The heat wave is upon us, with an all time record high yesterday.  So far the AC is holding it’s own.  I spent a lot of the morning doing paperwork and scheduling more medical mayhem.  The surgery to straighten my eyes is scheduled for 12/12.  Dang!  Seeing only one WWWendy will be a 50% reduction in gorgeous. Smile with tongue out

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:00 (average 4:53).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Pressure Grows On President Donald Trump To Change Border Policy For Kids

Whether and how the Reich responds will depend on the balance between their hatred of poor Latino children, and their fear that the current exposure of that hatred will cost them their power. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube (Daily Kos Channel): "Fox & Friends" hosts defend use of cages

Barf Bag Alert!!

What Republican garbage! When families go to the checkpoints, where they are supposed to receive an amnesty interview, they are told to leave and come back when hearings officers are available. Republicans have made sure that none are ever available. After repeated attempts at legal entry, desperate families cross the border illegally.  Republicans separate the families, jail the parents,  and cage the children.  A chain link enclosure you can’t open is still a cage. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From Portland Tribune: Love was the treasure at the end of every rainbow during a Sunday spectacle in Portland.

Thousands marched, pranced, danced, jiggled, giggled, swaggered, stomped, sashayed, prayed, hip-hip-hoorayed and — above all — stood tall during the 2018 Portland Pride Parade on Sunday, June 17 in downtown Portland.

I did not attended, and I go for lady cats, not other TomCats, but I’m proud of PRIDE and my LBGT friends. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

Cartoon:

The Republican Reich has abandoned and violated it.

  1. 4:46  That has got to be the most uncomfortable and ineffective way to hold a sword that I have ever seen. Try it with a pen … for one thing, you have to get your arm very high to keep from stabbing yourself, and for another, when you get it aiming away, it is so backhanded it’s next to impossible to put any force behind it.

MSNBC – Someone pointed out that ICE is calling the children’s concentraton camps “shelters.” Even ICE isn’t explicitly claiming they are “no-kill shelters.”

F&F (is that Fux & Fiends?) – Kirstjen Nielsen – one of the Regime’s bigger liars – and the competition is fierce. BTW, Republicans have been screaming about immigration for years, and for years I have seen no reason to change my belief that messing with immigrants is a solution without a problem. (The same is true of the deficit, although the way Republicans are shooting it up they may make it into a problem!)

Portland – Great parade. Sorry if it stole sleep from you. Glad if it didn’t.

Cartoon – Did we even sign that one? We are the ONLY.COUNTRY.IN.THE.WORLD which has not signed the one on the rights of children.

  2. MSNBC: The gop/poutus have hearts of stone when it comes to this. imho.

BBA: Unbearably cruel. btw…if replublicons think it’s such a ‘great idea’ why haven’t we seen any (including dt) go to the border to view this misery? You know what my answer is. ‘period’.

PT: Awww…such a great picture. My bil goes to the one in MN, which is this upcoming weekend…he loves it.

    Cartoon: Sad.

It’s raining here, which we needed. Hope that you have a good relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. I wonder how history will remember this head-on collision between a train wreck and a rolling dumpster fire we call the tRump regime (I will NOT dignify it with a term like “administration” because it is a total f–k up!).

Good to know that you are a Straight Ally.

  4. MSNBC: We may be months from the mid-term elections, but I would think that candidates can refer to Darth Trump and the Dark Days of Childhood he’s created!!  People will remember!
DK: Anything these collective sleazy asses put forth is odious and sick!  A cage is a cage, is a cage!  Maybe someone should ask John McCain about that!
    PT: More power to them!

  5. Dang, TomCat.  You won’t be able to see both sides of the issues after you get your eyes fixed. ?

  6. MSNBC & DK Nothing to add but this:

World war 2 children behind barbed wire in a German concentration camp set up in the occupied part of the Karelian Assr 1941 or 1942

PT: Be proud and celebrate while you can, LGBT community, and then GET OUT THE VOTE! Because if you do not take back The House and most of Congress, you’ll be in cages next.

Cartoon: Let me repeat: The US is the ONLY country in the world not to have ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

  7. Puzzle — 3:39  If you try to eat this Puddy Tat, I think you’ll have a mouthful of marbles!

MSNBC — Keep up the pressure on Drumpf and Republicans re immigration policy.  Republicans must pay dearly for their devotion to der Fuhrer and his hate.  I think that Republicans will be more interested in maintaining power, but to me, any backpedalling they do on this explosive issue is for naught.  They have shown their true colours and deserve to be relegated to the dustbin of history!

Daily Kos — AMEN Lona!!!  Perhaps the children and/or grandchildren of Republican lawmakers should be rounded up and put in detention and let Republicans feel the pain.  Of course I don’t have the means, nor would I want to inflict such trauma on their children, but how does one knock some sense into these morons?  As to Fox & Friends,

Portland Tribune — Kudos to those in the PRIDE parades wherever they be!  Gay rights are human rights!!!

Cartoon — That may be but the US displays its hypocrisy for all to see when it condemns human rights abuses in other nations while it routinely abuses its citizens (think voter suppression, excessive incarceration, lack of affordable healthcare etc) and immigrants who the current WH resident likens to vermin as it refers to immigrants infesting the US.

Talk about hot . . . it hit 32C (90F) here yesterday, 10C above seasonal norms.  The sweat was literally lingering on my skin and matting my Sasquatch fur!  And today, more of the same.  I think I will have to have a garden hose shower this afternoon!  Please everyone, stay hydrated!

  8. Thanks all.  Hot hot Hugs! 26
