I have long said That Al Dubya (as in G Dubya Bush) is far more dangerous, when it comes to terrorism in the US, than Al Qaeda ever was. For out latest example, here’s a white supremacist hate-crime, how his tea party mayor supports him, his sordid history, and how the hate groups that the Republican Party has embraced are linked together in a terror network.

The mayor of a small Missouri town has mostly nice things to say about the white supremacist accused of killing three people at Jewish facilities last weekend.

Marionville, Mo. Mayor Dan Clevenger spoke warmly this week of Frazier Glenn Miller, who allegedly went on a killing rampage on Sunday in Overland Park, Kan.

"He was always nice and friendly and respectful of elder people, you know, he respected his elders greatly. As long as they were the same color as him," Clevenger said while laughing, according to television station KSPR. "Very fair and honest and never had a bit of problems out of him."

Clevenger said he sympathized with some of Miller’s views, but didn’t like to broadcast that.

"Kind of agreed with him on some things but, I don’t like to express that too much," Clevenger, the owner of a local repair shop, said… [emphasis added]

Miller is not the lone nut-job the media is making him not to be, but part of a well organized web of terror.

Rachel Maddow had more to say about Miller, after an extensive discussion of some of his allies.

I think it’s long past time to release that Homeland Security report on rabid right terrorism, r4egardless of Republican objections. Furthermore, DOJ needs to return to indicting these terrorists for sedition, in spite of their Republican support.

In the ad, SBA List accuses Driehaus of voting to allow taxpayer funds to be used to fund abortions, despite the last-minute protections built in to ensure that didn’t happen.

Being a Canuck, there isn’t much I can do. However, I can talk up a storm on Care2 and Politics Plus giving my view on a number of issues.

One thing that disturbs me is seeing our Prime Minister take the Republican route in Canada. Right now he is refusing to deal with healthcare preferring that we go to a "for profit" system like the US. He also has election reform on the front burner to prevent voter fraud, but it is Conservative election fraud (think robo calls etc) that is the problem. Tinkering with voter ID etc. The damn Republicans are a communicable disease that is infecting other places outside the US!

So I’ll talk and be opinionated!

I do these things every voting cycling and this one will be no different. I’m not happy with DCCCD deciding to hold money from candidates, but that will not stop me from working on this up coming election.

I sign petitions left and right, alienate my friends, and talk politics in inappropriate places all the time. Occasionally, I get someone to agree with me. I don’t have money to donate or time to spend on the phone, but I can do a little.

I am retired on Social Security, I am disabled, I have mild PTSD which takes the form of an extreme aversion to telephones, and I am the world’s worst salesperson, which means any attempt by me to educate on issues orally will likely have an opposite effect. I am in a mail-in state so we already have a paper trail. (I do give what I can when I can. For the end of the 1st quarter I made a small donation but it had to be split among 9 candidates and Public Citizen.

Gee, no wonder I feel helpless.

Nobody admitted to being a lazy lefty. and we had only one goose-stepper.

Not everyone can do everything. Canvasing and phone banking exceeds my physical limitations, as would poll watching and driving voters to the polls, were Oregon not 100% vote-by-mail. What is important is that we all do all we can, and I hope this poll helps identify the areas where help is most needed.

From The New Yorker: Millions of Americans were in a state of shock this past week after learning that Congress had accomplished something fifty years ago.

Although the incident was widely reported throughout the week, the revelation that Congress had achieved something positive and substantial for the country a half century ago left many incredulous and baffled.

Adding to their disbelief were reports that the accomplishment came as the result of collaboration between a Democrat in the White House and Republicans in Congress.

Making the scenario even more far-fetched, politicians of both parties came to an agreement without the interference of corporate paymasters operating them like puppets.

Dang, Andy!! I’m not sure whether to believe that or not!! 😉

From NY Times: The insurance expansion under the Affordable Care Act will cost $1.383 trillion over the next decade, more than $100 billion less than previous forecasts, the Congressional Budget Office said Monday.

The nonpartisan budget office’s report, an update to projections from February, shows the law costing less than in previous estimates in part because of the broad and persistent slowdown in the growth of health care costs. The news might come as welcome to Democrats on Capitol Hill and in the White House who are struggling to defend the law in an election year.

