct justice.

I got my test results back today, and Megan was very happy with them. My A1C is 7.0 and everything else is in the good range. The weather is horrid with 100° forecast, 52% humidity, and severe haze from the many wildfires in Oregon and southern Washington. The picture below is a color picture from 8 AM here. From Alternet: British actor Sacha Baron Cohen has once again punked right-wing America spectacularly on his show, "Who Is America?" This time, his mark — pro-gun activist Dan Roberts — was tricked into aggressively sucking a sex toy on camera.

Roberts, who is the founder of Youth Shooters of America and who has accused the Parkland shooting survivors of "emotional blackmail," was being instructed on how to survive being captured by terrorist militants, with Cohen disguised as his Israeli anti-terror expert character, Erran Morad.

Perez Screwed the Pooch

"Screwed the pooch" is a military term used to describe a catastrophic error. Normally, I’m focused on promoting Democrats, but when a member of the leadership does something that is blatantly against the interest of the American people, as well as the Democratic Party, integrity demands that I speak-up.

Just two months after the Democratic National Committee (DNC) unanimously voted to ban donations from fossil fuel companies, DNC chair Tom Perez has introduced a resolution that would essentially reverse the ban, HuffPost reported Friday.

The proposal introduced by Perez says that the Democratic Party “support[s] fossil fuel workers” and will accept donations from the workers individually or “through

their unions’ or employers’ political action committees.”

According to HuffPost, the resolution “nods” to “forward-looking employers” that are “powering America’s all-of-the-above energy economy and moving us towards a future fueled by clean and low-emissions energy technology, from renewables to carbon capture and storage to advanced nuclear technology.”

The original resolution banned donations from oil, gas, and coal companies, but not from individual workers in those industries, something some activists hoped the party would take a step to ban, as well. Instead, Perez looks to, according to Friday’s report, “continue to welcome the longstanding and generous contributions of workers, including those in energy and related industries, who organize and donate to Democratic candidates individually or through their unions’ or employers’ political action committees.”

R.L. Miller, president of Climate Hawks Vote, said in a statement Friday she was “furious that the DNC would effectively undo a resolution passed just two months ago just as the movement to ban fossil fuel corporate PAC money is growing (and Democrats are winning).”… [emphasis added]

Now I have absolutely no problem with accepting donations from individual fossil fuels workers or their unions, but I strongly object to donations from fossil fuels companies and PACs. The only time they will donate to Democrats is to promote DINOs over Progressive Democrats or to instigate a quid pro quo relationship in districts, where they know Democrats will win anyway.

Therefore, Perez should either withdraw his proposal or resign as DNC Chair. I trust some of our petition mavens can point us to several.

From Mother Jones: A year ago this weekend, Charlottesville was overrun with Confederate flags, swastikas, and torch-carrying white supremacists.

While much of the anniversary has been overrun with news about Unite the Right’s planned protest on Sunday in Washington, DC, many are using the weekend to honor Heather Heyer, the 32-year-old anti-racist counter-protester who was killed last year in Charlottesville when a suspected white nationalist drove a car into the crowd.

It was cool enough to open the window this morning, but I couldn’t open the door for cross ventilation, because the temperature in the hallway was 88°. I expect a cool morning tomorrow until the heat returns to the 90°s on Monday for several days.

From Axios: The confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh will begin September 4, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley said in a statement Friday.

The hearings should last three to four days, Grassley said, a timetable that aligns with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s plan to get Kavanaugh on the bench before the midterm elections.

Here is the one hundred twenty-ninth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Republican and former England, AR police officer, Mike Moore. He is so honored for the typically Republican way he handles community race relations.

An England, Arkansas officer has been fired after resident Demarcus Branch posted a video of the cop’s racist behavior to social media.

Officer Mike Moore had reportedly been harassing black residents since he started on the force. Branch first sent a video documenting the officer’s behavior to the police department, who didn’t respond…

…Lonoke County Sheriff John Stale says the video wasn’t a factor in Moore’s firing.

“It is not a race issue, it is a personality issue,” Staley claimed. “He was terminated from Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office because he couldn’t get along with other officers and other agencies.”

Note that after harassing Branch and his friends, Moore went across the street and told a second group of black residents that they don’t belong in his community. Sheriff Stale has Republicitis so bad that his eyes are brown.

Sadly, he’ll be doing police work elsewhere right away, unless the Fuhrer notices him. If so, he’ll be working in the White House.
