It’s a busy day here in the CatBox.  Now I get to take care of the paperwork that got missed over apartment paperwork.  I’ll get to rest three days after they nail the lid on.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:43 (average 4:16).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Late Show Channel): Pence’s Trump-MLK Comparison Doesn’t Add Up

The notion that pseudo-pious Pence would compare that Nazi pervert with MLK is so vile that it could only from a Republican. RESIST!!

From YouTube (CNN Channel): Government worker who voted for Trump: I feel betrayed

Damn Republican fool! There’s a reason you feel betrayed. Trump and the Republican Reich betrayed you. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: Trump’s Assault on the Rule of Law

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. The Reich on the right, the Republican Reich, is a criminal conspiracy. RESIST!!

  1. 4:13 Interesting.

I didn’t see this until today. I think it might be good reading for any day, though.

From Rev Dr Barber’s sermon yesterday …

When nuns lobby for healthcare and when preachers say, “I’m not gonna preach another funeral over somebody who died from the lack of healthcare and said ‘God called him home.’” Instead I’m going to say, “God may welcome them home, but the government killed them.” That’s preaching.

She’s not from my state. She doesn’t “look like me.” But Deb Haaland (NM-1) may just be the closest thing to someone in Congress who really represents me. And she has applied for the House Select Committee on Climate Change (whose membership has not been announced.)

Colbert – By comparison, Traitor Tot not even mentioning King’s name looked pretty good. (Barf)

CNN – It’s obvious that anyone who has any kind of medical issues is going to be suffering. The only problem is that non-government workers who don’t have anyone in the family with any medical issue will ot be moved by those who do. They have no empathy.

RR – I’d be more thankful for an independent judiciary if we actually had one.

    Cartoon – Yup.

  2. SColbert: Good one, Steven. dt & Pence, & GOP, show others how to goose step, and march. That was very apparent when they went for 2 minutes to the MLK Memorial. Actually, it was when he put his ‘long’ fingers on the Bible, at his inauguration, and said the Oath of Office. Me, to quote his words….”You’re Fired !”

CNN: This is not who we are. I feel for those who are on meds, (healthcare), and those who are living paycheck to paycheck which is not even there now. It’s a cluster, and in day 32. Open up the government, so these folks don’t have to endure this financial hardship!

    RR: So true!!! Mr. Reich.

    Cartoon: Lordy…..Yes!

Fingers crossed for your application to fly through! Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “Not a dime should go to that wall, until Flint, MI. gets clear water. Now THAT’s an emergency! ~ Harold P. ~

  3. Twitler, like Nixon, has gone 0-for-3 WRT “The Rule of Law”.

Just like in baseball, by rights, he should be OUT!

  4. NO is known in Washington as the ‘Melania-Move’!! ?

    Hey pence? MLK said;
On the night of Sept. 13, 1964 a crowd of 2,000 packed St. Mary’s Church in East Berlin while thousands more listened from the streets outside.

Speaking from the pulpit, MLK called Berlin:

“a symbol of the divisions of men on the face of the earth. For here on either side of the wall are God’s children and no man-made barrier can obliterate that fact. Regardless of the barriers of race, creed, ideology or nationality, there is an inescapable destiny which binds us together. There is a common humanity which makes us sensitive to the sufferings of one another.”

i didn’t like how some of those workers blamed Republicans AND Democrats for the shut down!

Robert Reich is the best teacher, i easily understand everything he discusses!

  5. Late Show: Pence is living on a different planet than we are.
CNN: Drumph does not give a damn, period.  He is busy trying to find a way to save face, which is all he cares about; apparently said he does not want “…to look like a fool.”  NO ONE ELSE matters, in his world!
RRC: Drumph has never cared for the rule of law, and as someone who boasted about grabbing genitals, this should have been readily evident to the sheeple.
‘Toon: I’d like to put some cleated feet up some politicians rear ends!

  6. Colbert: Ain’t no comparison there. MLK was a man of dignity and respect. Nothing like the evil bas*ards in the W.H. Those two are both demons out to destroy our country.
CNN: Truly a real shame that these people are being treated even worse than they do the immigrants who are on the other side of the border. tRump is a heartless bas*ard that needs to be sued and prosecuted to the fullest and I mean where he’s wearing an orange jumper.
    RR: Speaks such truth.
    Cartoon: You got that right.

  7. 3:27 A bit of nostalgia.

Stephen Colbert: Thirty-one days already, and then have the gall to thank those people who have been forced into slavery, i.e. work without pay) and call them patriots. That word must be getting extremely unpopular in some circles. Excellent retort, Stephen, on Pence’s barf-bag-worthy comparison of MLK and ? (I won’t even put their names in the same sentence). I’m sure it hasn’t increased his ratings either.

CNN: Sadly, quite a few of those government workers put on furlough were not only blaming Drumpf and the Republicans, but also the Democrats. Usually the last in row, but still… Perhaps they should listen to Seth Meyers in A closer Look:

Robert Reich: “The question is whether this generation of Americans will have the strength and wisdom to do the same?” [The nation rose up in outrage against Richard Nixon who had violated, although less blatantly, the three basic principles of the rule of law]. Most of us here are of the Nixon generation, but how would you answer this question for the younger generation?

I read about the luxurious apartment you are currently applying for, TomCat. I hope with all my heart you get accepted. You deserve to.

  8. I like Reverend Barber! People like him remind me that not all Christians, or at least people who call themselves Christians, are @$$holes.

Comparing tRump to MLK? That’s not just comparing apples to oranges – that’s comparing a juicy, nutritious apple to a big rotten egg.

Everybody who voted for tRump should feel betrayed – except, of course, for the 1% fat cats. (My apologies to cats – it’s just a phrase.)

If His Orangeness is attacking the rule of law, he does NOT belong in the White House – he belongs in the Big House! Of course, if we kick tRump’s orange arse out of the Oval Office, we get President Pence, which could be out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Reproductive rights should not be dependent on a Supreme Court decision. They should be written into the body of the Constitution.

  9. Thanks and hugs to all. 23