Personal Update–4/15/2014

I’m writing for tomorrow. This morning I overslept. I awakened two hours before my prison volunteer group Board Meeting was set to start. The first words out of my mouth was “Holy”. I’ll let you guess the second word. Nevertheless, I was ready on time. I cooked baked breaded cheddar chicken breasts, blended rice, and broccoli with mushrooms. For dessert, I served red seedless grapes and mini-cinnamon rolls. After the meeting, I took our President to the bank to finish putting her name on the account and removing our old President’s name. When I returned, I cleaned up the mess. It is now after 6:00 PM, and I just checked my email for the first time today. I’m pooped.

Among his guests in the past have been Tom Tancredo, John Fleming, Matt Barber, Harry Jackson and other big names on the far right. They’ve continued to troop to his show even though he claims, among other things, that expanded rights for gays prompted North Korea to threaten nuclear war, that Columbine and Sandy Hook were carried out by "mind control assassins" and that North Korea threatened nuclear war with us because we’re moving toward expanded rights for gays.

Well, yesterday Wiles outdid himself even by his standards. He called for President Obama to be thrown out of office by a military coup. People for the American Way got a clip.

I warned in 2008 that Barack Obama’s mission is to instigate a second Civil War in America. His regime is deliberately ripping the country apart and if the US Military doesn’t take action soon to arrest Barack Obama and remove him and his regime from the White House, there will be no country left for the military to defend. We are on the edge of collapse as a nation. Jesus Christ is America’s only hope. Let us pray that Almighty God delivers us from this very real tyranny that seeks to persecute the saints of God.

If I had time, I’d give this seditionist Republican scumbag a "parade". Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christianity is NOT Christian. It is the opposite.

From Alternet: Detroit columnist Nolan Finley: Woman candidate is “milking the vagina business.”

Detroit News’ editorial page editor and columnist Nolan Finley displayed his ability to keep it real classy this week. Notoriously anti-Democratic and pro-corporate, he has long been using his perch to rabidly oppose the candidacy of Democrats, most recently Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mark Schnauer and his running mate, Lisa Brown. This week Finley wrote:

[Brown’s] confrontational style will give the ticket the spunk the colorless Schauer lacks, but won’t broaden his appeal. Brown could help bring in campaign cash, however. She’s still milking the vagina business, and is a minor celebrity among feminists.

Wait, there’s a vagina business that can be milked? How come we did not know that?

What that curious term means to Finley is that Lisa Brown favors reproductive rights for women, which in his world (roughly the 1950s) makes her an extreme left-wing liberal.

Republicans on Parade–4/13/2014

Here is the forty-sixth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Republican Rancher, Cliven Bundy. He is so honored for his violent Republican solution to federal attempts to enforce a law he refuses to obey. He called out the TEAbagger militias and their guns.

“We provide armed response,” according to a Montana militia member named Jim Lordy. Lordy traveled to Nevada in order to support a local rancher for believes that he should not have to follow federal court orders. When he arrived there, he told a local reporter that “[w]e need guns to protect ourselves from the tyrannical government.”

Lordy belongs to a militia group called Operation Mutual Aid, which provides “[d]efense of public and private property, lives, and liberty to exercise God-given rights [Republicans delinked], seen plainly in the laws of Nature, and codified in the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights, at the request of such parties in need of such defense,” according to a website associated with the group. Although only three militia members had arrived at the Nevada ranch by late Wednesday, when the latest reports came out, other militia groups reportedly “inundated the [rancher’s] household with calls and pledges to muster at the site.”

The Oath Keepers, a right-wing law enforcement organization that warns about the government “disarm[ing] the American people” and “blockad[ing] American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps, [Republicans delinked]” also announced that it will send people to support the defiant rancher [Republicans delinked].

This conflict arises out of rancher Cliven Bundy’s many years of illegally grazing his cattle on federal lands. In 1998, a federal court ordered Bundy to cease grazing his livestock on an area of federal land known as the Bunkerville Allotment, and required him to pay the federal government $200 per day per head of cattle remaining on federal lands. Around the time it issued this order, the court also commented that “[t]he government has shown commendable restraint in allowing this trespass to continue for so long without impounding Bundy’s livestock.” Fifteen years later, Bundy continued to defy this court order… [emphasis added]

Like so many Republicans, Bundy seems to think that he should get to thrive by devaluing what belongs to all of us. Like so many Republicans Bundy is responding to what he doesn’t like with criminal violence, the Republican Second Amendment Solution.

One might think that mainstream Republicans would distance themselves from this nut job, but he has the support of Nevada’s Republican Governor and US Senator Dean Heller (R-NV).
